A.X.I.S. Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Then you are the only person in MI who matters. Tales is so godlike. I love tales, just not as much as skye.
Prototype909 Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Nothing out of the ordinary. Especially since the ordinary is randomness.
Skye Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Then you are the only person in MI who matters. Tales is so godlike. Trust me it's building. I had Vesperia, but I let someone borrow it and their Xbox tipped over and welp. I'll get the PS3 version when I can afford it. And I'll get Eternia when I can afford it. And I wonder if I can buy Destiny 2 off of whoever owns it...
Chris Chaos Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Then you are the only person in MI who matters. I thought we were bros...
Prototype909 Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 I like Tales I just hate how hypocritical the characters are sometimes and how they don't get called the fuck out.
Prototype909 Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Yuri calls niggas the fuck out. As did Jade. Yuri was a fucking hypocrite. His entire character can be summed up with the motto of "I have the right to kill people who the law doesn't punish because they are a threat to people" HOWEVER when Aska decides Estelle should die because she's a threat to the entire WORLD Yuri has the fucking nerve to tell Aska he "doesn't have the right to decide who lives and who dies" Which is EXACTLY what Yuri had been doing the entire game up until that point. Fucking hypocrite and he never gets called on it.
LunaKage Posted March 2, 2012 Author Posted March 2, 2012 Yeah, I hate character development too Proto.
Prototype909 Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Not realizing that the exact bullshit you condemn is what you yourself have been practicing is not character development. Luke in ToTA getting called out on his bullshit attitude and then doing a 180 was questionable character development, since nobody really changes that fast, but it was still development and made for some interesting changes in the story. Yuri is just a hypocrite who never had to face an repercussions for what he did.
LunaKage Posted March 2, 2012 Author Posted March 2, 2012 It is when he's clearly going through internal struggle during the whole ordeal as soon as Estelle "has to die". Something doesn't have to be said aloud to be present.
Amadeus46Art Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 I like Luke's entire character arc, I think TotA actually had the best characters out of the series. Except Anise. Fuck Anise.
LunaKage Posted March 2, 2012 Author Posted March 2, 2012 I love Anise. But Abyss definitely has the best character development.
Toasty Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 It is when he's clearly going through internal struggle during the whole ordeal as soon as Estelle "has to die". Something doesn't have to be said aloud to be present. I never played that game, but from an outsider's perspective it makes no sense that he makes an exception for this one character. If it's due to some attachment to the character, that kinda proves that he's a hypocrite since he is trying to make another character follow a moral code for his own ends when he breaks it all the time on his own.
Prototype909 Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 It is when he's clearly going through internal struggle during the whole ordeal as soon as Estelle "has to die". Something doesn't have to be said aloud to be present. That was only because it was Estelle though, he never questioned his philosophy or paused to think he was wrong. He was just hesitating and trying to make an exception because it was someone he knew instead of someone he could just easily kill without remorse. And fuck Anise, Arietta should've been the party member instead.
LunaKage Posted March 2, 2012 Author Posted March 2, 2012 I never played that game, but from an outsider's perspective it makes no sense that he makes an exception for this one character. If it's due to some attachment to the character, that kinda proves that he's a hypocrite since he is trying to make another character follow a moral code for his own ends when he breaks it all the time on his own. The problem was that the two guys he killed were actually bad people, Estelle was not only a good person but also a member of the party. Hypocritical or not, someone can understand his position, especially if you as a player also wanted those two assholes to die(which I definitely did). Here are the three people: First guy ran a town and fed children and shit to monsters, he get's sent to jail, but they let him out because he was high up on the political ladder. Second guy was like a general, he basically enslaved a town, and was a massive faggot. Estelle... was born.
LuminAbyss Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Let's see you try to kill an innocent girl who tries to help people and just happened to be born with an ability that was harmfully affecting the aer. An ability she had no idea about and little conscious control over. Regardless of how well you knew her. Now let's add the fact that she has become one of your best friends over the course of traveling with her. Hypocrisy my ass.
Siefer Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 I never played that game, but from an outsider's perspective it makes no sense that he makes an exception for this one character. If it's due to some attachment to the character, that kinda proves that he's a hypocrite since he is trying to make another character follow a moral code for his own ends when he breaks it all the time on his own. Actually, I think that's partially the point, to showcase the hypocrisy in his actions compared to his moral "code". It highlights the dangers of pigeonholing yourself into a narrow and absolute state of mind. It wasn't just about Estelle, it was also about himself. I also want to note that it's dangerous to label characters in absolute terms ("bad" and "good") because it's really more about perspective and who is benefiting from the situation than the actual moral implications of it. A saint can be considered a sinner depending on what they've done and who you talk to, and vice-versa.
Toasty Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Let's see you try to kill an innocent girl who tries to help people and just happened to be born with an ability that was harmfully affecting the aer. Like I said, he's all of a sudden bringing out some moral code when it's relevant to HIM, and not the, oh I don't know, THE REST OF THE WORLD WHO WILL BE AFFECTED (at least I think I'm gathering this right. Again I haven't played it), but when he is unaffected by the death of someone, it's completely ok for him to kill them if he BELIEVES they are evil (very subjective term). Selfish bastard.
LunaKage Posted March 2, 2012 Author Posted March 2, 2012 Remind me to never go on an action packed adventure with Toasty or Proto, they'll let me die for a sandwich.
Amadeus46Art Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Remind me to never go on an action packed adventure with Toasty or Proto, they'll let me die for a sandwich. Go on an action packed adventure with me! You can be the comic relief. LunaKrillin
Chaoschao222 Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Now I'm confused, is Estelle a sandwich? Is this like the vicious-saw potato soup nonsense? Is everyone in ToV just food? Is this a fucking prequel to Cooking Mama? Fuck ToV, bad game, I don't want food, I want RPG :c
The Katz Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Remind me to never go on an action packed adventure with Toasty or Proto, they'll let me die for a sandwich. I'd let you die to get a sandvich. I'd let you die to lose a sandvich.
