I finally played BBCS online. It's better than the original BB, and it's freaking awesome being able to do ASTRAL FINISH on the second match!!!

Although, I haven't seen anybody I fought use astral finishes. I was in 60+ matches. Fought basically every character except Valkehayn and MU[are they rarely used?] Anyways, Whatever happened to awesome, flashy wins? Or are AF's not good enough to use?

Does anybody use AFs? Which are the best? I managed to use both Ragna and Rachel's AF on somebody, although Rachel's AF timing is somehow off? It's harder to use than before. Does anybody know if theirs a trick to it? :psyduck:

Ragna, Makoto, Valkenhayn, Mu, and Tsubaki's are all easy to land since they can be comboed into off quite a few things mid combo, if I remember correctly at least. Ragna probably being the easiest, if anything because he gets Heat so fast. Or I think Makoto's can work as a reversal?...I honestly don't know simply because I only play Bang, so I'm just going by what I've seen / heard / read somewhere. Rachel's can be setup like a trap if you have them in the corner with George out, I think.

Other characters can combo theirs off of Throws or really random hits that are probably not normally thrown out a lot or likely to land.

As for tricks? If it's the easier people it's not hard cause they can just combo into it mid-combo after multiple hits. If it's the characters that need throws or random hits, you can do tick throw setups or just plain whiff an attack then go for the throw. Most of the time you'll have to obviously have it in your head that you want to go for Astral. And most of the time the other person will realize you want to try and Astral them.

Nonetheless it makes matches interesting when you're specifically trying to Astral someone. I always have fun trying at least.

This would probably be better suited for the beginner forum, but the best astral finishes are ones that can be combo'd into in normal situations. Ragna, noel, and makoto come to my mind.

Tager has astral tech traps and he can also combo into it, all he needs is spark bolt or a random CH.

I remember i found out you can get noels AF off of an easy d.6C. Although it really doesn't matter, because by the time the opponent's health is low enough to allow an Astral, a regular follow through combo would finish them off anyway.

Ragna's is pretty decent. Hakumen's is amazing. I really dont see a reason not to use his.

I LOL hard when i catch people with Jin's. First reaction is to block, but people usually only remember to jump at the VERY last second...which is too late. You can tell they try to jump because it catches them a little bit off the ground, and they fall back lol

Here's a question: Why does Arakune's Astral work online like... 90% of the time? I've had people BURST trying to get rid of it.

Bang can teleport with his astral, works similar to his drive attacks. He can tigerknee it off 5D, and 2D, both counter hit, and 5d only connects in the corner. Same goes for his throws but in the corner only after the kick.

Valk's is a dp, so it's a pretty decent anti air which hits multiple times. 4 hits if I remember correctly.

Makoto can combo into hers from all her D's and some special attacks, she can connect off her 214A~D but doesn't cleanly connect off Lv3. Same goes for her 2D.

I usually try and go for astrals, usually combo into it with Ragna, Valk, Makoto, Tao, and Bang. The problem is either, I don't have enough heat and they're down to very little health where even trying to get extra heat is not even possible, or I messed up the setup and failed to astral.

Honestly, the only one I can't do half the time is Haz's. That whole 1632143 motion is a bitch.
