Eventually if blazblue sticks around for years the best tagers will probably come from here in America since we more often than not play because we like the character not because of the tier list. Im trying to will myself back into the game after they openly continune to make tager bad. In all honesty i think CT tager was the closest to being right due to his damage and proration not being terrible. If he had the tools he has now with that damage i think he would be a legit tournament character even with the problems of keeping people grounded. 6A hasn't been bad so far and i use 4d almost more than i use 5d anymore the hitbox seems to be longer horizontally on it or its active longer not sure yet. Commanderoftroy Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 I was playing around today and i found a little 720 set up off of a 4d whiff that has worked well due to it looking like a mistake. 2b,5b,5c,4d (whiff) 720 or 360 or whatever else you prefer. The 5c always pushes them far enough away for the 4d whiff.
DJ Koopa Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 One of the things that's really pissing me off is this 2C>3D change. When it was 2C>4D, I never fucked up any ACs. Now with the gatling being 3C, more often than not I won't be able to get the AC off, which kills a lot of my combos. What the hell... Not to mention, you can't delay 3C like you could 4D and fish for a free CH, both because it's quicker and safer on block. The new forward throw is God-awful too. It's ONLY chainable while the opponent is magnetised, and with a well-timed AC, which is rather bad considering that 3C took input-advantage over everything else.. The back throw is unbelievably awesome, but that forward throw...ugh. Makes Karas almost useless now. And for the love of God, don't get me started on no more 6A jump cancel...can't really do shit against players who refuse to tech anymore, just waiting for the wear off or the DP after GF.

I admit 2C>3C throws me off, I still expect people to block the 3C and whenever I do get 3C when I mess up a collider its when the 3C fatals. You can actually delay the 2C>3C as I do it all the time to punish mashing. Just slow down your inputs a bit and you'll be fine. 2. The new forward throw is useful, sure you can't get a combo off without spark or meter but it does a lot of damage for a ground grab. (1900) Personally I love the new throw, you can actually get magnetism mid combo off a regular throw in the corner. 3. 6A not jump cancelable is a hassle but you shouldn't be too concerned about it, just start using the other gattlings after it which are: 6B, 3C, and 4D. 4D makes it safe even on IB and if they IB they are than likely trying to punish. These things your complaining about are the same things that made me cry on day one but when I started playing around I found the good in the bad. Being a Tager player is all about taking the good and accepting the bad.

Commanderoftroy Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 I use more rapids off that 2c 3c gatling either for the easy guard break 360or to set up a 2b whiff for throw set up. Occasionally the 2b connects but then you have frame advantage.

Actually it's always bad for heat gain, any other combo that gets 3700 damage tends to get you much more than 15 heat.

natearistata Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 just did it in training mode, it's odd to time. took me 6 or so tries. but after the guard break, I waited right until Jin started moving back into his neutral stance, ended up getting a purple grab again.

I'm itching to try it on a Rachel player for the lulz. Also, I am extremely salty about losing the 2C>5D gatling. That was great for keeping someone in the corner. Now we lose that... in a game which hypes up the corner as the only thing that matters? GAAAAAAAUGH. I can't wrap my mind about some of the changes done to Tager.
