Yggjrasil Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Or I'm thinking of CSE damage, CS2 damage was dumb lol.
Zeron_X25 Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Or I'm thinking of CSE damage, CS2 damage was dumb lol. ok that's probably it. You kinda mind fucked me there.
Yggjrasil Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 my bad, I'm totally used to CSE Plat now, CS2 seems like a dream now...But that damage she did was just too much, like CS1 Valk but cute.

Cirno Posted December 29, 2011 Author Posted December 29, 2011 So 5C > mami > 5C > 2C > bubble > 6C > 22C > 5C > 6A > mami > whatever oki is the optimal combo? 5C > Mami > 5C > 2C > Bubble > 6C > 22C > 6A > 22C > 5C > 6A > Mami was optimal itemless in CS2. CSE is basically the same, but with 6A > 6C > 22C instead.
Moy_X7 Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Quick Q: What's the most damage I can get from 5C > Mami in the corner without the use of items? 4966 if you're doing 5C > Mami > 5C > 2C > Bubble > 6C > 22C > 6A > 22C > 5C > 6A > Mami, which is the optimal combo as Cirno said. I'll try my hand at a combo video too, mostly scraps from what you guys don't use lol. I'll probably use something from Yousei Teikoku or Kajiura Yuki, don't know who they work with. Those company cats have been fairly lenient with me, they give me warnings and block my stuff on certain countries but they never take my videos down lol.
Kujikawa Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Is this 6C > 22C > 6A > 22C > 5C timing difficult? Or has the timing not changed at all from CS2?
Cirno Posted December 29, 2011 Author Posted December 29, 2011 It's 6C > 22C > 6A > 6C > 22C > 5C, and the timing is slightly trickier than it used to be.

Tari Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 (edited) Some basic corner bat combos from various starters: 5B > 5C > Mami: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UozhKUuj2Ag (1 bat, 46 meter gain, 50 meter use, 5180 dmg) 2B > 5B > 5C > Mami: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ra-3uWH2GLs (2 bats, 44 meter gain, 3414 dmg) 5A > 5A > 5B > 5C > Mami: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yc2dzcETZnM (1 bat, 39 meter gain, 2711 dmg) For the first combo, you can swap out the super ender with something else for a bit more meter gain and less damage. For the second combo, you can omit the second bat and do an air ender if you'd like, or go straight into 5C > 6A > Mami. Etc. Basic shit, feel free to mess around. Off to Gundam today~. edit: turn down your youtube volume before watching the videos, or remove your headphones, or turn down your computer volume or something. arcade sounds are super loud, unfortunately. Yggjrasil Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 (edited) Bubbleless Hammer Loop is easier to land in CSE, plus it still gives insane amount of heat. 2B > 5C > Mami > 5C > 214D (pan, bat, cat) > 6C > 22C > Dash 5C > 2C > 5D (item equip) > Hammer Loop > 5C > 6A > Mami = 4.4k and 66 heat gain. Edited December 30, 2011 by Yggjrasil Weird notation for Hammer Loop. hjc >j.C > j.C > j.D > 5C > j.B > j.C j.C > j.D
Urichinan Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 Hammer Loops prorate so terribly now. =( Has anybody been messing around with an Installed Cat Mace? I think it's supposed to force ground bounce, so that might be a good combo tool.
A.X.I.S. Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 No its the combo rate and base damage changes. I can do bubbleless hammer loop now too lol. 66 heat from a 2B starter is real nice.
Moy_X7 Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 I can never, ever do the sj.C > j.C > j.D hammer loop variant, I can never pick them up after j.D(2). By the way, does Rachel still get caught by the bubble after doing 6A > 236B > Bubble oki? Bitch always gets caught by it, sometimes it's a red beat but most of the time it's a blue beat but that shit ruins my oki since you can't get much out of the already heavily prorated combo.
Yggjrasil Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 Haven't experimented on Rachel yet. I truly hope they did fix that. Her fatass laying hitbox screwed up my bubble oki, like Tager sometimes, but Tager is understandable.

I was testing this just now to see if I could find a way to keep it from OTGing her (In CS2) and found out that you can do 236B > TK Swallow Moon > Grab and it'll actually grab her out of the slide. EDIT: Okay, so this is height dependent, you can always grab her out of the sliding state, but you have to hit with Mami towards the later part of the move. Platinum has to recover quick enough to do Swallow Moon > Throw. It could be a pretty useful tactic for unexpected extra damage. Edited December 30, 2011 by Urichinan
Tari Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 It air-throws her out of the groundslide? What? O_o And I believe bubble still picks her up if you put it out too early. Her hitbox hasn't changed. It's been the same hitbox since CT.

Does this happen with 6A > 236B > 3C > Bubble oki?
Moy_X7 Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Haven't tried it, I always do Bubble oki after 236B because of the sliding effect that gives you enough time to set up the Bubble AND TK Swallow.
Urichinan Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Does this happen with 6A > 236B > 3C > Bubble oki? No, because 3C is emergency techable.
Kujikawa Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 No, because 3C is emergency techable. Ok, thanks. Btw, wtf is going on in your signature?
Tari Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Doesn't it still pick Rachel up if she chooses not to emergency tech, unless you delay it? Don't have a PS3 on hand to double check that, though.

Don't have a PS3 on hand to double check that, though. Of course, because she'd then be grounded, thus she can be OTG'd. But you can't just do 3C > Dream Sally and have it combo like Mami > Sally does. @MagicalSymphony It's 3 faces flipping a bunch of tables. If you click it you'll see why. That match was too epic!
Moy_X7 Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 Questions: 1.) Does the hammer loop still whiff on Hakumen and Hazama? It usually whiffs at the second set (sj.B > j.C > JC > j.C > j.D) 2.) How do you guys feel about IAD Swallow > j.C cross-ups? Do you think they're worth the risk if you have your back against the corner and you wanna trade spots with the opponent?

Do you think they're worth the risk if you have your back against the corner and you wanna trade spots with the opponent? 1) That combo does work on Hakumen and Hazama, you have to add delays into the second air combo for it to work. 2) It seems a bit too situational. It could be useful when done randomly and unexpectedly, but I wouldn't rely on it.
