Chazmobile Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Because it's a tournament and everyone's gotten better. Apart from me ;(
Chazmobile Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 I don't any time to play it either y'know! Oh don't worry i'm not complaining about that dude. Just saying how I haven't got any better as of late
Kujikawa Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 True, I mean you just recently lost the title of UK's Rachel.
kyzer Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Hey I'm new to BB i'm just joining the London scene.
Kanashimi Posted March 18, 2012 Author Posted March 18, 2012 Hey I'm new to BB i'm just joining the London scene. Yo welcome to Dustloop, hope you find what your looking for here.
Chazmobile Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Why is everyone online so free to the 5cc>asteroid vision A>lunatic upper frame trap? I swear everytime I did it I got a counter hit, stay mashy netplay.
Shruikon Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Because everyone mashes online. The worst part is I lose hard to it because I can't get in to start doing 5C > 6C frame traps and stuff =/
YukiBlue Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Hmm. Okay. Lot of Reflection has happened, And I came here to ask for advice *gasp* So, Basically. At this very minute, I've dropped Mu, Bang and Relius. I don't have a main anymore. I think my problems came from the fact I hit a plateau with my current cast. So I wan't to pick a new character to apply all the knowledge I have, I know so much about this game, but I struggle to apply it a lot of the time. I find one 'Okay' tactic and stick to it, Such as mu and her 6C Oki being restricted to simple 5D+4D Shenanigans. So. A) Rachel B) Tsubaki C) Carl D) Tager So I'm kind of getting into characters with nasty tech traps and Oki options. That's the list I have, I don't think I'll touch Mu until I break this barrier down. Pick one of them for me. Which is the most interesting character to play out of them all? I like all of the character designs, But I'm more focused on gameplay and their own specific styles. Just throw some names at me. Autopilot.
Chazmobile Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Honestly, just try all of them out in the lab and then in real matches. See who fits best with you and stick with them. It's not up to us to force you to play a character you may not like. Obviously I'm confounded about how you can even think of dropping Relius, for Carl no less. How could you drop a character so unbelievably swag? (Bang too) ;(
Kiba Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 What Chaz said really. Oh don't worry i'm not complaining about that dude. Just saying how I haven't got any better as of late I beg to differ. Hey I'm new to BB i'm just joining the London scene. Welcome to this thread!

But I just think playing the game from a new perspective could really level me up instead of mindless Rushdown.
Chazmobile Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 By the way Kiba, are we having an unlimited tournament at some point? I need to show the world how broken unlimited Relius is.
Chazmobile Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 I would rather avoid it. Stake through the heart. Ah well, guess we can't always have nice things... ;(

Zoular Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 A) Rachel C) Carl So I'm kind of getting into characters with nasty tech traps and Oki options. Notice what I bolded and what I deleted, pick Carl. inb4 Kiba: "biased" Hey I'm new to BB i'm just joining the London scene. WHO'S THAT POKEMON

Kriegdrache Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 Unlimited tournament where you're only allowed to use U.Tager
Chazmobile Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 All I can say to that picture is thank god it wasn't something from Fairy Tail. His eyes looks sad, like they know you are a bad person for not letting me have my unlimited tournament. Not so much a salty beast; rather a saddened one.
kyzer Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 Yo welcome to Dustloop, hope you find what your looking for here. Thanks for the welcome dude, I'm just looking to have as many casuals asap. I really want to level up in this game quite a bit but I have a way to go. My character types are Mecha only so I'm going to be learning lambda, Mu and Carl, ive dabbled with Carl a bit in cs2 but he looks significantly easier from then so I'll grind it out till I get there.
Kujikawa Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 (edited) @YukiBlue All those characters take a lot of commitment. Carl and Rachel both have a very unique style that you'll also have to learn and master along with everything else, this will be difficult at first. Tsubaki will make your BB career depressing for the first time you pick her up, but I'm sure Kiba would give you a lot of help with her. If your a netplay hero then Tager is cool, but offline, Tager takes some dedication (Sledge is not a command dash). Pick one that you really enjoy playing and stick with them. I made a mistake of playing loads of characters in CS2 (9k matches overall and only 1.4k with my main/top-used, Platinum) and my Platinum is not as good as I want her to be. @Chaz Yo man, I was ill all this weekend so I didn't get to play any Makoto mirrors with chuuu =( Next weekend, we must. Kiba Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 All I can say to that picture is thank god it wasn't something from Fairy Tail. His eyes looks sad, like they know you are a bad person for not letting me have my unlimited tournament. Not so much a salty beast; rather a saddened one. You are clearly asking for it. Tsubaki will make your BB career depressing for the first time you pick her up, but I'm sure Kiba would give you a lot of help with her. Thought it would be the other way round, as in it may get depressing much later down the line, but of course that's not something you should be concerned with since you're just looking for a character to use. If you pick up Tsubaki the Tsubaki forum and I will have your back. The learning curve for Tsubaki is quite low imo and so she is quite easy to understand and learn. The stocks provides a ton of variation in her combos and gives her unblockables which is good for keeping opponents on their toes. There are many ways to land unblockables, and you can check out the Tsubaki forum for the whole list on them. Her oki options are decent. They either give you more time to acquire stocks, or you could use a high/low/unblockable mixup. Midscreen she has really good oki options but they are stock reliant. Her air combos without stock are generally not good sue to bad positioning (leaving you to special cancel or charge all of which can be stuffed depending on the situation). However, they do give you time to acquire more stock. If you would like a character with a lot of variation in combos, unblockables, but requires a lot of hard work to become good with, then Tsubaki is your girl.
Kujikawa Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 I wanted to pick up Tsubaki for CS2, but picked Platinum instead since most of the Tsubakis on netplay spamed specials (j[D] > j214D) so I never really saw he amazing side to her. At the end of CS2, I began watching a few good Tsubakis from JP and I really feel for her again, but the Extend nerf made me forget her. A friend of mine is learning Tsubaki... I may join him, I really want to, but I gotta' stop neglecting my Platinum >.< I lover her pressure and mix-ups, I just don't like the idea of standing full screen spamming specials, which reminds me, is 236D safe on block? (Don't know extend frame data). Baa, I'm going crazy lol, back to IT coursework...
