Kujikawa Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 i'm not sure what you mean. I admit, I enjoyed FFX-2, but to say its better then FFX kills me inside a little.
Errol Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 I bought FF10. I don't think I made it past the laughing scene though. FF7 was the last FF I completed. Got to the last disc of FF8 and stopped.
Daedron Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 I only played FF7, 8, 10, 10-2, 12, 13 and 13-2. Beat 7, 10, 12, 13 and 13-2. Got to 3rd disc of FF8 and got lost (Too young to understand English fully, and no internet available to help.) 10-2 I just stopped playing after some point, can't be bothered completing it. FF isn't really my thing. Most of them are just way too easy, easy RPG's bore me to death. Though I heard some of the older ones are hard, guess I might have to play those someday.

At least the memorization system of FF1 was more interesting of a gameplay system, than well, anything I saw in 10 or 13.

EDIT: if you like hard RPGs id try demons souls, dark souls is...ok but it doesnt punish stupidity as hard as DS did. or the elder scrolls daggerfall, morrowing, and maybe oblivion later in the game. skyrims stupid easy. if you want a combat tough RPG try wizardry online, 20 monsters a room and they spawn faster than you can kill them + rng. Kujikawa Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 (edited) Yeah FF is easy as hell (The main series). FF2 and FF5 where the hardest for me. FF10's Sphere Grid system is amazing, the battle system was simplistic but fun. The story and the beautiful world of Spira is what blew me away, loved every second of it. The laughing scene is so lolz, ffs English dub. FF8 is my favorite FF though, then 7, then 10 or 6. This is coming from someone whos played all of them and most of the spin-offs. The worst FFs are XIII, XIII-2 and X-2. I also didn't enjoy FF9 as much, it was really a step down from 8s performance. 8 was...ew... All this 8 hate. Edited February 25, 2013 by Kujikawa

Felt the same way about 9. Tbh we could have an FF discussion all day, in fact this is the third time FF has been brought up in this thread xD

AGAIN NO MENTION OF BREATH OF FIRE!!... Shame on you...
psycofang2 Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 Symm isn't this the fourth time FF has came up as the topic at hand? AGAIN NO MENTION OF BREATH OF FIRE!!... Shame on you... all; the breath of fires are legit shit, the get too easy though. valkyrie profile lenneth gets hard if you dont know what you are doing or properly plan yourself. bosses and special monsters do really freakin high damage, even certain random generated monster teams can become lethal, (lookin at you trio of fatal glimmers) they self destruct dealing a good 10k+ damage to each party member per glimmer in the party. these are normal monsters...
psycofang2 Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 if you liked lunar try lufia. its like lunar, golden sun, FF5, and pokemon had a not retarded baby.
Milln Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 The lunar games were really good IMO. Only the original ones. The new ones are garbs and only quick cash grabs against people looking for a Lunar 2 Eternal Blue Complete remake. Breath of Fire 4 is one of my all-time enjoyed RPGs. I dunno about they get too easy, though. Rider, the postgame monster, is a... well... monster. Has Star Ocean 2 been brought up, yet? This one IS my all-time most enjoyed RPG. It's wonderful. O=
Errol Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 Yeah, I was only talking about Silver Star Story and Eternal Blue. The others, I don't know. I think I downloaded Magic school at some point but I haven't played it. I played all of the breath of fire games and enjoyed all of them. But I didn't finish Dragon Quarter. That was an interesting experiment but it was just too forced. Keep playing the game over and over, death is certain each time but you get a bit farther each time, till the game is over I guess.
Darret_Wallace Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 (edited) Just to bring ff up again, 8 is the game game i've most recently completed, and that's any game not just ff. It goes 7 > 9 > 8 > 4 > 6 > 1 > 12 > 5 > 2 > 10-2 > 10 > steaming pile of dog shit > horrible slow painful death > 13. I never played 3 or 13-2, nor any of the mmo ones. Also Milln, so2 has been brought up, that's the game i'm playing atm, just got to the end of the final dungeon and now off to do optional stuff. Rolling with Claude Rena Ashton Precis. EDIT: A game that got a lot of hate but i liked was lunar:dragon song/genesis. Edited February 25, 2013 by Darret_Wallace

Errol Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 I haven't played any persona games except P4A
Ctrlaltwtf Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 how do...i even respond... A barrage of nuclear missiles seems appropriate for this situation.
Ctrlaltwtf Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 Activate Code Red/ (sorry of this image is big, its hard to tell on my phone)

I actually managed to take my first playthrough all the way to the end of the game. =O Death or D-Counter 100% isn't necessarily -certain- but it certainly helps to soften the blow of "playing the same game over and over" in that your D-Ratio increases so you get to see more of the game each time it happens. Also Milln, so2 has been brought up, that's the game i'm playing atm, just got to the end of the final dungeon and now off to do optional stuff. Rolling with Claude Rena Ashton Precis. Who'd you pick as your focus in the beginning? You'll love Ashton's new Killer Move you'll get in the bonus dungeon. =D It's fun. Heck, the whole bonus dungeon is fun and quirky. have any of you tried SMT raidou, devil children, devil saga series? im not even gonna mention persona, everyones played persona 1-4 I remember playing Devil Kids. Not much else other than I had a lion. Speaking of bonus stuff being fun. RADIATA STORIES. The bonus dungeon is so wacky. I love stuff like that where the game simply makes fun of itself.

What's the key to this? I seem to remember coming up against bosses that were like impossible at the strength I was at without blowing the whatever it was that boosts your gauge way up.

Now that I actually really think about it, it may not have been Playthrough 1, but maybe Try #2. I did the first part where you were pair with Bosch once (or twice) and racked up a few items and party exp to spend on the other two later. Other than that, I don't remember too much, other than Nina's traps being strong and really manipulating the movement and attack ranges.
