[CP1.1] Tsubaki Yayoi General - Gameplay Discussion

I can always rely on you guys to bring me up to speed :3 Thanks.

So Kuresu is still playing Tsu? Hype. I might have to sift through some more match vids, only been watching Amane stuff and that one 11/25 Amane vs. Tsubaki.

Gotta do more research, but count on me to ask more questions.

Oh hey it's Lunar, long time no see.

Lets see, my very super duper early impression of Tsu in CP so far from what I've seen to put it quickly would be to say that she's better than her iteration in EX.

Her added tools like the projectile, projectile DD and command throw adds tools that not only make her mix up scarier but also will make many match ups easily(zoners especially). Her neutral game remains to be seen with how the frame data comes out but it seems 5B is quicker, 2C is still a great anti air and there are some passive charge boosts after certain scenarios from what I've seen where you gain charge very quickly. Not having to constantly sacrifice continued pressure to get free charge is an excellent change that makes her more of a rush down character than ever.

Overall flat damage is improved from EX and our overdrive is more useful than many other characters and synergies well with the concept of a rush down character.

Very much looking forward to CP, as I'm sure everyone else is :eng101:.

Hi Battou :3 indeed it has been awhile.

Yeah, I was watching some vids and her mixup seems more legit and scary. Gotta work on dem blockstrings when I get the game! I know we don't have much of a frame data chart up yet but I hope the actual data doesn't affect the mixup potential she's showing now. I'm not too worried though, but it seems with the added tools, and the new mechanics, there's lots to look forward to Tsubaki in CP than EX.

As far as my analysis goes, since I've been out of the BB info loop for MONTHS.

I'm super sad about 22D as well. I really felt it had been one of her defining characteristics since CS1. =/

Combo that ends in an air ender: Extra damage but no charge gain.

Combo that ends in ground ender: Less damage but 1 charge gained (thanks to the ground ender giving us a quick boost when we tap 5D after it).

Wait, what? There's a special bonus for charging after 22B?

Am I the only one who's okay with losing the 22D unblockable? :(

I mean it would have been fantastic to still have it since it has been with her when she was first released, but she has more options in general now to compensate for it. They're not exact replacements of course (you can't really replace what I considered to be a super practical unblockable) and how well all of it will hold up remains to be seen as CP evolves.

However, this is the most excited I've been for Tsubaki since CS2.

Um, I'm ok with it but it is rather a shame to lose such a noob killing machine.

I noticed though the 22D unblockable became just as much of a liability as it was a plus the higher level people I played that knew the match up so given we got more than enough to compensate for its loss, I'm not too broken up about it.

I wan't okay with it but Kiba informed me of what we DID gain for that loss and I am okay with this. I'm just excited that she has different options than before in general. Like most characters getting upgrades, I'm glad Tsubaki didn't completely change or just got a few new moves and that's it. I'm liking what I'm seeing. Its a nice mix and frankly I came out of hiatus and hiding because I want to see more of her. :3

yeah, if you look at the end of those combos, you will see that you can gain nearly 2 charge afterwards, giving up oki but not neutral. J214X has something with charge too but we haven't seen it in videos, Dunno.

Also, just the command throw is going to turn out to be better than the unblockable IMO.

So what is the purpose of new super? I assume that it can't be used as a combo ender due to how it works, so is there another purpose to it other than it seeming like a flashy, 50% heat option to get charge or reset pressure? That's all the options I can come up with.

Command grab though is sexy as hell and looks hella useful.

That combo vid made me more excited...I dunno why. Especially anything with a Crush Trigger in it :3

Since BBCP was released in the arcades, we never saw Konan footage. I was wondering if he will begin to play the game as Izayoi in 2 days. I will laugh like a mad

I can understand though, better play a crazy new character even with 10k health than a good character with some bad matchups even if she has 11k.

Konan usually appears much later.

Apparently he is interested in Izayoi so it wouldn't surprise me if he picked her up.

konan just isn't showing up in videos. Since he hasn't showed up even once I don't know what his nesica would be either.

But he's definitely playing. Not sure that he'll really do anything with Izayoi. All tsubaki players have some degree of interest I think.

I'm just gonna throw out that he may go back to Jin. He was a Jin main first before Tsubaki though he may play both.

And yea like Errol said, from what I've noticed, most Tsu players have an interest in Izayoi so it wouldn't be surprising to see him and everyone else try her out.

Last time I checked the site his win ratio was pretty low. Like mid 40%, which somewhat surprised me

I haven't been able to pin down one of the tsubaki players as konan...you have a link?

I haven't seen him tweet anything about other chars IIRC. but the possibility is there.

I was looking at the player rankings for Tsubaki on the site. Ill check right now and see if i can find the same player

I dont see Konan on the rankings now, he may have changed his name. p.s Kuresu is #4 Tsubaki

Are you sure Kuresu is #4 for Tsu? He's showing up as #1 for me at 11 dan.

EDIT: Oh I figured it out we used a different searches for ranking. I used the dan ranking.

Sorry if it's old news, but did 3CC just became a legit combo starter again from a CH? Without meter!?

Yeah that's old news, works from 3©C CH as well but proratio is worse so it's not as good as it used to. Combined proratio from 3CC is 71% used to be 88% and from second attack only it went from 120% down to 80%

Sigh, I really wish they'd do something with 3CC to make it more useful in her neutral gameplay. That's the only thing I miss from CS1 Tsubaki ><

Kuresu appears in the latest Central video again. He hovered over Izayoi for a second and I got hyped as hell.

... But then he chose Tsubaki
