SolxBaiken Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Ok the DLC is already on the JPN PSN (and yes it's free), it's 67mb, which means this isn't a simple unlock code. It includes 1 costume each for Kokoro (not familiar with 4 costumes but this one was also pictured), Zack (iconic silver body suit with the head tendril which BETTER light up after a taunt), Helena (default DoA2 look), Bayman, Gen Fu, Christie (best DoA3 alt, the black biker getup with blue flames), Tina (decent DoA2 alt, previously pictured), Mila (original), Akira, Sarah, and Pai (all probably defaults of their alt sets from VF5FS). Sadly it's all region locked, so we have to wait for NA PSN to update :<

SolxBaiken Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 So I was playing online today and I managed to unleash Lei Fang's TRUE strength (skip to 1:14)
SolxBaiken Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 Next round of DLC costumes...Kitty Pack ($4.99 / 400 MSP) – Helena, Christie, Tina and Lisa all receive a set of cat ears and "sexy outfits."What a Character ($4.99 / 400 MSP) – Hitomi and Mila maid outfits; Rig bartender outfit; and Lisa masquerade gown Special Set ($4.99 / 400 MSP) – Kasumi overalls; Lei-fang panda shirt; Hayabusa fiend version; and Lisa Hamilton black dress.Full Set is also available for $12.99/1040 MSP, a week later. This includes all three downloadable packs at a special discount.
Vulcan422 Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 400 MSP for 4 costumes? Disgusting. I'll just wait for the full set (and when I get more points after buying Accent Core and the next batch of TTT2 music packs). Also, that is the fucking craziest outfit I've ever seen for Hayabusa. And this is after I first saw regular Fiend Hayabusa back in DOA2 Ultimate. Is this supposed to be, like, Greater Fiend Hayabusa or something?
Xechs Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 Also, that is the fucking craziest outfit I've ever seen for Hayabusa. It's Epigonos from Ninja Gaiden 3, another evil clone of Ryu.
SolxBaiken Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 Next Costume pack... Gym Clothes, School uniforms, and "Special" I find the costume DLC really disappointing since all they're doing is refitting old costumes for this engine...I felt like these should've already been included...then again considering how annoying this game will be to platinum it's sort of a blessing in disguise :\
SolxBaiken Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 So Dead or Alive 5+ is coming to the Vita, no information on what will be added, but Hayashi assures that any new features being brought to this port will arrive as a patch to the console versions. No firm release date outside of "early 2013".
SolxBaiken Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 ver 1.03 Complete Patch Notes [System Changes|Character Changes] It'll be interesting to see how this affects the game's growth and I really like Teccoei's presentation of the change list. Sadly unless I get more mobile I doubt I'll be able to get much offline play in as my scene hates anything not Marvel/SF4 .v. and online players are like THE definition of bad. #profoundsadness
TekkamanArk Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 ver 1.03 Complete Patch Notes [System Changes|Character Changes] It'll be interesting to see how this affects the game's growth and I really like Teccoei's presentation of the change list. Sadly unless I get more mobile I doubt I'll be able to get much offline play in as my scene hates anything not Marvel/SF4 .v. and online players are like THE definition of bad. #profoundsadness I tend to have fun with fighters playing online or with friends. I agree people online aren't as good, but there's no reason to be hateful. I don't even consider myself a good player, but, I have fun anyway, win or lose. I don't have to try to be some pro tourney player to enjoy it.
SolxBaiken Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 I don't want everyone to be "good" online, just...ya know...competent... 85% of the people I fight online mash out the same string no matter the distance, situation, or if it keeps getting them stuffed. And that is just...annoying. Hell I'll take Hold mashers over that D: So like I just want people to think and do their best. Is that too much to ask? ; -;
Hecatom Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 Lets try to see how good is the connection between us. I am not the best player in the world but i certainly think that i will fare better than the clowns that you describe :P
SolxBaiken Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 So DoA5+ came out earlier today... A fine port that reminds me of the quality of the Tekken PSP games, great for that on-the-road training. Touch Fights add literally nothing to the experience IMO (it's like not even "sexy" which I assume was the whole point...) like you'll probably do a few fights for shits n' giggles because it's an "interesting" perspective, but not being able to see my combos and the practically more simplified Hold system made me loose interest FAST. One of the more notable addition (exclusive to the Vita ver, but I hope changes...) is the ability of music selection. DoA5's OST is...well practically non-existent (which makes owning the actual disc of the "OST" pretty pointless lol) however now they've added character themes for everyone (including Mila and Rig but excluding the VF characters .v.) and I must say this is the addition I enjoy most! Also exclusive to the Vita ver is an option for "Breast Motion" with sub options being [Off/Natural/DoA] default is natural so I left it there, but for completion and a few more SnG I'll probably try the other 2 later! THANK GOD THAT WAS ADDED IN! All-in-all if you have a Vita and have the extra $40 to blow, and you're really [competitively] into DoA, this could easily warrant a 2nd purchase, especially with cross-save, but if you're casual or content with the console ver, there's no point to rush out and get this one, especially since the bulk of the things that matter [balance changes] are brought to the main game.
SolxBaiken Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 Why are they putting Momiji in this? Without her naginata? I'll probably play her I hope this is bringing the DoA5+ content (character OST, improved training modes) to consoles, but really I'm disappointed in their new character tease (seriously DoA and NG don't need to be THIS close...), hopefully she isn't the only one, maybe new characters or the return of olders with new freshness (EIN! Raidou lol) Wonder if this will be new release or patch, and speaking of patches, ugh ANOTHER [possible] balance update :\
Hecatom Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 I am hoping that they add Ein to the game, i don't have anything against Hitomi, but Ein offers a different approach of that style that Hitomi doesn't Hopefully it will be a DLC expansion, i would hate that something similar to mvc3 and umvc3 happens with DOA5
SolxBaiken Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 Trust me, you won't hear ANYONE complain if they add Ein into the game, Hitomi is cool but just no Ein, it's been like that since 3/2U. Yeah I'll prefer download (of even the dual option) but yeah considering DoA has only been out for 7ish months I'd hate for a re-release. And I'm already not digging this being the possible 3rd major version in such a short time :\
Asuras Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 I'll flip a damned table if it's not DLC of some sort for those who already have DoA5. I'm not paying 50-60 for a game with a few new characters. Momiji is obviously going to be present, but it'll take much more than a single new fighter to get me interested. Ein as an addition would be okay, but from the looks of it, DoA5 was intended to have a cast of completely unique characters (got rid of Ein and Leon), and while Ein possesses some differences, I feel like he's still too similar to warrant them putting him in.
Hecatom Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 Man if you think that Ein is to similar to Hitomi, you have not played enough with both of them.
TekkamanArk Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 She was faster, he hit harder. A few different moves, but relatively the same character.
SolxBaiken Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 Ein and Hitomi are the same just as Ryu and Ken are the same; like many "clone" characters the differences need to be examined on a deeper level than cosmetics. Ask anyone who plays Hitomi in 5, assuming they've played Ein up till then, they would be happy to see his return. Also you act as if they can't further adjust him, I mean Gen and Eliot have similar movesets but are worlds apart, and Kokoro and Akira use the same fighting styles (with different disciplines) and no one complains about them. And if Teccoei honestly expects to sell a possible new release with 1 character, lol.
SolxBaiken Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 It seems that the new version of Dead or Alive 5 is called.... Dead or Alive 5: Ultimate (just can't let 2 go, but I guess it beats Hardcore ) No other new info has surfaced yet, but my fear of this being a standalone release is rising... (wonder if they'd consider adding in any more VF characters? Vanessa needs to show Mila how Vale Tudo is really done ; w; )
Kyosuke Kagami Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Aoi must be added so she can teach those DOA bitches how reversals are done Good thing I decided to wait
