BladeOfJustice7 Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 Sup pre-Hakumens? I was looking for a online sparring Jin partner. Anyone interested? *looking at shinsyn*
Haven Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 I hear ya man. I play ragna because I find his combos fun, I had Bang on my card during the beginning of the CT days though but Jin took over and the rest is history. Funny enough, I play Ragna and Bang as well, but I also play Lambda, Hazama, Tsubaki, Platinum, and Hakumen. :P I have put too much work into Jin to drop him at this point, plus he looks like he is going to have fun new things to try out in CSX. I love gimmicks and an answer to every situation too, allows me to be both gimmicky and solid.
Haven Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 I heard about you Haven A few people have recently... I always thought I was just an unknown netplayer lol
Jake D Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 A few people have recently... I always thought I was just an unknown netplayer lol Im glad I quit netplay. I'll try and win Michigan Masters for my niggas
Jourdal Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 I hear ya man. I play ragna because I find his combos fun, I had Bang on my card during the beginning of the CT days though but Jin took over and the rest is history. I feel like i can freestyle so much more with rags...probably because jin comes with pre swag....sekkajin may be lame but his sekkajin basic bnb looks way better than most other characters lol. I chose to main jin aaaages ago, back in 08 when the first trailer was just jin ragna noel and tager. I play gatekeeper....in CT had to get passed my Ragna/Nu to get me to play jin, same thing to this day..unless i'm fighting SRZ...i go to jin asap lol. My CT bang was strictly trolling and mashing out BS daifunkas...i played half the cast in early CS2. Nice to see Jin general a bit more active lol.
Chris Chaos Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Sup pre-Hakumens? I was looking for a online sparring Jin partner. Anyone interested? *looking at shinsyn* Man, I would love to fight your Hakumen but my XBOX is in Michigan ATM, I'm living in Chicago and all I have is a PS3. I'll hit you up next month bro, Sorry. You play WAY too many characters bro for my taste LOL. I dabble with other characters but I'm not solid with them but yeah, I've been riding BlazBlue on my Ice Car since the beginning, it wouldn't make sense for me to drop him for another ride you know. Im glad I quit netplay. I'll try and win Michigan Masters for my niggas You better, since I can't be there, LOL! I believe in you Jay, if I can make AXIS rage when I play with Jin, you can beat him. And the others, I'm pretty sure you got them locked down. I got on the BB train 3 days late, I was out to sea and I came back and a friend of mine was like "Yo, BlazBlue is out!" I asked what that was and he said: "A New fighter by the company that gave us Guilty Gear". ... I went directly to the nearest Gamestop that had a copy as soon as I walked off the boat. Nice to see Jin general a bit more active lol. I know right! It does help bring the community of Jin players together to an extent. BTW, did you guys see Solex's Matches?! I was hoping he'd pull it off against 2GB and he came so damn close!
LuminAbyss Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 I like playing Jin because I love being able to do things in the air. Fuck your air normals, Ragna.
Jourdal Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 @Shin yeaaaaah Solex was on point, America needs more jin hype . I heard stunedge was had won a looot of tournies with Jin in CT but he's off in japan being way better than us and probably sparring with tetsu lol.
Chris Chaos Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Tsubaki's air normals are worse. Just saying. Holy crap there are non-Jin players posting! We're finally a legit General Thread, LOL!
Haven Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Holy crap there are non-Jin players posting! We're finally a legit General Thread, LOL! Yep. xD I hopped on the BB train on my birthday, November 10th... I was craving a fighter this generation, and my friend introduced me to BB and how it was the spiritual successor to Guilty Gear, and I saw a guy using my favorite element and a swift katana... So I was in there lol. I was a bit late on the BB train, so I missed Stunedge back when he used to 360 netplay. That would of been a fun experience. Solex did rep real hard, I was very happy to see that. I think Shadowred was in grand finals against Lord Knight for Season's Beatings in a video I saw, but I don't know for sure. That would of been hype to see.
Jourdal Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Oh there's a video? edit: here it is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6yDVXXAKfIA Anyway SRZ told me he sent LK to losers, and beat Jan (who went to SBO last year) in winners finals. LK came from losers and reset the bracket 3-0, then SRZ was up 2-0 but LK came back again to take it 3-2.
