Also, to anyone who entered that Mayonaka Midnight online tournament (i.e. Volpe/Star)- don't forget that the tourney is tomorrow. You should also note that the brackets were redone tonight in Challonge, which changed who everybody is matched up against. The amount of times they've changed things like this at the last minute seems INCREDIBLY unprofessional to me (I'd already scheduled a time with one of my opponents for tomorrow), but what can I do? :V

I didn't even get to enter. I wanted to wait til release day to make sure I had a copy before I entered a tourney. Little did I know they stopped taking sign-ups THAT day.

If it's any consolation Volpe, I doubt you'll be missing much. There are TONS of people who have said they won't be able to play in the tournament since the reschedule, and there are always going to be those people who forget about it/don't say anything when they can't make it/stopped caring/etc. Factor that in with how unprofessional the mods are treating the tournament already, and you've got a recipe for disaster.

Yeah. . . I was a little discouraged from the start. A large chunk of the people who entered were talking about how P4A was their first fighter and they knew they'd be free. Competition seemed a little meh.

They rescheduled the tournament because a few people were bitching about it, and they remade the brackets because a few people were bitching about it. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if they outright banned characters because a few people were bitching about it.

Seriously, the way this tournament is being handled just... Bothers me. It's supposed to be taking place over the course of three days/twelve hours for some reason, but there's been no mention of how that's going to be handled or why it's even a three day thing in the first place. I don't think these guys know how difficult it is for some people to get three consecutive days off without any interruptions.

I tried looking up my matches in the little bracket thing, didn't work for some reason. Doesn't really matter much anyway. I've lost most of my enthusiasm to compete in it.

On that note, i'm probably going to drop P4U until some solid frame data comes out or something. It's too random for me to deal with without it.This is the first game i've ever needed to take a break from it its first month.

How they can do it all in one day: state tournament beginning time. Get everyone + 1 official into one or more lobbies and have em play. Done in one afternoon.

Not exactly sure how the netplay hosting works but I know that whenever I'm in the room with a bunch of people fighting someone, even if I have a great connection with my opponent it lags. Same reason I couldn't complete my combos on Star last night even though I fight him easily all the time.

And on the topic of lag. . . Funny how this Yosuke I had three bars with miraculously started lagging the moment I air counter threw him into a corner combo.

Jk, I always keep in mind everyone's insight. It's just, everyday I play I get more frustrated, and everyday, I question why I even bothered to pick this game up in the first place. I thought it was going to eliminate a lot of the day 1 bs, but I was wrong, horribly wrong. It gets worst as time goes on. I don't know what to do anymore.

I know how you feel, Star. We all feel the same way sometimes. The best thing you can do is just grin and bear with it until you do find out how to deal with the game's BS. The more you learn how to handle things you feel are bullshit, the less it'll frustrate you, and the less it'll feel like BS.

And I've just been waiting to use that image for a while now. I don't remember if I saw Papstr use it first or not. Either way, I'm not trying to pick on ya or anything. Just noticed the opportunity and wanted to pick up the combo.

I noticed something weird. I've heard Japanese players were mashier than we are, and looking at Persona videos, you'll rarely see them blocking. All the BB vids I've seen instantly flew out of my head and I assumed they just didn't like blocking pressure. But now that I'm watching this UNiB tournament, they're back to blocking normally. . . They blocked in BB, they block in UNiB, they block in GG. . . What's up with P4U?

Those are all things I thought at one point, and all things I thought were BS. Did I feel like giving up? Sometimes. But I just kept playing, and the more I kept playing, the more I realized I had options and approaches to counter all those things. It's just part of the strive in getting better at games.

If you can't not get frustrated, just let your frustration be your drive to get better. Though it's always better to look at these kinds of things with a cool head.
