Jyosua Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Yeah but they widened his hurtbox on 5A. Before, it reflected the fact he's a skinny motherfucker, now he's got like Ragna's hurtbox. Then again, I would be perfectly okay if they gave him Noel's hitbox, lol.
Chris Chaos Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 What the fuck am I looking at? These hurtboxes are in odd places as Moy stated. OK, I get it, Jin needed to get nerfed so they made him bottom 4 IIRC, and making his hurboxes extend further out than his hitboxes was the answer? That makes no sense to me, and now I see how 2A and j.2C has been nerfed, I'm just SMH.

Doesn't that just make it so the move can never beat another? At best, you'll trade. At worst, you'll be counterhit.
Dont_Explain Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 These are some silly hurtboxes, but damn guys it's not the end of the world. But then again CS2 Jin apparently didn't have hurtbox on 5A until he was about to retract his hand (If I'm looking at that right). I guess that's why I always got hit with 5A a lot trying to jump in. Him having 2A anti air didn't help either. Ehh, next game you guys will probably better than Ragna again.

We had our moment back in CT: Shake out of Frostbite (Free BlackBeats for those who couldn't combo) and a GDLK j.B (Stupid combos because of this, I miss this so much ), there was more but those were the most important of all the dumb shit we had.
Moy_X7 Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Don't forget 5D breh, that move was legit back in the day lol.
Dont_Explain Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Thankfully I wasn't around for CT. I don't think I could have dealt with shake out ice.
Jyosua Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Shakeout Ice was Da Bessss and it'll be making a return in P4A. So excited
Jourdal Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 (edited) These are some silly hurtboxes, but damn guys it's not the end of the world. Says the ragna player with silly J.C Shin, history dictates, jin will be top/high tier in odd numbered games. Severin says there is no good jin there is only a good ragna. Last game Jin was the good ragna, this game he is not. There can only be one good ragna so it should be Jin in BB3....i hope lol. Me an Omni had offline jin mirrors in ct the other day, CT jin was so funny. CH DPC>5C and im just like....hahaha. We had a race to see who would land the JB vortex first...and like true scumbags bursted whenever one was about to land the combo. Bring back jb vortex ! Edited April 30, 2012 by Jourdal
Chris Chaos Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 (edited) Don't forget 5D breh, that move was legit back in the day lol. WTH you're right! How could I have forgotten about that? @ Jourdal: You're probably right, Jin has been up and down every game. Honestly, I would just love to have j.B back because that move was really silly. But Ragna wasn't bad in CS2, Granted Jin was better in CS2 than Ragna... but still, Ragna wasn't that far off IMO. Then again, this could be my personal match up experience against Ragna getting in the way of my judgement. Edited April 30, 2012 by Shinsyn
Jourdal Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Idk...i never got the final verdict on CS2 ragna. I've heard: -he was really solid -the most balanced ragna -low tier -shit tier (especially when kaqn loses to high tier characters lololol) For me...ragna is ragna, his tier is irrelevant to me lol i always think he's a solid character with telegraphed blockstrings.
Dont_Explain Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 (edited) Says the ragna player with silly J.C Well.....ok it's dumb, but it kinda didn't match where the sword was swinging (the bottom part in CS2 didn't have a hitbox), but then they went overboard and made the hitbox bigger than necessary. A huge sword does need a huge hitbox though (Godtier logic right there). My predictions for BB3: j.C will stay the same, but 5B will get nerfed and have a bigger hurtbox around it. Also his damage output will probably be lower than CS2 and they will make Gauntlet Hades an overhead people can react to and make it more punishable. Idk...i never got the final verdict on CS2 ragna. I've heard: -he was really solid -the most balanced ragna -low tier -shit tier (especially when kaqn loses to high tier characters lololol) The bolded stuff is how I felt. I never really ran into good Makotos so I usually beat them just fine. Noel was...... Most Hazamas online dropped every combo and they do it 10x more now in EX. I only see Lich consistently do loops online. Jin I didn't realize how good he was and I thought Tetsu was just a god that made him look S-tier, but even though Jin was supposed to be good I didn't hate him. CS2 made me feel good about my character. Edited April 30, 2012 by Dont_Explain

eQualz Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Oh wow. Ehh, you guys should stop posting these hit-box related stuff unless you want to make us(me) sad. Though I'd like to see how j.B looks like when it hits in front and below. @Moy - Did you ever test max damage off DP D(1st hit) > RC > stuff? I go for the 6C > 214A route which nets... 4.2k with 2C / 5B pick up 4k 5C / 5B 3.9k 5C / 5A 5C > 6C seems unstable. If you hit 5C too late 6C won't combo and if you do it too early 623B is going to whiff.

Scottie Yosh Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 wtf.. I never knew Jin j.b was hitting you with his clothing.. ALL THESE YEARS..!!

I'll test it tonight and see what I can get out of it.I'm guessing that you already hit the max damage with the 2C variant.
xlolxlolx Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 weve know that his hitboxes were ass since cs1 :/ remember the 5c bullshit? deal with it
Jyosua Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 Not sure if this is useful or not, but I found out that if you confirm into 5C>6C>2D on crouching confirm, if you dash and hit them with a 2A you can easily crossunder and prepare for their tech.
Jyosua Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 isnt that old Derp. Wasn't sure if it was either useful or known. I take it that it can be useful then? I wasn't sure if allowing the opponent to tech was a good idea, despite having achieved the crossunder.
