pochp Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 Gas split is usually 40 each. Hotel is usually 30 each (120 per room, 4 per room), per night (so 90$ in this case, 60$ for others). Event fees are usually 40 venue, then 10 per tournament (I usually do 4, bb/gg/p4/mb). Food averages to 10 per meal, 2 meals per day, so 20$ fri, 20$ sat, 30$ sun, 20$ mon. Total is then 40 + 90 + 80 + 90 = 300$. Other tournaments where we only stay 2 days or don't go as far, such as toronto, are a bit cheaper, around 200$. Then there's like going to Ottawa which is probably under 50$. Though, if you're already paying for your own food regardless of going or not, that part of the total may be removed depending on how you budget it. Reminds me, got confirmation from Jin that we can run a small tournament on September first. Details to come.

Though, if you want to go to NEC this year, better start looking for a passport while you can. Don't know how long it takes to get it, but don't wait last minute. This is more specific to me, but if you can pay back later, it's not /too/ big of an issue. If you're also short for meal/food money, I can be slightly generous. I don't mean to say I pay for everything, but one meal and a pizza share at the hotel or something. I guess it's always a possibility to bring some food too to save money. Cool. I'm in then. If anything changes by then I'll let you know. Wow, I didn't expect to actually have people going in for the 5-day idea. Even though it's still all a big maybe, so far there's Brice, K.e.G, Airmaster and me that are interested. We'll wait before confirming it though because LOL EXAMS DURING THAT WEEK

Brice Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 passport take no time to do. google passport canada take the right form and complete it asap. then wait it in line mtl (complexe guy favreau) for a whole morning, pay 80$ or so to get your passport. wait 2 weeks and go back there to get it faster than by mail. TADA you have a passport. the hard part is completing correctly the form. and its good for at least 5 years

So at some point you need documents to prove your identity or something, and we couldn't find the required documents, so we had to get my birth certificate. There was another form to fill in for that, and then they had to mail it to me (which took a while, can't remember), and THEN I could continue. So just start asap, to avoid the worst case scenario.
