Volpe-de-Glacio Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 (edited) I'd like to call GGs to the FGC for jumping on me for saying Japan might not be as godlike as they believe. GGs for telling me I underestimate the gimmicky powers of my -main-. GGs for facing the Labrys Legion on ranked, only for their unofficial leader to ragequit just before the second round timed out and took his S rank away. I'd also like to say GGs to the cultist killer running around TN for splashing blood on people and engaging in perverse rituals. Come at me, bro. In any case, I need to fight AzurePhoenix some more. He's one of maybe two Labrys players I've ever faced that don't just roll their faces on their buttons because she can get away with it. Edited September 14, 2012 by Volpe-de-Glacio
Jackie Chandler Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 GGs for telling me I underestimate the gimmicky powers of my -main-. Elizabeth is gimmicky? Sub considered.
Volpe-de-Glacio Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 (edited) She's like nothing but gimmicks and crazy risky mix-up. Most of them are rather ineffective unless you're deeper in their head than a pimp whose ho has daddy issues. One of her most efficient ways to use meter is to spend 50 SP as a pause button just to see what your opponent is doing on their wake-up or whenever. And now that I've discovered the ways of bold, I may just start talking like a comic book character. Edited September 14, 2012 by Volpe-de-Glacio

Volpe for top tier. MTNG | Volpe the Labrys Crusher.

In order to master the art of gimmicks, you must apply it not only to your character- but in the way you speak as well. Actually, I was thinking about Liz's Mind Charge mechanic recently. Most people see it as combo fodder, since it gives you a ridiculous amount of meter to burn. But something I think people fail to take into account is that if she activates the super with a reasonable amount of health and combos afterward, she can potentially get a ridiculous health buff in the form of recovered blue health + Awakening. Assuming she doesn't kill from the combo, that is. :P

With a solid Liz, it's a really huge risk/reward game that pays off in the form of mitigating her squishy-ness and making her that much more terrifying to face. @Millln: Aww, shucks. Apparently there's a dude murdering families after waking them up in the middle of the night by splashing blood on them and doing chants or something. He's currently at large and has done this throughout several counties.

Volpe-de-Glacio Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 (edited) The chanting part was only my assumption. What good is a cultist without chants to back up his perverse beliefs? The only confirmed thing is that he chucks a bucket of blood on you first. Although this is hearsay. I could be entirely wrong. So freaking close to S+ rank. Kept an S rank Yukiko from ranking up, then they stopped me. Then they won a couple matches as I got more and more flustered, before Star sent me dramatic music so I could defend myself from ranking back down to A+. I love the drama it adds when the game lets both of you know who's going to rank up or down. Edited September 14, 2012 by Volpe-de-Glacio
Jackie Chandler Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Saw this and immediately thought of Naimat.
Seiki Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 lmao. Saw this and immediately thought of Chandler.
Milln Posted September 14, 2012 Author Posted September 14, 2012 Both videos are amusing and I smile at them. PRETTY PUMPED ABOUT THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW, GUYS. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! Tekken at 12 Street Fighter at 2 Kof at 4 Perona at 6 WE IN THERE.
Mr.Minionman Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Needless to say he was promoted for his valiant efforts.
Volpe-de-Glacio Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 I'm super hype. How is the stream gonna work? Top 8?
Seiki Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Man I am so conflicted...research or tourney...I can put off my research....X___x I'll just come later for some friendlies if i get enough work done.
LastStarSaviour Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Still don't know how I feel about myself and this game yet. So much I find fraudulent, yet there's so much potential for growth if the fraudulence wasn't there. Idk, hopefully something will change. In other news, fighting this really strong Labrys player (who didn't just roll their face on the controller) has gotten me kind of hype for this tournament. Even got some technology to show off so look forward to that. @TTT2: Saw Jun, saw Feng (or whatever his name is), i'm picking TTT2 up.
Volpe-de-Glacio Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 (edited) Tech? What's that? God-like meatys all day son. Hopefully there will be time to try out TTT2 in some casuals without having to actually enter. Edited September 14, 2012 by Volpe-de-Glacio
Tophatmoffet Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 (edited) What is up with all you wierdos who even talks like that. Seriously. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! Tekken at 12 Street Fighter at 2 Kof at 4 Perona at 6 WE IN THERE. Barffffffffffff!! I can only make persona? Why not KOF last... I mean, you know, the three man round robin, that is? fml
Volpe-de-Glacio Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 (edited) What is up with all you wierdos who even talks like that. Seriously. Oh? What is his name? Do you remember what he did? Tsuntenshi or Setsuna, the Labrys mod. He's the first Labrys I've ever encountered that relied more on Ariadne opening people up with the spike traps rather than flailing wildly with JB. I think the only real flaw in his game was that he respected people in the air too much, because I didn't see him 2B very often. Still the best Labrys I've ever fought. edit; looking back, I'm doing AzurePhoenix no justice. He utilized Labrys's persona effectively too. It's just been awhile since I've seen another Labrys play that smart. Edited September 14, 2012 by Volpe-de-Glacio
Tophatmoffet Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Aw man I've wanted to see his labrys for ages. Following him on twitter turned out futile as he never talks about labrys tech. What a shame. Hmm, that's quite odd that he didn't use 2b often. Its really quite good.
Urichinan Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Yo, I've been dead for a while. I've been stuck in NC and I spent the past two days working, I officially start my job when I return to TN! Meanwhile, TTT2 is awesome, Anna and Michelle work great together. (115 DMG wall to wall combos with them both) Get ready for a combo videooooo!
Jackie Chandler Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 (edited) *Faces Banana Ken* *Shadow Labrys moves even further up on the "Jackie Tier List"* EDIT: *Faces Banana Ken again* *Gets combo'd into IK* *Cries* Edited September 14, 2012 by Jackie Chandler
Astaroth136 Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 I played a decent Yu player on my friends list today. At one point, I actually dp'ed him 5 times in a row. He wasn't mashing or anything; it was just good reads. He tried holding upback, dashing through, and the last one was a dp clash (but Kanji's has more active frames lol). Too bad no one plays on XBL.
Jackie Chandler Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 I play on XBL. I've just been in Training Mode/Ranked a lot recently. Jesus, I've been trying to only play A to SSS ranks today so I can get good matchup experience, and my W/L has went from 70% to 66%. ;~;
Mr.Minionman Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Oh yeah? well mine shot from 100% to 33% in player matches so don't feel too bad. Speaking of, dorm internet is apparently poor for P4A too... zzz or maybe I'm just picky...
