gli Posted April 9, 2012 Author Posted April 9, 2012 Yeah with Rachel everything has to go smoothly. Dropping a combo hurts more since you spend your really important resources doing it. Wind makes combos possible. Wind makes zoning more effective. Wind makes your movement stupidly good. The only problem is that it's limited so you have to learn how to use it. I went 0 - 2 at TXSD but they were all down to the final round. Speaking from experience, I always get discouraged when I drop stuff so the rest of my game suffers. I think the best way to learn Rachel is to learn what to do when things go wrong rather than assuming things will always go right (as in, oh I'll never drop this combo, etc.).
TD Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 watch vids, write stuff down, practice it and take to to offline/netplay
YukiBlue Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 Sorry for my horrendous grammar. It's late and im on a train home with a phone. I think I've nailed the main windless BNB's from common starters such as 2A, 5B and 4B corner ect (And one wind BNB's such as the 5CDC). But I'm struggling with just Rachel's playstyle in general. With Mu I could steal peoples options and I want to excel at that with Rachel too. I watched Kuro Hane (Sp?) and Matsu and I just DA FUQ'D all over the place. It'll take time, But it's going to be worth it.
Sakaku Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 The Rachel bible You might want to read that. Everything but combos (and pressure to an extend) is still good to read, too good in fact haha. I feel like someone has to update this guide to CSEX status, we or rather all the new people who are showing up now really need it.
Rele Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 j.B/j.C, land, dash 5B, 5CC combos are amazing. I need to grind those. Need to work on my movement. I just counted movement actions (outside of combos) of a random jpn. match and compared them to the amount of movement actions in one of my matches. Result: 83:23 Gli I wanted to see your Rachel on that random netplay stream :<
YukiBlue Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 That Rachel guide will keep my occupied all the way home. Also. Is A Lobelia good for stopping people jumping out of Frog Oki? So like Corner combo > 5CC > frog > 236A ?
Sakaku Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 (edited) A lobelia is a great tool to punish tech rolls, it can also catch jumps, but I think that 5B is more reliable if you know your opponent is going to jump out of frog oki. Just do 5B > 236A. If they tried to jump, you'll hit them with 5B and george activates. Go for (5B) j.C 2D jc j.2C 2a(w) 5C(w)C 214A afterwards. Edited April 9, 2012 by Sakaku
gli Posted April 10, 2012 Author Posted April 10, 2012 Gli I wanted to see your Rachel on that random netplay stream :< Only top 8 was streamed. I didn't earn it :<
Rele Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Huh, I mean the one from ~an hour ago, where you played Hakumen.
gli Posted April 10, 2012 Author Posted April 10, 2012 Oh lol. That stream was beginner icon marked so I didn't want to use Rachel there. My Hakumen is Scrubby so it fit in.

kirbster Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 I just woke up from a dream where I was playing a mirror match against Tari. You did this crazy windless throw combo and I was like wtf is this, mod powers??
gamester Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 I've somehow ended up not playing BlazBlue properly, recently. Think I got caught up in RPG's, Sonic games, anime and figma again xD At least I've been in a good mood I suppose and not getting stressed about things. Think I'll resume playing BlazBlue again soon, so much for trying to play bit by bit daily.
YukiBlue Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 (edited) I just acquired a PSP. Any good JRPG's? / Sims / JAPAN I should download? + Where abouts in England are you from gamester? Edited April 10, 2012 by YukiBlue
