From what I've seen/experienced, Akihiko gets respectable damage off of... well, anything. Not sure why people are sleeping on him.

I win in that matchup because it's Kanji's only good matchup.

...You guys know Naimat MAINS Akihiko, right? I don't think anyone's sleeping on him, just pointing out that 100 meter for a weak mind game if the opponent has meter is pretty darn dumb.

Chandler - What's the converter of yours? The little small one that looks like a flash drive? Used it for 360>PS3 yesterday and it was -amazing-. Definitely buying one. I'll buy if off you, if you're selling it. If not I'd just like to know how to get one.

Haha, I know, right? It's called a Cronus Device- you can find them on its website here. I still use it, and I'd like to hold onto it for tourney purposes- it was just in Wes's hands this week so he and Papstr could play Persona in the dorms, and because I wasn't sure if I'd be able to make it to the game night last night (I wasn't ;~; ).

Holy shit dude, Cookeville? Where have you been? Lol.

College. I had no idea we had an FGC here. I came to that ACM console night and found a whole bunch of people. It was pretty surprising. They told me to come here and keep in touch.

Well, I still plan on keeping my Naoto up, too, so it won't be home runs and boxing gloves all the time.

Where have YOU been? Seriously, Cookeville could have 15 man gatherings but people ain't come to stuff.

That's fighting game players mentality. Its pretty sad, I know. No disrespect to anyone but people nuthug on top players hardcore. I remember Season's Beatings one year I'm sitting on a couch next to Daigo and some random asshole is like " Yo dude... Look. Who. Is. Next. To. You. " I rolled my eyes and just wanted to say " Yeah, some asian guy with a fanny pack who plays video games more than most people work a job. " That's all great, and he's a great player like tons of other people and I respect that for what it is. That doesn't mean I get them to sign my sticks and act like an ass. Part of the reason for top player cliques that annoy people are because of the fanboyism is just sad. Also, top players can be wrong. Just because someone is really good at a game doesn't mean their opinion isn't dumb and biased as all hell. Not talking about anyone in particular, definitely not LK, its just what Naimat said made me chime in< but I'm just talking about in general.

Also, anyone from midtn looking to go to season's beatings? My caravan might have a spot.

This is why I keep stressing to everyone to --spread the word-- and recruit and talk about the crew and the games we play in public.

Oh no, dont get me wrong, I do as well. I also agree with what you said 100% on akihiko.

I also think that the only reason he thought we were sleeping on him is because we were arguing about silly semi-useless shit.

I just figured if someone big on the outside decides to visit our humble abode then it mustn't be without reason.

Being excited about seeing someone whose extremely well-known for whatever particular reason isn't something out of the ordinary or a big deal. I think it's pretentious to look down on someone for who they admire/look up to/etc. I don't think most people are under the impression that top players can't be wrong, but it would be silly not to genuinely take into consideration what someone who has proven themselves has to say. At any rate, welcome to our community. New faces are always nice.

Anyway, I should be there on the 13th, but I don't think I'll be ready to take you guys' money yet. You can take some of mine T_T

To the lovely people that just recently started following the thread, videos of MTNG tournaments are available at http://www.youtube.com/user/MTNGNetwork

I hate the follow the leader stuff so much. Must be a slow news day when all anyone has to report is "Tokido isn't play Persona anymore". Big fuggin' deal. And then this sparks another "Oh, Persona is dead." wave.

Seriously. F all this noise.

It's just that the admiration is way overboard in many cases. I don't care what other people want to do, but I just think the FGC would be way better off if people thought for themselves. Nothing wrong with admiring someone for whatever, people do that with everything. I just don't like the attitudes it brings to the community. Taking into consideration is fine, but people tend to gobble down anything and everything top players say. Also, I'm not at all new to the FGC, just anime fighters and dustloop.

Exactly my point. People are more concerned with watching streams and doing what top players are doing than playing games. If you visit eventhubs, you might remember around when AE 2012 came out, literally every other news post was talking about who Daigo uses. Woo.
