If I were to make a tourney possible for March 18th how many would be interested? even thinking about including a good (cheap) price since it would probably be free to enter since BB doesn't really attract that many people

As in, as part of this Game Over stuff? Is that restarted? where? I heard it was moving to Kendall, but then info kinda dried up?

I'm interested, but on a Tuesday night it'd be highly location dependent, since I'd need to work the next day. If it's in Kendall, I have no excuse though.

Soooo apparently the Game Over facebook page now says this is at John Harvard's Brewery and Alehouse in Harvard Square? anyone going to be there?

Posted

since this thread exists i guess i'll throw this out there - if anyone intends or wants to attend pax east, i'd be willing to let you squat at my place. my expectations are: you live out-of-state; you are not a shitlord; you don't smell; you play fighting games. if i hosted you for GUTS last year, you're good (my room has upgraded significantly since then). pm if interested. (i'm not considering anything similar for anime boston.)

if you're in the want-to category, be advised that pax is the same weekend as civil war.

hopefully people are going Tuesday <_<

I'm assuming that I need to bring my ps3

unsure about TV set ups so ill ask them (Melee gets a ridiculous turnout from what I've seen)

Well, I'll be there. I've been too tired/lazy/annoyed by the cold to show up lately, but next Tuesday, I promise.

So I was at Game Over yesterday, and it was a huge mess.  There basically wasn't enough space in the new location, and about 75% of what space there was was taken up by Smash setups.  It was like:

~10 smash setups

2 Monster Hunter (Buh?)

2 SF4

1 KOF

Aaannd...that's pretty much it.

Depressing. And cover charge.  Not going back unless I have reason to believe things have changed.

is anyone going to anime Boston who wants to play some bb or some p4u. figured i post this in here in case someone is going. also do we need to bring a fight stick and the game itself or something (first time going).

also while im at it, is there anywhere i can play offline. i live 30 min from boston and am wondering if i can get someone to play with me offline at a place. i play p4u and bbcp when english release. im new if u could not tell. be playing fg's for half a year about.(also heard brain box is closed)

Dunno.  People might play at Game Underground in Framingham, if that's convenient to you.  Otherwise, not really much in the way of 'venues'.

I'm local to Boston, but I don't think I'm going to Anime Boston; $65 to get in to play some BB seems like a lot, but maybe I'm weird.

Posted

yea 65 is too much

25 would of been a much more reasonable price <_<

all of our venues that were good have closed down so yea, onine warriors for now

I would hold casuals but I go to school in western Mass and I'm going back there Sunday

Just moved up to Massachusetts and I'm heading into Boston Sunday.  I think I'll check this out.  Anything I need to know?  They'll be people there on Sunday, right?

Ah, check what out on Sunday? =/  The 'Game Over' event is strictly a Tuesday thing, AFAIK, and at the moment, doesn't seem like it will have any BB unless someone steps up to bring a setup AND they mysteriously find room to...er... set it up.

Game Underground in Framingham MIGHT have players, but I dunno, and they're only loosely 'in Boston'.

I think they're all over at AB this weekend.

First time posting, but currently a MA resident who lives in Andover. I might've met some of you at Game Over - I was the Nu/Amane player. How has it been?

The brainbox gaming center.  It says it's open noon-10PM, right?

The info in this post is old, alas. I think Brain Box is long closed.  =/

And oh, is this Anime Boston this weekend? x.x  I guess I should come out from under this rock occasionally...

I think we probably met, Epiren - I was the Tsubaki player. :P  As mentioned in other posts, I haven't been to GO since before the holidays, except for this past week, which was not a positive experience.  The new venue just doesn't offer the amount of space needed.   While Tommy Doyle's was cramped once things got rolling, at least they had room for more than 4 setups of things that weren't Smash.

/does not understand the popularity of Smash

Ah yes, you were the one who tricked me into thinking Tsubaki was top tier.

Haven't to GO since last year :( - more because I did not know its new location. It's in Harvard, no? I'll be visiting next week in hopes that there will be some room - I'll even bring a setup and the NA release straight from GS. The LE even.

Posted

Yeah, me and my chillion hours of Tsubaki netplay. ;)

It was still in Harvard last week, just in John Harvard's Brew House (basically the same building as the Garage).  If you're going to go with a setup, try to arrive early so you can claim a spot.  Note that there's a $5 cover now.

I guess I'll show.
