SolxBaiken Posted September 8, 2011 Author Posted September 8, 2011 Uhhh first off I wasn't trying to say "why isn't my favorite character in" (FYI I hate Anna) gripe, but Anna was excluded because she allegedly plays to similar to Nina (which she doesn't). But then I look and we have 4 wrestler characters, sure they play differently it's just a little jarring to see how many of them made the cut is all. Sometimes you people...
Xechs Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 (edited) No surprise in those trailers, but I'm getting a bit more interested in this game with Rolento's inclusion. Edited September 9, 2011 by Xechs
SolxBaiken Posted September 12, 2011 Author Posted September 12, 2011 http://youtu.be/U_7nKT0hPDo As usual Street Fighter characters ruin everything, even something as simple as eating out... (seriously how does Rufus mistake Bob for Ken...)
Mightfo Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 (edited) (seriously how does Rufus mistake Bob for Ken...) isnt that a running joke with rufus or something mistakes blondes like abel for ken Uhhh first off I wasn't trying to say "why isn't my favorite character in" (FYI I hate Anna). uhhh that is not terribly apparent from this: and yet Crapcom couldn't let me have Anna? WTF is this bullshit!? but whatever Edited September 12, 2011 by Mightfo
YoYoCheese Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 As usual Street Fighter characters ruin everything, even something as simple as eating out... (seriously how does Rufus mistake Bob for Ken...) It's a running gag in SF. At one point he actually mistakes Cammy for Ken.
FormerlyUnknown Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 i actually enjoyed that trailer the most out of all of them, i like a little whimsey with my action, and that made me a bob fan
SolxBaiken Posted September 12, 2011 Author Posted September 12, 2011 Wow...Rufus is lamer than I thought...wait... He uses a stereotype that he himself is apart of...my....head.... Anyways sorry I payed 0 attention in SF4, only played arcade twice (Sakura in 4 and Juri in Super) so I am unaware of all the characters traits aside from Juri. Also Mightfo quit trying to antagonize me, sarcasm is exceedingly hard to reflect through text and the fact still remains the exclusion of Anna based on the fact she has a similar style to Nina (which aside for there idle stance is not true) isn't a good one since the game has 4 practitioners of Wrestling. I seriously could care less who makes it in/out of the game as I have very little interest in it, I was merely trying to make a jest at such a silly exclusion reason.
haketh Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 Goddamn, that Barrel scene, was the best thing Capcom has done character wise in so long.
Mightfo Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 lili's face doesnt look right..too round? oh well. also, heihachi looks weird. sf4-ized, i guess
SolxBaiken Posted September 13, 2011 Author Posted September 13, 2011 = A= ok... I updated the Characters & System section. I never thought I'd say this but Rolento looks dumb....I'm used to seeing the other SF characters in this style and Hugo and Poison look alright (by this game standards) but Rolento is just....weird...and of course I'm not pleased with either Heihachi or Lili, but eh. The only thing that could get me amp for SFxT would be the (PLAYABLE) inclusion of Kunimitsu and Alex (the Raptor, not SF III) the fact they were once again snuffed and added to the background makes my heart ache...looks like I'll have to wait for Tag HD to enjoy either one again ; w; So there are ow 26 characters in the roster will the site having a spot for 6 more (for a total of 32, not that bad actually); Rufus, Guy, and Cody have appeared in trailers but nothing has shown up, also Lee Chaolan was still rather visible in one shot and there is also evidence of Asuka, so could these be 5 of the 6 remaining?
Starlight777 Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Holy fuck what did they do to Heihachi? He looks like a grimey and greasy bum now! And SoBa if Capcom dares touch Mr.Chaolan with the vomit they call an artstyle I will disembowel a possum. Oh god Lili looks fat in the face. Now since that's out of my system I gotta say I'm curious of what those additions to the HUD mean.
haketh Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Heihachi is th first character to actually just plain offnd me with his shitty model.
furix Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 You guys like Ganguro girls? http://www.gametrailers.com/video/tgs-11-street-fighter/720617 http://www.gametrailers.com/video/tgs-11-street-fighter/720619 Hell, Ganguro guys too! :3c
Yoshara Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 I just figured out what went wrong with Capcoms Heihachi model. They never realized that they were not making Dr.Wily.
Akiro Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 "I can picture all the trolls teaming up with people and activating Pandora to kill off their partner so they cant play lol" Capcom what have you done.
SolxBaiken Posted September 14, 2011 Author Posted September 14, 2011 Youtube ver: Pandora is the single dumbest thing ever..... Stupid and pointless concept, and what's the purpose of making the purpose of such a tag oriented system only to say "hey get stronger just kill off your partner and loose all the cool stuff just to become BS" :\ Yeah I'm done with SFxT...
pktazn Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 Liliiiiii <3 Sigh they got me. Knew it would happen but still lol.
Yoshara Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 Pandora might be interesting depending on the risk reward factor of it, because if the buff is dependent on how much health the character had when they are sacrificed (ie; High health = long/good buff, and next to no health = almost non existant buff) then it might actually have some strategic use due to needing to sacrifice half of your team/health for it to be worth it, but if it does the same buff no matter what then that just means that you activate it every time a character is right next to death just so you can have a buff effectively making it a brain dead mechanic. tl;dr: We don't know enough to say if it adds or removes depth from the game yet.
Kyosuke Kagami Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 I am betting it Pandora = X-Factor with even more bullshit lol ono
RadRed Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 Seth Killian went out of his way on his Twitter to mention that it's not a comeback mechanic. Not to say that it probably won't end up that way regardless. Source. This game looks fun and the online features are absolutely fantastic. I just really want to see more of the Tekken characters that haven't been teased already. Xiayou and Lee Chaolan need to be in this game.

It's probably for people who dont wanna learn both characters at once, to ease people in. Sort of like Skullgirls single character option, which will probably end up bad in the long run due to assists, red health, DHC, etc unless the way damage scales is just absurd. Otherwise, yeah, it gives up cool things like tag cancel, so I dont see much strategy in it.. Pandora might be interesting depending on the risk reward factor of it, because if the buff is dependent on how much health the character had when they are sacrificed (ie; High health = long/good buff, and next to no health = almost non existant buff) then it might actually have some strategic use due to needing to sacrifice half of your team/health for it to be worth it, but if it does the same buff no matter what then that just means that you activate it every time a character is right next to death just so you can have a buff effectively making it a brain dead mechanic. tl;dr: We don't know enough to say if it adds or removes depth from the game yet. Good points. Despite whiny haters, i am cautiously optimistic for this. It's not as conservative as SF4 or as insane as MVC3, and the game invokes a lot of character love, and things like tag cancel are really awesome, and i like that alpha counters actually(at least, in one build) have no invincibility but reward you with a juggle. High reward but potentially smart defensive mechanic.(depending on how fast they are) I just hope capcom doesnt fuck it up. Main worry is if the mixup or meter usage revolves around unblockables or if the cross assault ends up broken...or if capcom just does typical stupid shit with character movesets. Hecatom Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 "I can picture all the trolls teaming up with people and activating Pandora to kill off their partner so they cant play lol" Capcom what have you done. sounds like something that i would love to do >:D
Mightfo Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 also, i like how they showed rolento comboing jab into walking jab. rolentoâ„¢
Yoshara Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 Apparently Pandora mode is very high risk due to it killing not only one teammate for activating it, but it will also kill the character who is affected by it if they don't win by the time it runs out.
SolxBaiken Posted September 14, 2011 Author Posted September 14, 2011 Toro and Kuro the cats confirmed for Vita version...
