Nice to meet you!!

It really isn't that nice to meet Jackie in a gaming sense, but as a person he's the best kind.

Right now i'm just messing around with SF and SG. I want to play KOF and P4A though but I don't have a console at the moment. :c

Cool, if you need help with SF4 I'm probably your guy to ask in MTNG, but at GG there's Jason/Phil/Chris/Patrick who are all monsters and plenty of others who will help you out. GG is primarily a SF4 player base, so you should go there. For SG, we actually have Khaosmuffins(Kolby) who got 4th at Evo in it somewhere in/near Nashville. He'll come around sometimes, especially if people are playing SG. He actually really likes trying to teach people about the game.

Um, if you're interested in KoF a lot of MTNG is just getting into it, so it's not bad to try it out. We only have a small handful of actual P4U players, but a decent amount of people will play it if you ask, and the people who do really play it around here are pretty good. Ask Naimat/Justin about KoF, me/Jackie/Star about P4U.

But, welcome to TN. We'll play just about ANYTHING as long as somebody is interested.

Alrighty, i'm still a pretty big beginner with everything though. Oh and I saw Khaosmuffin play at Evo but I didn't know he was from here that's really cool. I'll be playing the PC version of SG when it comes out since the PS3 i've been playing on isn't really mine. :P I've been watching a lot of KoF and it looks really fun to play but I just don't have anything to play it on yet but I'm hoping this pc port that everyone was talking about actually happens. Do we have any kind of a Smash scene around here cause I have a friend that wants to get into comp Smash.

Oh and also my twitter id is @FlyKakesu if anyone wants to talk to me on there.

Being a beginner is fine. Just, don't be afraid to ask stuff. We have a smash community, it's actually mostly led by Milln's roommate KO, so ask Milln to get you in touch with him. More people would be hanging around here, but we have a skype chat people talk in these days. Most people only post in here when something is happening. Speaking of...

Supposedly we're going to Milln's place to practice this weekend but I have no idea what's going on. Skype is nifty but post in the thread people ;_; it moves slower and is easier to coordinate.

We play Project M on fridays at KoKingpin/millin/justins apt in murfreesboro. Nothing this coming friday due to a group of us going to the dallas tournment, however the next friday should be good.

On another note, has anyone played yatagarasu yet?

Yeah, I've brought it around GG and Milln's. Game is super simple and pretty addicting, pretty good all around. Nothing to take seriously really, just a thing to pull out sometimes. I like the game and would like to see the IGG succeed though, maybe it could be more of a thing.

Gotcha, it seems like it would be worth a play, 3s was always one of the better games. Also what is going on this weekend?

Yo Kakesu, we love teaching, even if a bunch of us are not the best at it. Feel free to ask anything, about anything.

We quite literally mean anything.

Also the beat way of getting in touch with the smash community here is going to smashboards> regional zones> Atlantic South> the House of Smash.

Excuse me? You know better than to misspell my name.

@Kakesu/M'Ellis: Kakesu you can also ask me about game knowledge/advice anything that isn't Street Fighter. I don't play competitively anymore, but I have lots of knowledge and for some reason I always get left off of "Talk to this guy" lists. Even when I did play.

He's just saying it the way it's pronounced. :v:

Jackie, I don't know if you're already aware, but this looks like something you might be interested in.

http://spelunkyworld.com/dailychallenge/

Actually, the Cookeville guys brought this up to me yesterday. I think it has the potential to be a cool idea, but IMO, the whole idea of the map being a surprise will be ruined by people looking up videos of the Daily Challenges before playing it themselves. :V I.E., while you only get one attempt per day, the maps will be potentially easier to complete and rank well on - you just have to not be one of the first people to complete them. :P

Why would you record a video to help people get a better rank than you?

Why would you record a video to help people get a better rank than you?

I imagine most people won't be recording and uploading videos with that intention in mind - it'll be to "show off" to other players, and perhaps help promote the game. It'll happen for the same reasons people post videos of them owning other players in online matches, or why people make tutorials on how to fare better against competition in fighting games. No doubt a portion of the uploaders will have somewhat good intentions. It's just that, in a situation like this, it'll only make things more difficult on the players who play the Daily Challenges the way they're meant to be played, no doubt.

If more people are getting better, you can have more heated competitions. Maybe they just want a challenge!

Joke gone too far lol. I'm actually not too interested in the game itself, just dive + kick matchup.

This. This this this this this. I enjoyed the game in the beginning for its simplicity and focus on concrete fundamentals/yomi. But now that there are all these characters and meter mechanics that work differently, I'm really not that big of a fan as I used to be. I mean, I'll wait to judge it until I play it, but as it stands, I have my fair share of doubts.

Having played it at UFGT... I'll probably end up buying it. :v:

Divekick is going to be fun the first few times you play it. The whole premise is a gimmick and a waste of money.

Old E3 news but some of you might be like me and not have heard about it:

Sakurai to cut Story Mode BECAUSE THE CLIPS GOT PUT ON THE INTERNET.

Like. At first I was confused but then I remembered that this is the guy that thought tripping was a great idea and I see where this is coming from.
