Lufenia Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 So to summarize: 5B 2D jc j.A is gapless for those that it works on (i.e not Noel or Litchi) but on some characters you need to delay the jump-cancel? @luf: Yeah. It's finally getting somewhere. I think I would have dropped Another on this episode had it not been for the last half. DX really? i think they're going way too fast. first death shouldda been like ep 6 where you get attached to a character :C
LuminAbyss Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Though we didn't go as far to test this because we decided to play iDOLM@STER instead. I am proud.
Herbal Grey Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 (edited) What the eff do I do against an incredibly aggressive Hakumen? How is hake getting in? 6a owns Haku in the air. I even will just air grab him if I want to avoid a possible counter. If he's dashing toward you, mash 2a, winded or non winded a-lobelia, whack him with pumpkin (assuming you have it summoned). if he's catching you off guard, I bet it's because you're doing unsafe summoning, though it's hard to tell without a video. Also, thanks polka and koto for the helpful info Edited January 25, 2012 by Herbal Grey
kotokot Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 6A losing to hakus j.2C. Try less zoning with lobelias, because of kishuu. Learn different lobelias with wind, some of them are harder to cut for Haku. Don't use chair versus good Hakumen. Learn ib and gaps in his pressure. Watch for the stars, he have very limited options and mixups without it. Save more wind for running away. Note that he have fuzzy guard instant overhead 5B j.B. Remember about his a/b chains, even on whiff he can cancel it. Don't eat 5C when he have 3 stars, it's really painful)His reward have greatly increased and his combos carries you into corner. You don't want to be raped in corner) This matchup is pretty hard to play, check this http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?11576-CS2-Rachel-v-Hakumen , or create matchup thread for CSEX. DX really? i think they're going way too fast. first death shouldda been like ep 6 where you get attached to a character :C fuck, can you have used spoiler tag?)
killionaire Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Yeah.. Doing that got me thinking like they understand pacing. I'm sticking with Another for now.
Kuuhaku Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Kotokot- Pretty sure Hakumen's instant overhead (or at least the only j.B instant overhead setup I know from Haku) does not work on Rachel. It only works on a few characters, namely Bang, Ragna?, and Relius. There's a few others like maybe Carl? and probably Tager... I don't remember too well. Almost positive that Rachel is not on that list though. If you wait and space it right, 6A does beat j.2C... Though the timing can get weird depending on where Haku is.
tofurr Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 It was a low air dash j.2c, it was hard to beat that. I'll start training dummy'ing stuff like to practice countering and anti-airing.
Chazmobile Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Playing Rachel when you feel like crap is the hardest and most frustrating thing :@
kirbster Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Nah, learning stick with Rachel is even worse T_T
Sakaku Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 You seem like you don't enjoy playing on a stick at all. Weren't you already very good with pad? Why switching to stick when you're already confident enough playing with a pad? Tournament issues? :/ Playing Noel over and over again is worst.

Jump in j.2C hits lower, than Rachels 6A guardpoint. So either you hit earlier than your opponent, either j.2C must be done super high. Just like Valkenhayn j.C, but not so broken shit). You can use chair as AA, 5B, lobelias, but must be careful.
kirbster Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 You seem like you don't enjoy playing on a stick at all. Weren't you already very good with pad? Why switching to stick when you're already confident enough playing with a pad? Tournament issues? :/ It's because 8 of my friends bought me a gdlk stick for my bday, complete with custom Rachel art and all because they know I love BB. I wanna be worthy of this awesome gift... but it's harder than I thought it would be. I feel like I can't let them down xD I've always wanted to learn it anyway, so this is exactly the motivation I needed.
Sakaku Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Ahhh yeah, I totally forgot about that lol. If it was me, I probably wouldn't even play on it, just to put it in some kind of glass case to gaze at the art. :3 Do you still have the picture you posted a while ago?
[SpA]Relentless Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 It was a low air dash j.2c, it was hard to beat that. That's probably the only time you're going to win with 6A against Hakumen, if you anticipate the airdash. If he simply jumps in with j.2C, he will beat you 99% of the time. (I love how kotokot is the only person right now posting legit technical stuff ) kirbster - Don't give up, you seriously won't regret it. Try playing different games you usually don't touch and do a bunch of combos there. It doesn't really matter which game, variety helps greatly and will make you more relaxed.

Whoever asked about the anti-air- if you're not confident that you can hit Hakumen, backdashing or moving out of the way is also an option.
kirbster Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 @Sakaku : here you go @Spa : Thanks for the advice. I'm actually practicing korean backdashing in Tekken 6 and that shit is harder than any movement in BB lol.

I always wanted to get a pad modeled after Rachel. I'm happy and jealous of you at the same time.
Lucien Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Kirbster, did you do the art on that? I eyegasm'd if that's possible.
kirbster Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 My cousin made it with a friend. Well, he took a fanart of Rachel he knew I would HNNGGGGG over and changed the colors in Photoshop. He told me afterwards he felt super bad because he forgot the wind stocks xD but he doesn't play BB, and I don't mind. Not like I'll complain.
