mAc Chaos Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 apollo justice is good :< ema isn't the same in AJ though 1st and last case are the best ones
mAc Chaos Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Ace Attorney! It's where my avatar is from. :3 Phoenix Wright's gonna be in UMvC3 right? Apollo Justice grew on me. I like it more than the Edgeworth game, anyway.
kr3wman Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 (edited) for a game series where the gameplay itself depends on the writing without takumi you can see the quality decline. first case is pretty meh. I'll beat the rest tomorrow. the music also takes a beating every game. Edited August 30, 2011 by kr3wman
Leo7 Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 apollo justice is ok. main problem is that the prosecutor doesn't feel like he's out to get you :/. oh well.
mAc Chaos Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Yeah, it's different, but I also like the cast. It has its own slew of unique characters, and it opens up a lot of potential for more story. Like, I want to know more about what happened in the 7 years, to people like Maya, and then you can have sequels with the new characters. I also liked the main villain the most... I kind of had that problem with Edgeworth's game. In the Phoenix Wright ones you're always on the ropes and barely hanging by a thread at every turn. But in Edgeworth's there's no suspense, he just shows up in beast mode and rapes everybody and calls it a day. It's still good though. I would've rather had an AJ2 than an AAI2. Not that we can ever compare it since they won't ever release it here. (Although I heard some pretty epic stuff about it.)
Leo7 Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 hobo nick is not nick in my eyes. i treat the game as a separate universe!
mAc Chaos Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 He is like a COMPLETE version of Nick. MATURED. VIOLATED. He still has his same personality under all the hobo-ness. He just got wiser.
Leo7 Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 IGIARI! why would you have to be violated to be complete Hobo Nick is sexier though. uh no homo? And I thought Nick was plenty wise enough in the original games, I just don't like that they have to go the grimdark direction. Oh well.
kr3wman Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 (edited) He wasn't involved? Are you sure? I could feel he wasn't involved with the writing just going through the first case, and I check online to be sure (he isn't involved.) Also, the first case really doesn't work. All the tutorial cases are made to make you feel intelligent by putting no tough contradictions and what not, your aide only pushing you or giving an answer when there's an impasse. First case of apollo, wright does everything for you as the defendant! pretty dumb. And Wright's character so far is really, really wrong anyways. fake evidence? dude, attorney wright would punch his daughter and his future-self right in the face. 'matured and violated' isn't character development, it's character destruction. Edited August 30, 2011 by kr3wman
mAc Chaos Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 (edited) Oh yeah, that happens a lot in this game. Get ready. Your aide feels like a better attorney than you, lool. But the other characters!!! Especially two brothers make the game for me. @Blade: Yeah, the story and characters are amazing. It's an unforgettable series. I can't even begin to describe it, except that you'll get addicted and won't be able to put it down from start to finish, and then wish it didn't end when you're done. IGIARI! why would you have to be violated to be complete Hobo Nick is sexier though. uh no homo? And I thought Nick was plenty wise enough in the original games, I just don't like that they have to go the grimdark direction. Oh well.Well, I don't think he changed that much. His thinking seems pretty much the same old Nick during the parts when you can see what he's thinking. You just can't tell for the rest of it, so maybe he always comes off that way. But I also like how he basically learned from his experiences and became less idealistic, and has a tinge of bitterness. It kind of reminds me of like how Goku would always try to save every single villain he fought against until he met Freeza. Also he kind of became what he was accused of becoming, so in the end the plan was a success, if you remember the end of the first trial and what he did. They never went into that though. It just seems like a natural change to me rather than one where they were just like YO HERE'S SOME HOBOS. Edited August 30, 2011 by mAc Chaos
Leo7 Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 But I also like how he basically learned from his experiences and became less idealistic, and has a tinge of bitterness. This is exactly what I don't like =/ (the aforementioned grimdark direction). The other characters are OK though yea. I'll take Trucy over Maya.

It's not like it's on the surface; it's something in the background that you have to look into. Plus with the characters that were involved, it kind of felt inevitable. kr3wman Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Keep playing. They go into that as the game goes on. It's like the story's central mystery. good thing they contradict it in the first case.
kr3wman Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 lool, how? Phoenix: ... Phoenix: My past is like my logic, straight and true. Phoenix: Nothing's changed. Phoenix: All I did was point the finger of justice in the proper direction. thats why you present forged evidence, right Wright? apollo also comments on how he didn't do anything and wright did everything for him. god I want to shoot myself.
kr3wman Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 (edited) I read the story, I know. Still doesn't make sense. now I just want to play umvc3 so that I can play a new game with a character I enjoy without a raped personality and dumb character development. Edited August 30, 2011 by kr3wman
Dai_Loli Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 I lost interest in the series at the Edgeworth game, but in retrospective, that might just be because the Edgeworth game was bad compared to the previous ones. Guess I should consider getting the next game.
