Errol Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Is it me or is 2D recovery time even faster I can't really tell. It feels like maybe. But man, now that I look at it closer. Jesus christ look at how much she slides back on the 2d charge cancel!? Is that really just the effect of barriering a 5c?
Surf Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Huh your right. That's 5C not 5CC, which is weird. Usually shes not pushed that far back when she charge cancels 5C if it was barrier blocked. Yea she carries some of the push momentum with her, but not that much. But still, looks like dashing back in isnt a huge problem. Im not sure if its just the faster game or if the recovery on 5D/2D are better. Because 5D seems somewhat faster as well
BatousaiJ Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Given how j.D > j.C > 5C > 2C combo extenders exist, the landing recovery of j.D might be better as well....
Surf Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Yea, since this combo works too > jCC > jD cancel > jB > jCC > j214X Im pretty convinced the recovery she enters in the air after j.D is better. As for landing recovery, maybe. I sure hope so But wait, that means she can still double jump or airdash after a j.D if their still available to her. Didnt think of it that way. I wonder if shenanigans like Jump in j.C > j.D > Jump Back > j.214D can be used if they try to anti air or mash after your j.D cancel. Yo release date, where are you
Errol Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Given how j.D > j.C > 5C > 2C combo extenders exist, the landing recovery of j.D might be better as well.... j.D > j.C > 5C > 2C combo extenders exist ..6CC> 623C> j.236A(w)> j.214D> j.D > j.C > 5C > 2C combo extenders exist Nothing has to have changed here as far as I can tell.
BatousaiJ Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 (edited) j.D > j.C > 5C > 2C combo extenders exist ..6CC> 623C> j.236A(w)> j.214D> j.D > j.C > 5C > 2C combo extenders exist Nothing has to have changed here as far as I can tell. Oh ya, I was actually talking about the minimal frames of charge animation for j.D(not landing recovery) given short hop j.D > falling j.C > combo extenders aren't a thing in extend. As for j.CC > j.D > j.B> j.CC extender, the timing must be tight since we saw Kuresu drop most of the attempts he made at it so it might not be worth the effort for that little bit of damage increase. Errol Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Yeah, dunno. It might be worth it if you put it in fairly early so it doesn't drop as easy? But that's possible just cause you can charge cancel air normals now. The reason you can do stuff off 6c is rather that 6c and 6cc were changed IMO, and removal of JD minimum height. The old 3c FC > 6CC > JCC>5C combo is doable now without fatal counter. BTW, currently all of the jbbs rankings place Tsubaki in B rank. Well, I'm not going to place a huge amount of faith in it. If people are curious I'll post one I guess.
Surf Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 What tiers are the other characters showing up as

Surf Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Huh. Weird list, so is this the general consensus or are the lists all over the place in opinions.
Errol Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Generally there is just a list and people tweak it. Like you can see someone decided 6 ranks was too much and consolidated it.
Surf Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 I was expecting Tsubaki to be a bit higher. Oh, one thing i remembered and seemed to have noticed twice is something about her command grab. It was said in the loktest notes that its most likely not throw invul right, twice I saw Kuresu catch someone with a command grab only for TRM to show up. Don't know if they were just mashing throw or if the command grab really may be throw invul
pktazn Posted December 15, 2012 Author Posted December 15, 2012 I'd still be iffy on anything about tier lists honestly. The game hasn't even been out for a month yet...

I don't think I've seen that on commadn grabs in EX unless they were pink command grabs I think. Kuresu complaining about Jin and Hakumen on Twitter. heh.
SolarMisae Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 I'd still be iffy on anything about tier lists honestly. The game hasn't even been out for a month yet... This. (And not just because I'm not okay seeing Amane that low....) Matchup charts are far more useful anyways.
Surf Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 (edited) I'm not taking the list to heart of course. I was mainly just curious of the general thoughts of the people who have played the game Yeah I don't know... I don't think I've seen that on commadn grabs in EX unless they were pink command grabs I think. Iirc Hazama's command grab is throw invul. Where the red X whould appear and TRM would show up instead of throw counter if he managed to catch you with it and you were in your throw animation. The same thing happened in Kuresu's case, two times Edited December 15, 2012 by Surf

There was a nice looking combo on jbbs so I'll put it here. 6Afc>5CC>6CC>IAD JCC>2CC>IAD JCC>5C>2C>Ground Ender (3154) This. (And not just because I'm not okay seeing Amane that low....) Matchup charts are far more useful anyways. I don't think we've had a real matchup chart since CS. I doubt the top is changing. Jin Valk Tao Litchi. The top and bottom characters tend to be identified pretty early on. Then sometimes later people are like, this char is actually top too. But you know you can also just take it as the CURRENT list.. Of course stuff changes over time. Kind of a current ranking of how people are doing with characters? Also Amane is staying that low. F Tier for Fabulously Bad, Solar. F. Moving on to more interesting things, the TRM on command grabs has been around for awhile. I noticed it since a long while especially when I was playing Tager and TRM would come up during a 360 or even a 720. A bit of misinterpretable data but no, there's no way to "tech" a command grab. You just have to not be on the ground or be in invul frames when it activates.
Surf Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Im not even talking about teching command grabs. Of course you cant do thar. My statements were if Tsubakis command grab is throw invul or not

BatousaiJ Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Don't forget really specific data is gonna be hard to confirm just strictly though spectator data. Just have some patience for console release for the really important questions to be answered with some semblance of accuracy.
Surf Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 What Errol said is all I was looking for. I was sinply wondering if it was because of the two instances i saw. Thats it, its probably not invul
Kiba Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 There was a nice looking combo on jbbs so I'll put it here. 6Afc>5CC>6CC>IAD JCC>2CC>IAD JCC>5C>2C>Ground Ender (3154) Interesting combo you got there thanks. I wonder how easy that is to do. Also, I'm not sure if anyone noticed but, Kuresu used j.CC > j.D > j.B CH > 5A. The j.B > 5A registered as a 2 hit combo and it looked like there was little to no landing recovery. Might be only possible on CH only. Also, in the corner, 6C > Blade Super grants some good oki! Just wish there was more we could do with that opportunity.
