She's not even that good now, what should be buffed to make her better? I mean Ragna can get 3k+ off everything and he's top tier.

thats WHY hes top tier, among many many other reasons.

characters shouldnt excel in all/most areas.

Plat is a solid mid tier, and thats perfect for me. Viable, but not fucking retarded.

A good buff to her could break her, becauses the items and their random nature are her biggest strength and weakness at the same time. Xie wrote some good overviews of the characters if you wanna read some good opinions.

But i'll just say, I have played matches that i got every item i wanted the moment i wanted.... and rolled face.

And times where i dont get the item i need period. Ever. And get rolled.

Its just how it rolls.

Platinum isn't top tier because she doesn't have reliable tools to deal with every matchup. Unlike character such as Ranga or Valkenhayn, Platinum can't base matchups on how she can use her items against the opponent, because there is no way to control that. Naturally she's bad against rushdown because she doesn't have consistent escape options. And she's not good against zoners because she doesn't have consistent approach options.

She has the other tools that make a good character, lots of mixup, great oki, good projectiles, great anti-airs, air-to-airs, jump ins, frame traps, pokes. She's just not consistent, and that's where her downfall lies.

2A > 5B should combo

5B should be jump cancelable

2C should lose the repeat proration, and return to CS2 status

Bombs should have a horizontal option

That's all I really want, I don't mind how she is at the moment, because she's already a very good character.

On topic though, I agree with what everyone has said so far, Platinum doesn't really need a buff, she's also a gamble type character so a too much big of a buff would just make her stupid. She's not meant to be a really strong character anyways even by design. She's pretty versatile in many situations, also I like her in this edition due to her being more comfortable to play with.

Also when I heard about the bomb throw change, I was under the impression that they were amiable on any direction. Sad that their limit went down to 3 instead of 4, during matches I always forget that last bomb does not exist anymore.

Although if I had to make a request I would of liked 236236D to be executable on air.

I like the item arc's pan/missile/cat hammer/hammer all have different speeds, arc's, and hit boxes.

When installed the arc and hit boxes become different as well.

Actually a two hit 6C would be pretty awesome and would make item tossing more run to use when you want to get rid of your useless item. On top of that more combos and pressure abilities will open up. And oh, I thought bombs were 4...but either way I still have to remember those extra bombs no longer exist which blows whenever I try to "use" those bombs in the heat of battle and suddenly I just perform an item summon. Which was rewarded by a punch to the face, or death depending on the circumstances...that happened often on my first two days of extended lol.

Read the combo thread, it'll explain how to do the 22C followups.

On the note of 6C > Swallow Moon, it's not a TK, you have to delay the Swallow Moon after 6C for just a small bit, and then do j.C.

And yes, those are very, very important to learn.

Combos on crouching, this messes me up but I don't play the character, it really shouldn't effect someone who is a Plat main though. It's still pretty silly lol

With that Range? Tager would never be able to beat Plat with a buff like that lol. A compromise would be losing the jump cancel on 5C, in which case you would lose most of your options late string, which imo would be pretty bad for her, so I guess it would even out.

If you guys know anything. I know very basic bits and pieces, and i can experiment if no one knows and report my findings.

Mid screen, corner, grounded, in the air, counter hit, i dont care. I just want something ^^

We did lose a lot of mid-screen anti-air combos because of this.

Like CH 2C > Dash > 2C > Dash > 6A > 6C > j.236C > j.C > Dash > 6A > 236B (> Dash > 5C > 2C > 214C > 236B) which was 3356 DMG and 4026 DMG from a good hit-confirm.

EDIT: Or CH 2C > Dash > 2C > Dash > 5C > 2C > 236B > Dash > 5C > 2C > 214C > Step Back > 6C > 22C > 5C > 6A > 236B which was 5389 DMG off of a mid-screen anti-air that carried almost full screen. I miss that.

I like CH > Dash > 6A > 6C > 22C > Dash > 5C > 6A > 236B it carries really far and does great damage. I think you can add 5C at the start before 6A, not completely sure though.

Just had to point out that Rachel's super long-range poke is no longer jump cancellable.

Also, if you have awesome confirm, 2A > 5C is a legitimate string, iirc.

Your timing on 22C is wrong. You have to hit them with the end of 22C's animation, so you recover fast enough to hit with 5C. Try inputting 22C faster.

I'm exempting 5D during the combo. Can't get the 66 DC to connect after 22C.

You're doing 22C WAAAAAAAAAY too late, you need to hit with 22C as close to the end of it's animation as possible. Which means you want them to land onto 22C, not land with them during 22C.

Go to the combo thread and watch the guide provided so you have a visual aid on the timing for 22C.

Also good stuff with the video, I think seeing the *wrong* timing actually helped me understand what the right timing should be, I never actually connected this link either. Whenever they said "hit with the end of the animation" I always thought it meant "input it as late as you can" instead of "input it early so only the last active frames hit".
