Milln Posted December 28, 2012 Author Posted December 28, 2012 Thanks for the new avatar Milln. Pffthhahahahahahaha I burst out laughing in the middle of my store Lmao, dude you're welcome. Glad to be of service.
Urichinan Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 Using H-Kohaku & Mech, I got 5.1K mid-screen, 5.9K in the corner and 6K from a mid-screen to corner combo, meterless, from 2A. The damage is just too dumb. <3
Volpe-de-Glacio Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 Did you set the dummy for damage reduction? In a match that's more like 3-4k. Still pretty good, but no longer holy-shit-half-your-health-is-gone.

Is the tournament standard for MB's damage level set to low?
Top_Cat Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 When you're mashing to tech, the damage is reduced, so, without it, you get unrealistically high damage.
Bane Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 Man, with everybody playing melty, now, I can't help but feel interested in getting back into it.
Volpe-de-Glacio Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 Haha, I just wish setting up netplay was less of a chore. I've also been dabbling in Street Fighter, and I've learned I can't play this game for shit. Still pretty fun tho', lol.
Urichinan Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 Man, with everybody playing melty, now, I can't help but feel interested in getting back into it. I'm only messing around in it so I can play it in casuals. I'm not really interested in learning it competitively. Chrono Phantasma will be out next year, and that's all I'm really concerned about playing at tournaments. MB is extremely fun though, if they were to make another game for consoles, I might think about picking it up then. Also: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCgkuTbLv8Q
Jackie Chandler Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 And I'm back from North Carolina! Sorry for being kinda absent recently. To recap my thoughts on what people have been talking about recently, I'd love to get into Melty Blood. I won't enjoy having to play with a PS3 controller, but playing it with a 360 controller just doesn't work the way it reads inputs, so I can get used to it. The only character I know how to combo with at the moment is Miyako, but I'd much rather play a character who has one of the best DPs in the game AND good combo potential. :3 Any suggestions?
LastStarSaviour Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 but I'd much rather play a character who has one of the best DPs in the game AND good combo potential. :3 Any suggestions? NANAYA MOUTHA FUCKING SHIKI!! I'm sad you won't be playing Miyako though. I watched some high-level matches of her, she's hype as fuck to watch stomp on niggas.
ZomB Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 About the airthrow thing, it's really pretty character specific. In MBAACC a lot of airthrows got their untech time nerfed etc so they're not nearly as universal as in MBAA(where it was probably close to 90/95% of chars targetting airthrow) They are a pretty decent target though for "tough" confirms, since they'll add a decent chunk of damage to an unprorated combo, so you'll see them a decent amount. Anyways a lot of characters have pretty similar combo structures(whatever -> launch jbc jbc ender). Two of the chars off the top of my head with pretty "different" combo structures are: C-Satsuki http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DV3V4Xjd0UA C-Kohaku http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qIffDdS9O-w But YES a lot of combos are pretty homogeneous, but given the size of the cast x3 it'd me pretty hard to make each char have entirely unique combos.
Volpe-de-Glacio Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 NANAYA MOUTHA FUCKING SHIKI!! Jackie can never escape the shoto curse.
Milln Posted December 30, 2012 Author Posted December 30, 2012 Jackoe I'm gonna get you device that gives you an electric shock every time you don't reply to a message you received longer than ten minutes ago. Kain, too.

I watched some high-level matches of her, she's hype as fuck to watch stomp on niggas. I'm not sold on Nanaya just yet, but I'll mess around with him some more to see if I like him or not. His DP is good, but I just don't know if I like his other specials more than I do other characters'. :V Jackie can never escape the shoto curse. More like shotos can never escape the Jackie curse. >:3 Jackoe I'm gonna get you device that gives you an electric shock every time you don't reply to a message you received longer than ten minutes ago. I'd be okay with that, provided I can get you a device that gives you an electric shock every time you call me Jackoe. :P
Seiki Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Hazama has a 150 Heat combo in BBCP: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jEUeyuDjHsM&feature=youtu.be Persona status @____@

Seiki Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 It's not a real combo, it's techable every time he activates SMP. Yes it is. It red beats the whole time. SMP doesn't initiate instant teching it just sharply reduces untechable time. Chains have a lot of hitstun to begin with so they can take some SMP proration. Plus the 5C that starts the combo has great p1 proration so it makes it even more possible to connect SMP moves.

This is CS2 and Extend's SMP system, in CP if you use a move with SMP twice the second time it's used in a combo it can be teched immediately. Hazama activates SMP 6-7 times in the video, unless OD completely ignores the SMP system, then nothing about this combo is legit.
Seiki Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 It never blue beats though. It has to be a true combo whether OD ignores SMP or not.
Urichinan Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 (edited) It never blue beats though. It has to be a true combo whether OD ignores SMP or not. Activating SMP in CP doesn't keep combos from continuing. Players have to tech the move themselves. An example of this is Litchi can do Haku > Staff 2 > 5B[m] > 4B > ItsuuA > 6Kote > Haku (SMP activates) > Hatsu > RiichiA > IppatsuD > 6C(2) and it is a legit red beat combo, but it can still be teched during Haku. Every time the opponent flashes blue during a combo (When SMP is activated) they can tech, unless, like I said, OD (Or that specific combo) removes the SMP system. Seiki Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 Hmm I thought the game would indicate if teching was possible. It let's you know that a purple throw isn't a legitimate combo, I'm surprised it doesn't notify you of SMP the same way.
Errol Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 Yeah I highly doubt that you can tech that combo. It would be blue if you could. I have seen one example of someone saying they use a really simple combo to finish people off, that has SMP in it. Would make no sense to use it as a simple kill combo if you could insta tech, no matter what. Besides that the whole point of red vs blue is to indicate whether a combo is legit, I still don't think this is the case.

Besides that the whole point of red vs blue is to indicate whether a combo is legit, I still don't think this is the case. I don't think you guys quite understand my point. Combos where a SMP move is used twice has no affect on the following combo, if the opponent doesn't tech the SMP move the second time it's used whatever hits after that is still a legit combo, and can be finished like normally. Which is why the Hazama combo is red beat the whole time, this is the case during REGULAR combos. But as I've said in all three of my posts, the Hazama combo may have some way around this rule. Unless all of the information that has been given to us since the location tests, every combo where the same SMP combo is used twice can be teched when it's activated.
