Hmmm looking at bus tickets out of curiosity, a round trip to brooklyn is about 140$, a ride is about 9h, I'd do it by night and sleep on the way in/out, this is really some impulsive planning and probably fits within the boundaries of what one would define as "YOLO"

So I tell myself... why not? I don't know if it'll be this one or next month's TSB, but I want to see places :D

Getting the bus seems fairly straightforward, the only thing I need to get sorted out (which I'm too lazy to do just about now) are the following:

-How far is NL arcade from the Greyhound arrival location? Can I make it by myself or do I need someone's help (at least for my first time, be gentle with me *>_<*) The only thing I know is I can ride a bus straight to Brooklyn.

-Do I leave on the same evening? I think I arrive something like 8 AM on saturday if I take the night bus. As for leaving, I have either a bus early - Something like 8 AM as well - on sunday morning (which implies finding a place to sleep) or leaving around 7:30 on the same day.

Decisions decisions

Where does the Greyhound bus arrive in BK? I doubt it'd be that hard to get there, unless it stops in the middle of nowhere without trains/buses nearby.

find the cheapest bus you can, if it drops you off in Manhattan or w/e doesn't really matter, public transportation is pretty much everywhere.

If you have $5.00 to spare (lol, the tariff went up), then you should just take the B69 > B35. I take the B35 to NL as well, but it looks like the Greyhound Bus drops you off near Prospect Park, right? I'm somewhat familiar with that area too. You shouldn't have a tough time finding your way to NL.

If going to Next Level is an issue (which is understandable), why doesn't someone just run the biweekly from their house? Granted that they have space of course, and are willing to have (some) total strangers over.

so when i can come over then? :3

That'd be pretty sweet of you or anyone else for the matter, but before we get to that point, I'll keep ya updated whether or not I'll be coming this month. Probably by next week.

As long as I'm in my house, it's open for playing. If you wanna play something I don't though, bring a friend.

This is why I don't go unless I know a good amount of people are going and plan to play BB/GG (one or two people to play is not worth $15+)

You don't have to do anything to have an expanded community. Learn the games you WANT to play because you WANT to play the actual game. If you're in the 5 boroughs, you have access to people who play any of them.

Fucking Fiidoskin up in Russia has no one to play these games with and he still sticks to it.

I'm taking the necessary steps to come next week. Just getting info on how I can get my tickets and general info as well on the bus ride as well. I'll keep you updated when I have all the needed precise info on this trip.

Sorry for double posting, but as this affects my planning of next weekend, I figured it needed a bump

Since it's easter, I get a day off either friday or monday, choice is mine. Now this wouldn't be very yolo of me to stay one day and leave before the whole event is over when I have a day off :/, so I'm considering taking an extra day. Now the situation is... where do I sleep and how much does it costs me? Am I better off arriving a day before or after? The schedule for the bus rides will change depending on these little details so I want to know what you guys recommend me.

Is there a nearby hotel? Is it affordable? Could we do some *intimate* post-tourney casuals in there if you guys are willing to bring setups (Because I won't carry monitor + console on a bus obviously)?

Let me know ASAP, I'd appreciate

Ironically, there's a hotel around the block from Next Level.

It's called King's Hotel - apparently, the rates are varying.

my gut feeling tells me this should be your last resort. I feel like someone might be able to house you. maybe. i wish i could ;___;

well we are generally at the arcade pretty late and if you come down we will definitely go eat someplace (TAISHO??? HOTPOT???) SO what are your two options? Come in for friday, then what time would you leave after saturday?

Reading reviews out of curiosity:

-People say the price/quality ratio feels pretty spot on. 144 lowest rate for the night of saturday (which is manageable, I'll call them and ask directly the price if I reserve ahead of time)

-A few complaints left and right about how people like to party and you can hear stuff from the other rooms and bla blabla

-Which leads me to my final point: There's a Karaoke!!!!!!!!!!! If you are on the first floors, you can hear the karaoke bar all night. #SendTSBToKaraoke #Onegai #MaybeSenpaiWillNoticeMe

On and on, a lot more recommendations over negative reviews. I'll still think about it over the next week though, but it's a possibility.
