Beening Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 I was wondering since I enjoy Rachel so much, but also the game, is there a reason someone can't have fun using 5 characters seriously? I get the whole use two people to be competitive but with Rachel most of her stuff is so ingrained that unless I find someone amazing it doesn't feel challenging anymore, I have been using Hazama, Lambda, Mu, and recently Ragna because they are all fun. What would be a good limit? BTW Rachel and Mu will always be my favorites because they have such a fluid and awsome gameplay mechanic to me, they are both "trap" characters, and for most of CS1 they were the underdogs that held a special place in my heart. Labmbda was cool but all my friends she-dogged me for using her when she was bermench a.k.a. Nu-13 and Hazama makes me laugh a lot. Ragna seemed like a good test since his PR changes a lot and he seemed to have those long-meaty combos 2D are known for. I am sorry if this is not the best place for this question but I truly value the input of all the great people here could any one please help me out?

If you're having fun playing multiple characters, I don't see why you should stop. Well, unless you're aiming to compete seriously and playing multiple characters is making your main worse or something, but even then, all that means is that you should play your main a bit more inbetween rounds with the other characters, right?

DSveno Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 For some reasons, if I stop playing Rachel for 3 or 4 days, I tend to drop my combo a lot, so I have to keep myself from pandering around too much. I feel like I have to put much more effort into mastering Rachel than with other characters (previous one was Lambda and Makoto, then I drop them in favor of Rachel and Platinum after 1.03).

Thank you both so much, and no I am not forgetting Rach, I just get frustrated people give me a hard time over it, but a few people have complemented me on how well I can use each of my characters. Rachel is still my best by far and the things I learn on this site help me tremendously, I even made a couple vids I thought might help using all of my cahracters. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E8ilxOlYO-4 I just really love this game and I have more fun with a variety of characters but Rachel is my main through and through.

TD Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 l really wish we could edit color palettes in bb. l have a few great ideas. first off i'd get the CT pink palette back for rachel (the one with silver hair), and a much better shade of blue than the depressing one she has now - seriously, looking at that thing makes me feel all sad for no reason. l'd give litchi some nice stripper colors to wear also, l know she'd like that.
gli Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 Execution leveled up. I'm starting to only miss lv.2 j.2C only due to actually mistiming j.2C and not wrong jump-cancel direction or wrong wind direction. Need to get it to like 99.9% execution rate or something.
