unsanctifier Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Thing about Bell, Blade, is that they operate with a lower level of ethics in the way they treat customers and in the way they operate internally as well, especially with how they treat some of their front line employees. I know this from first hand experience of their policies and their employee guidelines. Dameyo~
BladeOfJustice7 Posted May 29, 2013 Author Posted May 29, 2013 Interesting, we in my fam tend not to get that sort of treatment from Bell. On the other hand, we've had problems with videotron on multiple occasions.
pochp Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 I thought Bell's scumbag practices were common knowledge, here's an example. Some relatives had a cellphone contract with bell a few years ago. They really didn't like the customer service and thought it was too expensive for no reason so they decided to switch to videotron. However, since videotron bills it with the internet, phone, and tv to save, they had to wait until the next month to start with them, and asked bell if they could continue their contract for that extra month, to which they were told that it was ok. After switching to videotron, they got the bill from bell for that month, and it was 600$+. They called and it wasn't a mistake, and there was nothing they could do about it... And bell still calls every now and then to know if they'd like to go back with them.
BladeOfJustice7 Posted May 29, 2013 Author Posted May 29, 2013 Why was it $600+ in the first place though o_O
AirMaster Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 It used to be pretty damn expensive to cancel your cellphone contract back in the day.
unsanctifier Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 When you sign up a contract you agree to the cancellation charges which can be high depending on the discount you get for a cell phone, that isn't bad practice to send someone a bill they agreed to when they signed a contract. What's poor is their internal call handling system which can result in you being transferred a million times with a long wait time hoping that you just hang up on them instead of trying to get a new plan or to make changes etc. (includes cancellation) They're aware of their structure issues and don't try to change it, that's scum bag.
DerQ Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Or for instance, if you want additional bandwidth for one month knowing you will break your cap, you can subscribe for an additional fee to extend your capacity. The rate for this is pretty good when compared to fees for going over your limit. What sucks is that the fee is now added to your monthly bill assuming you want it every month. Through the online interfaced used to subscribe to that service, you cannot unsubscribe the monthly fee. You are stuck with it unless you give them a call which takes roughly above 30 minutes just to say : "Remove it from my monthly fees". Loop this process everytime you're about to break your cap and are trying to save some money.
LeDom Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 Hey guys! I'm new here and looking for other Blazblue or P4A players that live around the area (I'm from the south shore, to be accurate). I wouldn't consider myself good at both of those games, as I've only being playing since september and on a casual level level, but I'd love to find other players to get better! Also, to stay on topic, I've worked for Bell and, although it was for a very short time, I got to find out they're........not too great, and it was hard to find a plan that doesn't gouge you.
DerQ Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 Hey there, I don't have all the time to go in detail since I'm at work, but here is some good info for newcomers: We gather 3 times a week at this arcade-like bar/restaurant named foonzo. It's right next to the bell center on drummond street. That being said, you need to be 18+ to go there, hope it's the case. We gather sunday, tuesdays and thursdays throughout the evening. You need to purchase some food (a meal) to play, bare minimum. Support the place, tip the waiters (or else they'll kick your ass at BB). One thing to note is that if you plan going on Tuesday, just ask ahead of time who's coming that day. It's the one day where sometimes most of us are busy with something else. Otherwise, there's always people. Plus, we have our biggest tournament of the year next weekend with players coming from Ontario and the US !!!! If you're not 18 or above, some of us live on the south shore too and I'm pretty sure we could do stuff outside of Foonzo if we must. Otherwise, you can always come chat with us on our forum used for stuff outside of dustloop. If you sign up there, you will see a mini-chat link in the upper right corner where we hang out and chat every day.
Bibiquadium Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 For 2 years I've been wondering if I wasn't the only Makoto player in Canada. Every time I see someone else playing her it picks my interest. Heck, yesterday I just went to pack my streaming equipment and do some studies until I saw someone new playing Makoto, then it was over. Welcome aboard. As mentioned above, we have this thread and Sankishin where we gather and talk just about anything, we also talk about meetups and upcoming events so if you aren't sure if anyone /or who/ will be there on a Tuesday, this kind of information will be found on those two sites!
DerQ Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 Gotta love this town man, every 2 months, someone new shows up. It's godlike.
WakeUpDP Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 I'll be at foonzo today at like 6 or so. Also welcome Dom, and don't worry about skill level I was in the same situation as you last summer.
Heartless Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 I will be at Foonzo at opening hours. Since I finished early. I will be awaiting you all in my Clinic of Science.
Mask_Lover Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 I want to go Foonzo tonight (Thursday) but I've only been there once, so should I bring my PS3 Arcade Stick for games, like BB, or are there just game off the cabinets to play? (From Weat Coast, visiting family)
Bibiquadium Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 Bringing your stick would be reccomended, the rest is covered.
LeDom Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 DerQ: Thanks ! I actually was at Foonzo just yesterday and I was referred to this forum, surprised I actually didn't hear of it before that day. Bibiquadium: I guess I'll have a lot to learn from you, I'll be bringing my PS3 controller because learning to play with a fightstick is a tad tricky when you're used to a regular controller lol. Everyone else: thanks for being so welcoming !

I might have to take that guy seriously now. And shouts to Kirby and Bibi for the service as always. We need to get some games in! Might come by this sat. after all since I might need to go somewhere close anyway. We'll see.
