Since you guys have the game already and you're on the topic, do you truly think the game is going to be scrubby? Like take out us mashy Americans out of the equation and tell me what you really think about P4U.

I'm still gonna play it regardless, but I always had my doubts it was the game everyone was trying to make it out to be. It's not bad (just looking at it) just......overhype I guess kills things for me.

Well, pretty much every time a new game comes out, everybody jumps all over it and then, a few weeks later, it's like it never happened. I haven't really looked at P4U since it's not out yet here but it's not like there's anything special about it that means it has to be the game that takes the entire FG community by storm that the other games weren't. Why didn't everyone force themselves to like BB. :P It's more like people are just desperate to have a game that will have a big scene and latched onto this one as the latest one.

The game has only been out for less than a week and you've only played people in South Florida. Making umbrella statements about the play in America after such a short time isn't smart; you're smarter than that.

This. Fucking this. Dude, I tried to scrub out people yesterday in P4A with my mashes, throw resets, wakeup DPs, and AAAAAA combos, and it worked... but only against those who had NO fucking idea what they were doing. Against the guys who actually had practiced and had learned combos and spent a little time in training mode (lucky bastards...) I got my shit beat. It's no scrubbier than BlazBlue. In fact, I think it's better because Arakune, Noel, and Ragna don't exist in the game.

I think It's been a little over 2 years for me, but even then my first year was so bad I don't even count it lol.

And I completely agree that at the end of the day you just gotta play the games you love. I do genuinely like BB (even when I rage at it, I come back for more). Can't really say I like GG yet, but I will definitely look into playing it and maining the fuck out of Chipp. GG probably won't ever die so I'm sure I can always play that. And I always got some Melee I could get back into with some friends. That's been around forever despite haters.

P4U could make the list, but as of now I'm only looking into playing it cause of Brosuke. Hopefully the game itself is good.

If you mash A, you get a small combo. It's not great damage, but it's good SP gain. You can also cancel some moves in it into other moves, for more legit combos. The spacing required for the whole thing to connect varies for character to character though. With Mitsuru, for instance, you have to be pretty close for the whole thing to connect. You don't have to use the thing at all though.

Haha it is not a "small combo." Mash the A button and you get a combo that leads into super. Starts from a jab, no hit confirm is necessary, leads to about 3k midscreen, other combos exist but not necessary more viable. No real cons.

Rise, autocomboers. The FGC is ours.

That's some bullshit and you know it: Yu isn't as derpy or strong as Ragna... Chie doesn't have an assload of invincibility with the ability to keep cancelling all her moves if she misses.

Autocombo will have it's place and people will probably use it within bigger combos for the meter gain but really I don't think it's a big deal at all as far as competitive play goes.

Whiffing DPs doesn't matter right now as much because nobody knows optimal punishes. Once they do people will be more hesitant to throw out DPs since the damage potential in this game is huge (1-2 combos = death).

As for the game lacking depth, I think it's a little too early to tell even though it may seem that way right now.

Please, desperately try to defend autocombo some more.

Personally though I think this is the best thing to happen to video games since Nintendo added that super guide feature to their games where the computer would play the game for you while you watch.

Ok maybe 1-2 combos = death was an exaggeration lol, what I meant was that FC combos will hurt a lot once people know what they are doing. I've seen some 100% or near 100% combos already, sure they require burst and 100 meter but the potential is there. I don't think mashing DP will be a real problem once people learn to play solid. Some people will mash, they'll get blown up. It was pretty funny when you ran up 5A'd and got DP'd though you have to admit :P

If you evade or mash DP you're going to get blown up badly just learn how to block. The autocombos are not that bad, and no one gets over 3k; Chie is the only exception when she has 50 heat. The only pro to autocombo is some characters (Mitsuru,Chie) are blockstrings.

Noel = Chie

Totally wrong. Chie is more like Jam. She doesn't have invincible normals like noel nor the randomness of her playstyle. She's pretty basic but fun and that's why I choose her as one of my characters to play. Yu has wayyy better mixup than Ragna. I would say a mixture between Ky and Sol. Now past the shallow conversation.

This is game is really fun so far. I think after everyone gets blown up the first two weeks by mashing DP and roll, then the game will start to get serious. I advise everyone to pick your character that best suits your playstyle and to have your "waifu" or "husbu" lol.

Uh huh, haven't heard that one before. You're right though, you do ignore when I tell you to stop waking up and pressing buttons after teching in the corner.

Anyway like I was saying, game is bad but I'm pretty impressed at the level SFL is playing after only a few days of practice. So far it's looking like...

So, if you're south Florida an decided not to show up to casuals on Sat, the idea is to play a character that hasn't been chosen yet so we can have more experience. It's not an outright ban, but since you're lazy as fuck and decided not to show up, if you choose a character that has already been chosen, you will forever be regarded as THAT OTHER _____ PLAYER.

Weekly streamed casuals should begin next Sat. I think.
