If you use Yu's DP, you're using it once and either ending the combo or super canceling and ending the combo with a super. WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE An interesting thing about Yu's DP and supers -His DP can only be super canceled, can't be OMC or OMB, though I think that's universal -Ziodyne, his beam super, can't be OMB'd, but can be OMC'd, but you can't combo after it realistically, because proration is shit at this point. -Cross Slash can't be OMC'd or OMB'd. You're not supposed to be able to combo off it except off of specific cross-under set-ups. I did find a double super 7.2k combo with him though, thanks to Cross Under Cross Slash, which I will lovingly abbreviate as CUCS. Edited August 13, 2012 by LuminAbyss

This one was actually a lot harder than the Mitsuru one, because I had to figure out the proration for him. I was going to try and add a real combo before it, but it prorates too much to do anything. Although, I didn't test it a very long, so he might be able to squeeze in a few hits.

People aren't used to a grappler having a reversal yet, just give it time. It's even worse because the reversal leaves that awesome status effect to keep you in place. You can't blindly rush the grappler in this game... unless you're Chie.

It's even worse because the reversal leaves that awesome status effect to keep you in place. You can't blindly rush the grappler in this game... unless you're Chie. Kanji's reversal destroys Slab's oki game?

Urichinan Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 Kanji's reversal destroys Slab's oki game? It murders it, actually, because it'll counter the Persona and Shadow Labrys will be hit. Although you can bait that and punish him, but you still can't apply pressure like against most DP's.

Yeah i know, it's just such a disadvantage, and most of yosuke's moves that move him aren't very safe to throw out like that... Just gotta mess with my options more...

Damn, I haven't even scratched the surface with Yu combos yet. The most I know how to do is like, 5K. I'm gonna have to step up my game. I mentioned it before, but it doesn't bother me in the least that Yu's DP isn't OMC/OMB'able. The fact that it's Super Cancelable means that many attempts to try punishing it is a 50/50. And because Ziodyne is OMC'able, if Yu DP's and Ziodynes but his opponent blocks both, he can OMC and get a mix-up off them (assuming his opponent is on the ground, of course). CUCS is so legit. I can't wait to figure out how to get it consistently. It seems like it's even possible to get it against some characters' cross-up specials. I know for a fact that you can get it on Teddie's EX spinny move (no idea what it's called, lol). Also, fun fact about Cross Slash is that it's not OMB'able on hit, but it IS on block. I think. No clue wtf to do with that. There are a few things you can do. Keep in mind that Paralysis doesn't restrict Evasive Action or Short Hops. You can use the former to escape the corner, or the latter to prevent him from command grabbing you on wakeup. Some characters can wake up and DP his DP, but I'm not too sure on the specifics of that. I'd say that one of Yosuke's best options, if you're not afraid of taking a risk, is using his Whirlwind super after a neutral tech. If I'm correct in my assumptions, it should go through pretty much anything he uses. And even if he blocks it, you might be able to use it to put some distance between the two of you given your maneuverability during the Super (unless Paralysis restricts your movement on that- again, I'm not too sure. Probably something to be taken to the lab for).

Star, at least, so I can loan you a controller? I'd like to make it. I would most like to ride up with Chandler if he's going, but I can't even get him to text me back for gaymes. I'm so unpopular. Anyway, should be thur. I'm thinking about picking a secondary and its between Labrys, Shadow Labrys and Chie ( if I am really lazy ). Naoto as a distant option, too..maybe. Slab seems more difficult (difficult in general ) than Labrys and from what I understand not as good as regular Labrys? That about right? I like Shlabby more, but I'm not wanting to work -that- hard. Liz is hard enough. Plus if Betty doesn't work out, I'd like my secondary to be tournament worthy. I don't wanna hear " everyone's viable " either, because the same people saying that ( everyone ) are the same people bitching about Aigis and Mitsuru( everyone ). I play Karate in KOF, Akuma in SF... I wanna win! Not as interested in crazy tier whoring like in other games for some reason, but still want plenty of return for my time and effort investment.