Jourdal Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Okay...saw some Miya matches...he's not tetsu..he's not ren...hell he's not even Yutta but he's doing better as of late...some things i noticed.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1YcYWL_uJg0#t=57s 5B>5C>sekka>dash 5C>2C>2D is this the new hotness? wonder how much we can get off of this and if it works on everyone... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1YcYWL_uJg0#t=7m53s so.....CH A ice car links? was this always possible? or is this also the new hotness
TCSyd Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 I'm pretty sure you can combo after CH 214A in CS2.
shtkn Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Okay...saw some Miya matches...he's not tetsu..he's not ren...hell he's not even Yutta but he's doing better as of late...some things i noticed.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1YcYWL_uJg0#t=57s 5B>5C>sekka>dash 5C>2C>2D is this the new hotness? wonder how much we can get off of this and if it works on everyone... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1YcYWL_uJg0#t=7m53s so.....CH A ice car links? was this always possible? or is this also the new hotness http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1YcYWL_uJg0#t=57s 5B>5C>sekka>dash 5C>2C>2D is this the new hotness? wonder how much we can get off of this and if it works on everyone... sekkajin > 5C > 2C > 2D has been around since cs2. you need to delay your 5C a lot, so before it wasn't available as often since sekkajin prorated pretty badly. CH 214A on crouchers worked in cs2 (and i think cs1 and ct) as well.
Jourdal Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 @TCSyd, ah okay i didnt know that...after the throw nerf i never really used a ice car anymore @shtkn i knew it was available...but like double sekkajins no one really used them lol. I'm basically still wondering what the most optimal midscreen thing to do is now.
Moy_X7 Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 I'm doing 5B > 5C > Sekkajin > dashing 5C > 2C > sj.D > AD > j.2C > j.C > dashing 5B > 2B > 5C > 3C > 214C or 5B > 5C > Sekkajin > dashing 5C > sj.2C > j.D > AD > j.2C > j.C > dashing 5B > 2B > 5C > 214C when I get my hands on the game. Whichever builds more meter. I wonder if we can do 5B > 5C > Sekkajn > dashing 5C > 2C > 2D > dashing 6B > Sekkajin > 6C > 214C. Might be a bit of a stretch but it should build a bit of meter if it does work. Does 214A go over Tager's 2D or did it get him during recovery? I'm gonna go ahead and try it out, I could probably do that on reaction but it's not like Tagers use 2D that often.
vanfleihight Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 So I guess 6C > 2D still works on crouching if you immediately do 2D?
Chris Chaos Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 So I guess 6C > 2D still works on crouching if you immediately do 2D? I have no idea but it would be cool if that were the case, but what are the chances of that happening? If the opponent is crouching, the chances of them blocking are pretty high right? Also, I found Jin mirrors to be fun as of late, I'm learning a lot of things and adding a lot to my arsenal. @ Jourdal: Miya is impressing me with the new Jin. It's nice to actually see Jin winning in some extend videos, the few I've seen he hasn't been so hot.
cadacus_ater Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 (edited) I've been tinkering with a spreadsheet to estimate the damage of combos (I'm using CS2 data, but I'm planning to use it to help look at changes from CS2 to CS:EX). So far my highest errors in a combo's total damage are around 40 (usually with certain D.D. combos...will do more testing later), but many times the total damage is only off by 10, 5 or even less. I have a couple other potential errors to look into (gold burst and certain air combos), but I hope to figure those out with some specific combo tests in CS2 this weekend. EDIT: I thought of a way I might figure out the proration after hiyoku myself...through a few combo comparisons, calculations, and some trial and error. Hope it works. I'll laugh if it was all due to a bad assumption (it was...lol). Now I just need to check a broader spectrum of combos and it should be ready for fairly accurate damage calculations. Also, it looks like the problem I was having with some of the Gold Burst and air combos was due to an incorrect assumption that certain combos in CS:EX had the same damage as in CS2. For example CH jB>land>jc>jA>jB>jc>jC>jD>land>5A and Gold Burst>5C>623B>6C>6D>IAD>j2C>jC>5B>5C>3C>214D>6C both deal less damage in CS2 than in CS:EX, from comparing a video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Oxtltl8EdE&list=PLE476E4BAFE6D9274&index=81#t=11m23s showing these combos' damage in CS:EX to my in-game CS2 observations. Edited October 22, 2011 by cadacus_ater I found the problem: I made a misguided assumption lol
