-Seo Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 You beat me to it. Anyone remotely interested in action games should buy this asap. The bossfights take godlikeness to another level, especially Monsoon. That was the best boss I EVER fought. And the Jetstream Sam fight. SO. FUCKING. GOOD. The bossfights in this game are fucking AMAZING. Best boss' in probably any game I've played, everything about them is perfect. Monsoon is definitely my favourite so far.
Kujikawa Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 Why does no-one ever mention Radiant Historia when they talk about good RPGs? :< Don't have a DS ='( And emulating it is very sad, no quality music and shit video.
Kanashimi Posted February 23, 2013 Author Posted February 23, 2013 I don't like those inverted commas you got going around the word play there. .... No comment. :D Also speaking of RPGs why has no one said Breath of Fire? :L
Daedron Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 Why has no one said Valkyrie Profile 2 OR Xenoblade yet? or SMT... Goddamn you people :V
Ctrlaltwtf Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 Why has no one said Valkyrie Profile 2 Yes!! OR Xenoblade yet? Not sure why I never finished it.
Daedron Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 Yes!! One of the better combat systems in an RPG, loved the hell out of it. Not sure why I never finished it. It kind of drags on with long periods of downtime, but I loved the music and environments so much that didn't bother me. Combat also doesn't evolve that much throughout the game. It still ranks in my top 5 RPG's though, and was definitely my number 1 in 2012.
Darret_Wallace Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 Will you be dressed like your avatar? I only save that for special occasions. For you perhaps.
-Seo Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 I only save that for special occasions. For you perhaps. That's good enough for me. Count me in bby.
Kriegdrache Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 You beat me to it. Anyone remotely interested in action games should buy this asap. The bossfights take godlikeness to another level, especially Monsoon. That was the best boss I EVER fought. And the Jetstream Sam fight. SO. FUCKING. GOOD. >That final boss I got so many boners. This game has best OST too. 2nd best Metal gear game, after Snake Eater imo
Kujikawa Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 (edited) Why has no one mentioned Grandia! Why has no one mentioned Wild Arms! Why has no one mentioned Phantasy Star! Why has no one mentioned Shadow Hearts! Why has no one mentioned Dragon Quest! Why has no one mentioned Suikoden! Why has no one mentioned any Compile Heart, Gust or pretty mcuh everything localized by NIS America!.. Oh wait, that's because there a load of SHIT! (Disgaea was cool though) Edited February 24, 2013 by Kujikawa
Elochai Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 Why has no one mentioned any Compile Heart Just gonna drop by and say a lot of Compile Heart games are godlike. Shoutouts to Agarest, yo. Also, if any of you haven't played Resonance of Fate, you gotta get on that. It's a pretty good RPG.
Zoular Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 Why has no one said Valkyrie Profile 2 OR Xenoblade yet? or SMT... Goddamn you people :VGolden Sun, Paper Mario, Mario & Luigi... Screw you all these are fun.
