tbh-- I always wanted to play noel but the standard dick that plays her pissed me off so many times I misplaced my hate for her char -- she can actually be fun to fight but drive spammy retards or other lame "tricks" if you can call it that just sorta put me off to the char in general.

Sorta like I wanted to play nu back in CT but it seemed like everyone else wanted to spam swords and when I saw how irritating it was I logically decided to play a more balanced character like Jin, you know cause I knew so much about fighters back then....

but I am on the hunt for a 5th char to play inbetween CP, thus far with Lord Ive been trying my hand at makoto -- pretty fun messing up every distortion cause I cant hoold D rofl

Sigh-- thatll be the day eh? well Im glad I finally bought a ps3 so that on the off chance CP doesnt release to the Xbox

yea you were pretty optimistic Lord, hopefully when I upgrade my connection we can have some real good practice sessions in before CP

why are so many people so vocal about their butthurt for mu's return in CP? They talk about her like she is some kind of super char that everyone mastered like Rags? (well not super but you understand)

And quite frankly there weren't very many excellent mu12 players -- at least on the xbox end.... and I dont remember a mu slappin everyone outta tourny's... so whats the problem?

Mu's reward is too high for low risk moves like 3c, 5c and j.c. It's that aspect of her that's completely unfair. Losing 6k~ for getting tagged at max range with a massive airpoke midscreen is disgusting, it's even worse than CS1 Litchi j.c, which was unanimously stupid.

Mu dishes out the damage fairly. There, I said it.

She get's straight up disgusting numbers on CH, But how is that not fair? You deserve to get that 6K if you don't respect her. Most of the Butthurt comes from "Holy shit, I have to change my gameplan?! FRAUD CHARACTER"

I see a ton of people on this forum complain about Mu. Touch her and she dies. She touches you and you die. Glass cannon. Boss character. Be quiet.

She's annoying to play against. That's pretty much the reason anyone will complain about anything. There are a good number of real, definitive arguments as to what should probably be changed about the character, however there are aspects of balance in them, which is something people tend to ignore.

Lower echelon damage is good, upper echelon damage is too high, max damage... doesn't really come up.

Easy access to strong meterless and metered defensive options, only slightly compensated for with a subpar CA. Weakness is in the hitboxes and not the frame data. On paper they look ridiculous, but in game they can be baited in ways that others cant, such as neutral jumping on Mu's wakeup.

Ability to absolutely shut down the neutral game beyond fundamental approaches, requiring excellent play from the opponent to beat. Most player's weaknesses in fighting games is playing neutral, as that's the aspect of the game that requires the most experience, therefore characters like Mu/Rag/Hak seem incredibly overpowered because "it seems that they have to do less work to win than me".

Some examples of why people complain about µ.

Eventhough mu is annoying to play against, she is not the annoying one.

I have seen people comment me that her combos and style take "little effort to play and use" (which i disagreed) mostly because of her damage output.

edit: if the current information is correct, then Mu's overdrive will make her steins fire faster. I could be wrong, but it does not look that gamebreaking to me for sacrificing a burst.

err actually I very rarely have any kind of issue fighting other mu players with my subs - I would assume all of us would be able to conceptualize that?

and what did you mean about dmg? you mean hate from others or literally she does too much dmg?

It's more about the damage from randomness, you're not really getting a hard read or punishing a dumb decision, you're just poking and hitconfirming. You know that feeling when someone breaks your throw in the corner, you catch them with 5c air unblockable and do over 6k, I don't feel like I've outplayed my opponent or anything :/ welll whatever I'll just keep pressing them buttons and doing all that damage while I still can.

Hm guess I worded the frustration part wrong, more like "can be frustrating sometimes" I guess? I dunno, I'm not as comfortable playing my subs and all, so when I face a Mu, I feel like I know what their options are but not how to deal with it correctly, as a lot of stuff isn't as intuitive as with some other characters. It's also not a matchup I fight very often (haven't fought another Mu in a few months now, I think), so it's kind of hard to learn it, and that's also probably a big part of why people don't have a fun time dealing with this character.

but anyways, onto more fun stuff... thinking about doing a video to remember all the fun/broken/cool stuff we could do with this character. setups, combos, etc... some of it that was discovered a while ago, as well as some new stuff I've got. Still not done optimizing it but here's some of that new material:
