I'm buying a PSP solely for Monster Hunter when it's available. PS3/P has it down for J-Games man, They're all so good.

But Skyrim man, What a game. It's just head and shoulders better than any other Free Roam game / RPG in history.

I'm really starting to feel like my player skill is plateauing and I'm not quite sure how to make the next step. I search out the strongest players I can but too often it feels like not enough strong ppl play anymore. I figure it's not enough to fight ppl close to my skill, I need to get bodied. I am actually looking for decent advice on this one not some mindless sarcasims, what do you guys do when you feel this way?

My practice partner is someone who plays consistently better than me, so I don't get that problem.

However, you seem like you already know what you want: to get bodied. So, find someone that's better than you, be it offline or online, and ask them very nicely to play some matches with you.

Go to a tournament. Even if there are no majors in your area (which would be rare), even an anime convention tournament is good enough. You find the other good players that show up, organize meetups, and build a scene. Well, if there isn't already a local scene you don't know about. Also, local doesn't mean same city, it just means that it's close enough that the people don't mind travelling the distance every now and then.

I'd also say a lot of good players stop netplaying because they don't like playing through lag, but it's playable if people live close to each other. Maybe there's this godlike retired netplayer that has a good connection with you and is just waiting for a decent opponent with a minimum lag to start playing again.

I get this all the time, I solve it by going to big tournaments and playing everyone possible.

You could go to SCR.

So who in here is going to SCR? :x

You could go to NEC, it's a lot closer (Philadelphia). I'll be there, anyone else?

I do appreciate very much the constructive advice, I'll try to follow what I can. It does seem like the next step for me is attending tournaments - I am woefully ignorant of them though. I should take some time and study up on them so I can be more involved in this community as well as improve myself.

@Lythium the person I play with most is snazzymuffin103 -- a very skilled hazama he often wins, but Im not losing dreadfully "enough" its usually close

@Lord : I have seen you but a few times on live and when we fought i believe you faced my Ragna -- which means I was still in warm-up mode, I would gladly mirror your mu

I used to dread mu mirrors, but now that I have become quite comfortable with mu and her abilities/weaknesses it turns into a sort of test for me if I can out exploit those which I often enjoy now

So trolling Mu is da best Mu. :D
does winning against a low life enemy who's trying to also kill you with his combo only to be stopped and killed by a stray Totsuka laser you let out a few seconds ago count?
