Sourenga actually has a post a few pages back that covers the breakdown of preorder bonuses for those interested on where to get what. Still very salty that I'm not getting that Orie poster ;.;

The famitsu article has images for all of them.  But it does require you to know some Japanese to read which one is which I suppose.

Edit: Well, all of them besides Amazon's wallpaper.

Byakuya looks interesting to play as with his spiderweb traps, Nanase less so. They're both really dull character designs compared to most of the rest of the cast, and Byakuya looks too much like Chaos took his glasses off.

Nanase looks pretty basic, but she might be fun.

Byakuya looks like fun, also really nice theme music, loving these stages too.

Still probably playing Merkava and Carmine over all of them.

Finally, gameplay footage of my girl Nanase putting in work. Yes! Also, I like how her gameplay video has my 2 future mains facing off. It's a sign!

She's looking like the speedy character that I expected and we were told she would be. Good normals. That normal or move where she projects a gust of wind forward around her arm looks unsafe up close though. Might need to space it well.

Also dat console opening with the anime music

Some thoughts from the 2 videos:

Byakuya seems to able to switch sides during a combo(and possibly pressure) quite confortably, which works quite well with his traps, allowing him to make the best use of random traps that were setup prior to the combo.

Seems like the traps can be destroyed by hitting them. You can see the trap he set up at the beginning being destroyed by Hyde's j.C(?).That or the trap expired at the same time as the attack, but if you look closely it looks like it dissapeared in the middle of the glow animation when Hyde's attack connected. This ofcourse means that matchups with Gordeau and other long range characters will be played very differently. One saving grace is that the ground trap will most likely not be able to be destroyed.

Aerial trap also gives him upward momentum after it's planted so it loooks like he can get a ghetto double jump from it,and with at least 2 moves that change his air trajectory and a 360 degree air normal it looks like he will be quite mobile and dangerous in the air.

However his normals seem to be shorter than Vatista's,and it doesn't look like he has other space control tools other than his traps.

Overall an interesting mix of screen control and mobility.

Also his VO is questionable at best.

Now on to Nanase...

At first, she seemed very underwhelming, fitting the mold of a solid and effective character almost to a T.

Looking at the video more closely I've managed to deduce two things that make her kind of unique:

1)Like Byakuya she can very easily switch sides during combos(and possibly pressure)

2)She has this special moves that looks like Hyde's midair Dark Lotus but with a dive follow-up.Since the move is grounded it could be a very good pressure tool, but the divekick follow-up also leads me to believe that she can potentially do the move on oki and get a left/right mixup, regardless if the actual wind part connects or not. This coupled with the fact she can actively avoid the corner if she chooses to can lead to some very dangerous situations.

Both the characters seem to be midrange with some space control options in the form of traps and gusts of wind and some non-standard aerial movement options.Nanase seems like a good fit for the game, but she's too similar to Hyde and Linne to get me excited.

As for Byakuya it seems like he will need to make use of his movement options in matchups where he can't use his traps effectively. He looks like he will be a very rewarding character to master.

Another thing to take away is that none of them will be able to do anything about GRIM REAPER.

Byakuya reminds me of Daemon Bride's Dusk a whole lot (UZEE UZEE!), except for being voiced by Megumi Ogata's clone and having some nice traps (loved that blocking into the trap part). Since I love all of that already, I might try him out, but I'm not sure Wald and Merkava are going to leave enough space for me to pick up a third character.

Nanase looks like a mix of Hyde and Linne, so I'm not too interested in her. It's another character for the newbies to pick up, which is great.

Could someone reupload this to Youtube or as an file to another site?

Here

But you can always use the metacafe thing that is on the 1st post to see nico videos

Because not everyone can watch Nicovideo, especially when they're not at their PC.

Also, the views don't matter, spreading the word does.

The move that Nanase does at :18 seconds seems to be her Force Function. Sourenga mentioned her FF is a high jump. The swirl attack may be a follow up. Or just one of her air normals

I love the wind and feather effects near her feet when she dashes, jumps, and assaults

Posted

Definitely seems to be her force function. A GRD square got used up when she used it. Not quite sure how it's useful in aerial combos though, maybe because it functions like a short hop or because it can cancel from certain things? Going to need to do some experimenting with that one.

And yeah, it's a special like Sourenga said. Looks pretty useful. It's comes out at just the right angle to control a good amount of space in front of her.

The hop itself may have a hitbox and will help launch the opponent airborne for said air combos. Or she might be able to do it in the air too. Maybe

In a good note, sounds like they fixed the voice samples on the site. Not so deep anymore lol

Both new characters look really solid. And I must say I was almost won over by Nanase and her relentless rushdown, definitely a character I would mess around with. Digging Byakuya's voice actress as well. He sure is unsettling to listen to. I'm pretty confident that neither will wind up in Akatsuki-tier, Nanase in particular. I'm getting so hype for this game, it's so close yet so far!

On a side note, I have a question. Does anyone know the frame data on Gordeau's Grim Reaper? That move looks broken as shit and I'd love to see how absurd it's properties are.

Posted

EX Grim Reaper version has invincibility, normal version is ex cancelable and chain shift is possible on whiff, hit or blocked. Its not the move by itself that makes it overwhelming, its the fact that if Gordeau has meter, grim reaper becomes the way he's going to force you into his optimal ranges.

Hey! Did a quick amateur analysis on Byakuya's moveset. A friend suggested I post it here, so this will also be my first post! Anyways... My lingo is pretty wonky so excuse that, but here.

If you have any suggestions, please say so and I'll edit, and of course, credit you accordingly. Note this is all speculation on my behalf, so nothing is set in stone.

Here ya' go! (x)
