Airk Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Just looked up that location. That's.... less that entirely convenient for us red line goers. I guess I can probably drive. They damn well better have enough room for people.
Epiren Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 Well, for those that are coming just know that I did bring a PS3 + the game, but not the monitor. Supposedly, the new venue does have enough monitors for me to hook up if I come early enough... but I forgot the HDMI cable. Don't know if they have a supply of cables, but just in case would one of you mind bringing such a cable? If not - well. I can always buy another.
Airk Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 Yeah, orange line is sadmaking. I may drive. I am going to PAX! Rawr!
Mindgam3 Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Hey Boston players, is there a reason why you generally don't go to GU? I'm not trying to call anyone out, I'm just genuinely curious because I want to go where BB is being held!
Airk Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Because honestly, it's a bit of a haul for me to do on a work night - 30 minutes out in zero traffic, and believe you me, when everyone and their nephew is leaving Cambridge for the night, it takes me 30 minutes just to get onto the Mass Pike. :P The other reason is because I've never seen any indication that people actually go there to play BB - chicken and egg, I suppose, but there it is. I've been to LOTS of events where I had reason to believe there would be at least a couple of playing playing BB and it turned out there weren't, so I'm sure as hell not driving out to Framingham to watch people play Marvel then turn around and go home.

Is Saturday a work night for you? That is when they typically hold their monthly tournaments, and that is the only time I can ever feasibly expect anyone who plays BB from out of state to go there (myself included). If you're interested, perhaps we can try to host a side-tournament when the next one rolls around?
Epiren Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 If you are, then count me in too. Usually, when I do go on Fridays there are perhaps two people (me not included) who play BB. If you're there, then I can bring a setup next time I go.
Airk Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 My weekends are usually pretty busy (next two are completely full) but if someone wants to draw a line in the sand and say "Blazbue. Day X. Be there." I'll make the effort to show up because I'm a sucker. :P
Mindgam3 Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 Excellent. GU typically announces the dates of their tournaments via Facebook, but I'll be sure to post up here to make sure everyone is in the loop.
8088 Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 The next FG event for GU is going to be at the Pop Culture Expo at the end of may, if anything relevant is going on there I'll post up.
Epiren Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 Pop Culture Expo? Anyway - I will be attending tomorrow night's gathering for GO, if anyone wants to attend then: There will be Blazblue. There will be a PS3 setup for it. (I'll probably bring my xbox for other games). I will remember to bring a HDMI cable. There will be no Kokonoe.
Airk Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Sorry for non-attendance. This week is kinda crazy, between taxes, parents, and easter coming up. x.x
Epiren Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 I see. Well people did show up and there was an interest in BB - but no one thought to bring a PS3 controller.
sinder Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 lol sounds like the brain box tournament with the 360 issue
Airk Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 I see. Well people did show up and there was an interest in BB - but no one thought to bring a PS3 controller. Well, me and my single PS3 compatible fightstick wouldn't have fixed that. x.x Though I can bring a standard PS3 pad along next week as well if people want. (Actually, I may, MAY have two fightsticks that work on PS3 by next week.) Anyway, apologies again; I'll definitely be there next week if you will.
Synyster17 Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 "The event is still 18+ however we are dropping the $5 cover for under 21s. We will be running until midnight or 1am depending on how many people stay that late. We are looking at keeping the kitchen open later as well, we shall see what the first few weeks look like." could someone explain to me what this means? im only 18, just turned so last couple of weeks. am i aloud to play there. what does the 21 thing mean?? i guess it means drinking but i dont drink. i just want to make sure i can play with out being yelled at or something?

Uh, it means/meant that they used to charge people who were 18 or over, but not 21 a $5 cover charge, because they wouldn't be providing any income for the place by drinking, but that has now been dropped.
Airk Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 So, I still only have the single PS3 compatible stick, but I can bring a basic (but wireless) controller if folks want. Will be there tonight if others are.
8088 Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 I'll be there tonight, I'll try to bring an additional PS3 stick if I can get it wired back up.
Epiren Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 I'll be there with a PS3 pad and setup if anyone else wants to play, before we probably get taken over for Marvel/AE. What kind of wiring do you need to get done, eightyeightyeight?
Airk Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 okay, I'll be there around...7ish. Maybe a little earlier.
