LuminAbyss Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 :D I don't like F-Ryougi's 5B That is the only reason I don't play her. Yes it is fun pissing everyone off.
Brandinoli Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 I don't like F-Ryougi's 5B That is the only reason I don't play her. Yes it is fun pissing everyone off. Her 5B is a bit on the slow side, but everything else she has makes up for it. ...EVERYTHING. Even her existence. Right, Axis?
Skye Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 the guy just started fighting games why would you immediately try to stop him from playing characters he likes and shove tiers down his throat? man some people. also tsubaki isnt that bad its just some match ups are quit whining especially in a thread that has no involvement with the UK If this post is serious, then you simply don't know Lumin.
LuminAbyss Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Brandino, next ranbats, you need to enter with F-Ryougi.
rubedo Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 If this post is serious, then you simply don't know Lumin. fail to see anything in my post about lumin
LuminAbyss Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Ragna and I are synonymous. It says so in the thesaurus.

LuminAbyss Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Linear, you should visit MI again, I didn't get to meet you dawg.
Delrian Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Something slightly important I forgot to note is that this is the first traditional fighter that I'll ever be putting in time to play at a competitive level, and I just picked up a copy of the game yesterday afternoon, so there's a lot that I don't know but I'll try to catch up to everyone quickly. Also Now that I've spent some time fiddling around with the game I think it's safe to say that ATM the characters I'm most interested in are Litchi and Tsubaki. Cool, BB was my gateway fighter as well. As far as learning a fighting game competitively, be prepared to invest a LOT of time into it. Your location says Ann Arbor... the two events we really end up doing are in Southfield and Troy... Litchi's cool although execution heavy. Dunno much about Tsubaki apart from the fact that I don't really care for her fighting design.

I mean what are we supposed to say? "Aww yeah play Tsubaki, she's ass but play her anyway if you love her, winning isn't everything right? We're a competitive scene, and if you want to play competitively we're giving you actual advice. We're not like you, who just comes here to bitch about shit in run-on sentences.
Iza Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 I don't feel that way at all. Everyone is just blowing things out of proportion to be honest, you need to try harder yes, but it's not "unreal" at all. Now if she somehow got turned into CS1 Tsubaki then I would agree with you ;V Ok maybe i was just exaggerating a bit or maybe the fact i never played CS1 Tsubaki Kappa

Amadeus46Art Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Just play Guilty Gear. Tiers don't exist in that game (unless you're eddie) :3

Also Now that I've spent some time fiddling around with the game I think it's safe to say that ATM the characters I'm most interested in are Litchi and Tsubaki. You have to work hard to win with those 2 characters. Litchi you need to be on point with spacing and positioning with staff. Tsubaki is weak compared to most characters but her tools are still very good, just her charging is slow so you sometimes have to give up oki for charge. Sometimes you get both though.
rubedo Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 yea tell someone who just grabbed the game that his picks are shit tier and to play characters that are easier and better. also i do just about the same amount of bitching here as you do at casuals so i figured i was in the clear.
Toasty Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 You guys are all a bunch of scrubs. No exceptions. So who haven't I added on PSN that has or is getting CSE soon? Also for everyone on 360, I should be getting a copy for it in a few weeks or so. Oh, and I agree with rubedo on the issue of character strength. The game is balanced enough that you can still win with any character as long as you out-play your opponent. Some characters will just take longer to get the hang of or to form a solid gameplan with.
LuminAbyss Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Just play Guilty Gear. Tiers don't exist in that game (unless you're eddie) :3 Real talk Ama, you made GG hype at ranbats. You gotta visit more often.
Amadeus46Art Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 I'll definitely try if it gets more people playing Guilty. This weekend I'm gonna be busy down in Cincinnati though, I'm hoping to bring that hype to Arcade Legacy's grand opening and hopefully we can spark some life back into this game down there.
A.X.I.S. Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 I have the game Toasty and you didn't add me. Then again I am wireless.
Deviru Dahlia Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Twisted Metal is fucking hilariously fun~ Also, my copy should be here in a few days~

Toasty Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 I have the game Toasty and you didn't add me. Then again I am wireless. Wireless doesn't really make a noticeable difference in my experience. Is your PSN what you have listed here?
A.X.I.S. Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Well even with my 3 years of experience I don't get instant wins. The main point is to be proficient enough to win not "win instantly". Edit: Yes Toasty it actually is.

Yeah, I agree with that too, but I was just adding on what I said so it didn't look like the game was too unbalanced to take that approach. Besides, it's much easier to learn a character that interests you than it is to force yourself to learn a good character for the sake of having a good character as a main. If you get both, then it's just a bonus.
LuminAbyss Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 (edited) I'll definitely try if it gets more people playing Guilty. This weekend I'm gonna be busy down in Cincinnati though, I'm hoping to bring that hype to Arcade Legacy's grand opening and hopefully we can spark some life back into this game down there. I'll try to enter next time, even if I'm not good at this game. We gotta generate hype. Pretty much this. Play the character you like or the playstyle (which usually go hand in hand) you enjoy, so that you can have more motivation to get better and learn all you can about the character. That's how I approach every game I play. It's good to keep in mind how much harder some characters may have to work to get over their weaknesses, but at the end of the day, your love for that character and the enjoyment you get from playing them will easily get you passed that. Don't limit yourself either, whether it's through other people's opinions or official tier lists or whatever. Try everyone out and see who feels best for you. I really wanted to run Shen on my team in King of Fighters XIII, but I really disliked the way his combos worked (as much as I love the character), and so I later switched him out for Ryo, who I felt better with as an anchor.
