Also, thanks to Nini for making me do the biggest MvC3 fail moment ever with Arthur. For whoever cares about what happened: It was only Nini's X-factored Dante and my Arthur left. There was only a few seconds left, and I was full screen away. Nini just held back-down because he knew I couldn't do anything. So I figured I'd just WALK slowly (Arthur can't dash) towards him and throw him for the laughs. When I finally get close to him, my armor breaks, and I fly back. Then the time runs out.

Thelo Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 (edited) Yo guys, does that seem to be the good animation speed for BB: (10ms per frame) No game ever goes as fast as 10 ms per frame aka 100 frames per second. The literal best you can get with our TVs is 60 fps. Fortunately you made a typo because that gif is 100ms per frame aka 10 frames per second. What normally happens with fighting games is that the game itself runs at 60 fps and the animation frames are interspaced unevenly across that 60 fps. Even super old games like Super Turbo run at 60 fps and sometimes use a frame of animation for only 1f aka 1/60th of a second (Guile's huge sprite for Flash Kick only displays for 1f) but the general rule is that "animation framerate", i.e. the rate at which you actually change the image, jumps all over the place depending on the needs of the particular animation. I don't actually know what BB Platinum's idle pose uses for animation frame data but my gut feeling is that it probably spends less than 100ms (6f) on some images of the animation. Now gif animations add another layer to the problem because they won't run at 60fps in an actual web browser anyway. Basically, having very small delays between frames works wildly differently in different browsers, with the result that your gif never runs as fast as you'd expect it to if you're doing anything over 10 fps. In particular, IE is hardcoded to have a max gif speed of 10 frames per second (or at least it has been for a damn long time, I haven't checked later versions), so anything with frames using a delay below 100ms won't animate at the correct speed in at least IE. Edit: Also that particular gif is kind of wonky. Frame 11 (with the hip at leftmost) is missing so the animation stutters, and Platinum's body just isn't properly positioned across the anim (just look at how her feet move around when they're supposed to be fixed). I have only one pad with the "cool dpad", so you might wanna bring your own adapters / PS3s / joysticks. I'm not far from Frontenac or Sherbrooke stations. At work right now, so I'll type up more later. And check back. I can host about 8-10~ max. Of course that would require 2 setups otherwise there'll be a lot of thumb twiddling : P I'd have typed this on Sankishin, but it seems like Ubi blocks it :P

Also Nezu's new name is Keyaki, it's 3 characters long, this Bang has a dora sized name that is popular with most jap bangs these days. Leo7 Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 Kaeru, BB players can change their PSR names at any time (e.g. Galileo switched his PSR name from Galileo to Raditz to Sindelian to etc.). I was aware of the PSR name Keyaki, but he probably changed it, and I can guarantee it's Nezu. There's really no other bang at Acho who uses default color and has that specific amount of PSR (always around 200) AND loves to IB > FRKZ.

Id be very surprised if this other dude is Nezu.