Kujikawa Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 Just gonna drop by and say a lot of Compile Heart games are godlike. Shoutouts to Agarest, yo. Also, if any of you haven't played Resonance of Fate, you gotta get on that. It's a pretty good RPG. I hate it. But I can truly understand why people enjoy it. My main hate is focused towards Hyperdimension and things like Trinity Universe, Cross Edge, etc. I just feel they lack in gameplay and story. I have played RoF, but I still haven't completed the end because I'm still trying to beat Neverworld (?) lol. I can't do it... ITS SO HARD. I think everyone is fully leveled apart from like Grenades of something :s
gamester Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 The world has too many good RPGs, if only I spent more time buying games than figures xD Mentioning RPGs, my Xenoblade OST arrived the other day. Got it from PlayAsia if anyone is interested, they got them in stock again Sorry Gamester what I should of said is Brighton is small, and Bristol is weak, but still has an active scene and with Zen United being so close they've always been there for support and prizes. ;_; It's good to know Zen are in the city but a shame nobody wants BB around it seems. Only event I can think of in Bristol atm is this weekday thing (Wednesday or Thursday I can't remember) where the games more players turned up for are played I guess. I'll have to ask if they've got any Arc games down there at all and if it's still going as I lost interest when there wasn't any BB to play xD
Nhur Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 Thanks everyone for all the info about your scenes, I need confirm it in my work and the airlines but probably I will go there the last march week for a 4 or 5 days, will be my first time in Uk but I prefer play with people of there more than make turism hehe, I need practice my english for my work too (like everyone that are not from uk, he he) I saw that you are talking about RPG´s I love this genre of games, but the current RPGs are not the same fun that Ps2 or Psx RPGs. (well I am talking about JRPG) Wild arms was amazing specially the ost, Suikoden series was my favourite games aside GG, Grandia 1 got the best fighting system for a RPG (in my opinion)
Mr OSD Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 >That final boss I got so many boners. This game has best OST too. 2nd best Metal gear game, after Snake Eater imo I'm a bit confused on what I should think about the final boss to be honest. The actual gameplay was amazing, but the boss itself is underwhelming and really lame. I don't know much about the Metal Gear universe, but it felt like he was making fun of his own games with that fight lol. And the OST is godlike indeed. I downloaded it the other day and I'll be playing BB with it from now on. But the little bit of wubstep in every song does piss me off a little. It's totally unnecessary. But not even the abysmal dubstep can ruin this OST. My favorite songs are: 1) A stranger I remain (Mistral theme) 2) It has to be this way (Final boss, Final form) 3) The only thing I know for real (Jetstream Sam)
Adam0812 Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 The music in revengence gets you pumped, but you can't even compare the OST to that of previous metal gear games. Harry gregson Williams versus some metal x dubstep band, I know what I'd go for
Fistmaster049 Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 1 match fist? Such a cock tease! Didn't realise playing me was such a pleasure lol it was a GG though sadly I got called away, I have a quick check to see that Ash has been wanting me to play all afternoon, sorry to him I've been a bit busy sorry and sadly (also) I won't be available tonight either, I've only got about an hour break to post this, besides it wouldn't surprise me if I have been sucking lately as a lot of my attention FG wise has been going into Marvel (its my scene's main game, no BB so its as close as I'll get >.>) ah well, I'll try and be on and not scrubby at BB on Monday
Kriegdrache Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 I'm a bit confused on what I should think about the final boss to be honest. The actual gameplay was amazing, but the boss itself is underwhelming and really lame. I don't know much about the Metal Gear universe, but it felt like he was making fun of his own games with that fight lol. He was making fun of them I think, lol. "Nanomachines, son!"
-Seo Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 I just with the last boss didn't have health packs spawn everytime you did the whole cutting phase bit. Felt like it took away the challenge from what was a pretty fun boss. Ah well, time to get slaughtered on revengeance mode.
Kujikawa Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 Grandia 1 got the best fighting system for a RPG (in my opinion) This man knows.
DragonLordZ Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 Are we talking about great RPG's and no one has mentioned Skies of Arcadia?!?!?! Because ya'll just don't know good until you've played Skies of Arcadia, the main character (Vyse) is an ALIVE version of Kamina, the ship battles were brilliant, the story was great, the characters were pretty much all cool in their own way and the fucking soundtrack was godlike, soooo unique I mean I've never heard a battle theme like it, or in fact played many (if any) other games where the music changes depending on whether you're winning, losing or doing alright in a boss battle. Exploring the world was pretty great too since you could just go on up to random stuff floating about that you hadn't seen before and if you hadn't been there before you get a message saying you;d discovered it and then you could sell the knowledge of the discovery for money (lol), most of the discoveries were hidden really well though I couldn't find them all even WITH a guide. Did I mention you explore the owrld by flying about in a goddamned AIRSHIP!? YEAH MUTHAFUCKA you're an AIR PIRATE, but a GOOD air pirate, a blue rogue, not evil unlike those BLACK(lolracism) rogues no bitch you're like ROBIN hood, robbing rich peeps hoods to give to the... uhh... village on your island like a true capitalist! Yeah there were waaaayyyy too many random battle but they were toned down a bit in the gamecube version I played and they don't stop it from being the best RPG I've played, handsuru downuru.
