I'm not playing Tekken. It's a great game, and its another one of thise games on the "i used to play this" list, but in addition to my time constraints, I feel like half the time im not interacting with the game.

Tekken is also difficult. Can I ask how serious everyone that intends to get into it plans to take it?

I plan on taking it seriously until CP comes out. I might eventually end up dropping SCV for it. I love SC, but I don't find it as fun as Tekken, due to it's slower pacing.

I promised to learn a 3d fighter eventually so I'm going to learn TTT2. It looks fun and I like that you don't have to press a button to block lol.

Steve and Hwoarang seem like a fun combination. Master of Fists and Master of Kicks

YO. KYLE. KING OF BLING TOURNAMENT. I dunno if anyone got a hold of you yet to inform, I know I've been busy, but I am eager to see you and your crew come down and play! We've got bonus prizes and STATE VERSUS STATE CREW BATTLES!

Also, most of us are on 360, check the TN Gamertag list at the first post. Send me a thing, I have no idea how to play against Naoto.

Name's right there

I'll add you sometime.

Connection might be ass though.

On the subject of TTT2, I personally have no interest in 3d fighters. I'm sticking with anime.

In that case, how would you feel about letting me borrow your copy? I can understand if not, but I promised to get my friend a copy of P4A, so there's no way I'm getting my hands on this game anytime soon.

I was planning on saying it depends on if my friends and I end up interested in playing it, but then I remembered MTN is this weekend. I won't have the money to get TTT2 on launch at full price AND MTN. Whoops. Looks like it'll be a while longer before I can pick it up. Sorry guys.

Depends. I haven't played a Tekken since 3, and that was before I took fighters seriously. Based on how it feels, it might be one of the games I want to get competitive in. Right now I'm looking at playing UNiB, P4A, and TTT2 seriously. In P4A it seems my niggas I train with might drop it for BB, and CP will probably renew my love for Blazblue even though I'm not really hyped for it as it stands.

I've read that Tekken is one of the hardest fighters to progress from mid to high level play, and that seems pretty exciting. The action looks brutal and satisfying, and the characters are interesting. I feel like Yoshimitsu has a metric fuck ton of potential and he'll be extremely fun to play.

Tekken is hard as fuck.

Way too hard for a game that has no mid-TN scene. I would play if I lived in Memphis, but short of that, no thankz.

Can Tag 2 be pair play or single player vs single player?

It has pair play. One of the biggest reasons why I am so excited for it. Team oriented gameplay adds a whole new dimension of fun to the fighter experience.

@People wanting to play Tekken: I'm not trying to keep you from playing or trying to downplay you in any way, but Tekken is not an easy game to pick up. It is not an easy game to play. It is not an easy game to do well in. Even if you do well in other games. I mean this incredibly neutral, do not take this offensively: Anyone from MTNG that gets into Tekken, I completely have the expectation that you drop it in under a year. Maybe even six months. FlyMike from the SRK side of things says it pretty well in this post. Prove me wrong, i'd love it. Tekken is a fantastic game, just like all the other games out there (minus Shaq-Fu, but even that has a silly place in everyone's heart) but it's just.... oh how to say this.. it's not what it looks like when you watch it being played. Again, i'm not saying this aggressively, don't take it the wrong way. I want to be wrong.

However, that brings me to a different point: I'm sick of this "I'm going to play something, be competitive, and probably even get legitimately good, but when this other game comes out, i'm gonna drop it so I can play that." and i'm sure a couple other people are, too. It just doesn't make sense to me to play something and have drive to achieve something to throw it away when the next gust of wind comes about. (not calling Volpe specifically out, he just reminded me of the general FGC that has this problem) Not having people to play in your area is one thing, but being subject to whimsy is another.

@Bishop: I already talked to Marcus earlier, but i'll repost it: Pair Play side tournament is okay with Jason, but it's not an official thing. I'm not in charge of the first half of the day.

Tekken is pretty complex from what I've read on the system mechanics and how you open people up in that game. I'm probably going to make things easier on myself and learn simpler characters like Lars and Forest so I can get the general feel of Tekken down.

I avoid this by assuming I'll suck at everything.

GG to Tad. His Kanji is really fun to play against. It's seriously different than any other Kanji I've played online, and that's awesome. :O

Speaking of Kanji, you guys might want to take note of this:

@Tekken I'm not good enough to play Tekken, so I don't. Memphis is amazing at that shit.

@Chandler: I'm like an autistic child in Persona. You are THE first Yu I fought in ranked, which I find most satisfying. My giblets tingled.

@Kyle: Too much fun with Naoto!

What if the said people were merely playing the game until something better for them came along? What if that's the only game they have to tide them over until another game comes out? What then? Is that still being subject to "whimsy"? What's wrong with dabbling in a game, maybe even sticking around long enough to learn a thing or two, and then moving on to what they're looking forward to?

@TTT2: I was thinking about the game, but none of the characters really call out to me honestly. It does look very fun though.

Something better doesn't come along.

If you need 'tiding' over then you are fat on the over saturation of the current market.

Yes, it's subject to being whimsy. Whimsical. Bouncing from game to game. You say it like it's an insult. What's wrong with being whimsy? I totally am.

On the 'what wrong with it' tip? Nothing. As long as you're honest about it.

What Tad said, plus It isn't necessary to stop playing the previous game that they put time into is my thought process.

HEY GUYS Jason just greenlighted Persona teams for this weekend! Can we get some excitement for that one?

@Tad: Your explanation made me lol, and made me feel fat :(. Screw you man! HAHA!!

@Milln: I can understand your logic, but your post sounded more like bashing people rather than just simply giving your opinion on things. To me, as long as people consider what they did with their time well-spent, then I see no problems.

Especially since the good thing about always playing fighters is that a certain set of fundamentals will carry over with you from each game.

I'm not bashing, persay, just expressing my dissatisfaction with people in fighting game communities all over. It just creates more and more splintering of a group at the worst possible time; a saturation.

@Milln: I see. I can feel you on that, especially since with so many games out it is REALLY hard to get a scene together that can open a game up to its fullest. I used to feel that way about BB, but now, I don't think I care about Fighting Game Scenes as much anymore. I don't even think I care about fighters that much anymore, lol.

Edit: I guess you need to be practicing too Volpe, you're going to be carrying us since I have no enthusiam to try anymore.
