Kujikawa Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 Hakumen with more damage and better anti airs is gonna suuuucckkkk, hes gonna be a close second for me Hakumen isn't nice. Luckily, I don't know any good Hakumens (Bad in a way) =) I still have a lot of trouble with CS2 Valk so I'm gunna' despise it in CSE.
Tari Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Yeah TK Crescent is annoying. You can beat it by just dashing at her > whatever, but that seems way too risky. 5B has faster start up in EX, right? Do you know by how many frames? Most of us are assuming it's at most 1 frame faster, seeing as how 2A > 5B is still not a combo. The hitbox also extends faster, though, and no one's sure how much faster that is.
Kujikawa Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 http://www.dustloop.com/wiki/index.php?title=Platinum_the_Trinity_(BBCSE) Yeah the wiki says it has 11 frame start-up. Thanks. ~Wiki page looks beauitful and filled with loli madness <3 I think I'm in love~~
Moy_X7 Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 On that wiki, it says that the start-up for her Astral is 3(super flash) + 25 whereas right now on the DL frame data chart it's 6(super flash) + 31. Has her Astral really been buffed that much in terms of start-up? Also, what about Air Persia's projectile invul? Does it last long enough to have any real practical uses? Jumping over Death Spike and landing a FC would be lulz.
A.X.I.S. Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Actually Air persia projectile invul lasts until you hit the ground or press the button. I was able to go through Noel's drives with it just for shits. I went through Arakunes bell bug with it landed and ran before it hit me. Personal favorite: Bangs nails.
Chaoschao222 Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 So like... could it go through Arakune's Astral [horizontal version]? I honestly don't even know if Arakune's Astral is a projectile, though :x
Urichinan Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 So like... could it go through Arakune's Astral [horizontal version]? I honestly don't even know if Arakune's Astral is a projectile, though :x I think Arakune's Astral is a fully invincible, physical attack. It's going to be really fun plowing through zoning in Extend, just jumping through everything and getting a Fatal.

Bwahaha, I see it being useful as hell against Jin's 2D, 5D, and 6D since those have a shitload of recovery, hell I'd even do it against his Ice Wave too just to save me a primer. Same deal with Mu's 236D if you start a combo and there's a laser coming your way to break your combo, I pogo stick right through that shit lol.

Moy_X7 Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 So is the Astral data there accurate or not? If her Astral really got buffed like that then it's going to make for an even more legit anti-zoning tool. Also, I need my fellow Platnums' input on this: http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?12992-CSE-Jin-vs-Platinum

I would start on the vs. Rachel, vs. Tager for Plat too, if I could play a few matches. I mean why would you create a room called "EU" then put it to 4 bars is beyond me... Also, I need my fellow Platnums' input on this: http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?12992-CSE-Jin-vs-Platinum We don't have correct frame data for CSE yet, so any up there is the same as CS2. Also, that covers most of the Jin vs Plat matchup, but leaves out some of Plat's new answers to Jin's stuff (like 236Aing through projectiles).
Moy_X7 Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 I mentioned Air Persia very briefly in the Neutral: Long Range section but since I don't have the game and can't test the effectiveness of this myself, then I'll just leave it as is for now.
Kujikawa Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 What's this about Platinum having a jC > j2C loop on Jin?
Moy_X7 Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 She has a j.C > j.2C loop on everyone as long as they're standing. She has it on CSII but instead of j.C > j.2C you do delayed j.B > j.2C. An example would look like 5A > 5C > JC > j.C > j.2C > 5A > 5C > JC > j.C > j.2C > 5A > 5C > Mami. In CSII you do something like 5A > 5C > JC > delayed j.B > j.2C > 5A > etc.

Moy_X7 Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 It's a good way to add a bit of extra damage to your mid-screen combos. However, you're better off doing 5A > 5C > Mami near and in the corner as you'll get more damage out of it as opposed to the j.B/j.C > j.2C loop.
Kujikawa Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 (edited) An example would look like 5A > 5C > JC > j.C > j.2C > 5A > 5C > JC > j.C > j.2C > 5A > 5C > Mami. Against Jin, unless I'm doing something wrong, the Mami will not connect from a 5A, 2B or 5B starter. Edited January 7, 2012 by Kujikawa
Moy_X7 Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Actually that was just me speculating since I don't have the game myself lololol I guess you could omit the second set of 5A > 5C > JC > j.C > j.2C and just do 5A > 5B > 2B > 5C > Mami after the first set, see if that works. Then again, it wouldn't be a loop anymore XD

I only got mine today, you know if Plat's itemless corner combo/s is still the same (including the bubbleless one), since they all still work.
Spud Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 I still haven't played Extend yet, I'm just wondering: are you guys overall satisfied or disappointed with her turnout?

You get more options with the Bat in the corner and the Hammer Loop works with the Super Hammer now but that's all I know.
Kujikawa Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 (edited) I still haven't played Extend yet, I'm just wondering: are you guys overall satisfied or disappointed with her turnout? Haven't played much, but her buffs on pretty much all her items feels really good. Her damaged being nerfed isn't too much of a worry cuz' of it. Her changes to 6C and Air Persia are strange and take awhile to get used too, but they can be really useful as well. However, I really miss having loads of heat to work with now that CDT has become an ender to most of her corner stuff which means less counter assaults and more blocking =( The creativity of her new item combos is nice too. Overall she feels more solid and I'm satisfied so far with all this new stuff. Though despite her buffs, I don't think any of are match-ups are likely to change a lot meaning she's still not a very good character... but I guess you can blame the random factor on that. A.X.I.S. Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 FYI Last Tier list I saw Plat was considered B+ tier. With that said I like the new Plat, she feels the same but now she can be played more aggressively.
