I'll be there with a copy/PS3 if needed, I have Terumi/Sasuke/Kokonoe and pretty colors. Hopefully we'll be able to have some additional PS3 sticks/controllers there.

I am in Woburn which is close to Burlington.

Trying to gauge interest for a BBCP tournament at GU on the 23rd(5$/10$). Anyone know how long typical 2/3 and 3/5 tournament matches last in BB?

I won't be able to make it for the 23rd - I'll be travelling that day for my long Thanksgiving Holiday.

My usual rule of thumb for BB stuff is that a 'game' takes about 3 minutes. It's rare for one game to take more than 3.5 minutes (that'd be 3 rounds of more than 70 seconds each, assuming no button checks and minimal time wasted on char select). But you're probably better off rounding up to 5 minutes for at least the first match, because it's always better for things to go faster than planned. After that? You figure about 50% of your matches will go 2-0 and 50% will go 2-1, so that's "2.5" games per match, so call it like 10 minutes for a two out of three (5 minutes for the first game, 3 minutes for the next, then maybe a 3rd one). 3 out of 5 probably better to say 15 minutes.

Those are all intuitive guesses though, based on watching lots of streams. :P And it seems like a lot of the time, more time is spent trying to find people to play their matches than it is actually playing them.

Is this Game Over place pretty good? I actually just got a PSN version of BBCP last night so I wanna try to get in on that.

It's an 'event', not a place - the place is Tommy Doyle's in Harvard Square.

So far we've had at least half a dozen folks for BB each night, though I think things fall apart a little bit later in the evening when the people with PS3 sticks need to go. So uh, bring a stick if you have one.

Cross-posting from the New England thread.

So hey guys it looks like since Mike isn't going to NEC my status on going is currently in limbo.

So I just want to ask does anyone at all have room for one more?

Money's no problem as NEC starts on a payday for me.

If I can't get a ride I can greyhound it (though I wouldn't like to) but I'll still need a room.

Err yea that's what I meant.

I probably won't make it this week but I'll try to make it out next week or after Thanksgiving

Sick today, not bringing the germs to a crowded party. Next week.

From my understanding Game Over is not going to be running on Tuesdays until January due to Christmas parties, but there is another tournament at Game Underground on the 21st

Ah! Thanks for the heads up!

But again, I'm probably travelling the 21st. What is with these "weekend before a big holiday" tournaments? :P

Don't they still meet on Sundays

I wanna go to GU but of course I don't have a car (which would've been the best mode of transportation since it's literally 30 minutes away from Boston)

and the Commuter Rail is one of the biggest failures in MBTA History

Heh. I'd drive, but I can't go. :P

Eh. It does what it was designed to do - namely, get commuters in and out of Boston during rush hour. Anything else? not so much.

lmao so they're moving to Kendall now

This situation seems familiar *cough UGS*

This thread should just be named GU Framingham since that's the only reliable place lol

I just took this as more of the general Boston area thread more than anything else. I really just need to actually start putting in the time so I can start trying to get out to place. The only places that actually exist right now are GU and Game Over (when it starts back up) right? Last I ever knew Brain Box has been closed for months

I'm already committed to Friday I think. Going to meet up with some dudes for another game no one plays (not UMvC3/SF).

I won't be at GU this Friday, not sure if anyone will have a setup because of the tournament the next day.

Hello everyone. I just got back to Mass and am looking for local casuals. Preferably offline, but I do netplay. If there are any weekly meetings or events, i'd love to attend. Message me or hit me on psn

If I were to make a tourney possible for March 18th how many would be interested? even thinking about including a good (cheap) price since it would probably be free to enter since BB doesn't really attract that many people
