There was a trailer, flyers, it was announced on podcasts and interviews, but it never got coverage by SRK, Eventhubs or the other websites like other majors do. For instance, the tournament thread wasn't stickied on SRK until the week of the tournament, other majors were up there the month of the tournament. They did make an announcement about it on the front page of SRK until the day it happened, other majors got coverage for months until they happened. The trailer that was released got put into a video roundup, instead of having it's own article like the other ones. In general, they tried to do all they could to let people know it was happening, but the big guys never did anything on their end. Oh well, it'll probably do much better next year. That is fucking terrible on so many levels. I live in the midwest and didn't even know it happened. I spent friday playing melty blood with brandino and doing other stuff. I seriously doubt you can "block" Bang's FRKZ mix-up mid-screen for more than a second. I know I can't I just chicken block and disrespect, hope it works. It usually doesn't.

I was playing IBeeTrolling's Bang last night and managed to block most of the cross-up mix-up until 5C lol. I find it easier to block cross-ups than overheads for some reason. unless the bang (THAT bang) is straight-up predictable/bad in frkz, l can assure you, you will not block frkz bang consistently midscreen as zeth said. theres just too many instant options, leading to not one, but several 50/50's all at once. high/low, left/right, throw/strike, frametraps, etc. with any combination of the above, and more. he can really throw the book at you in frkz mode.

I don't really worry about frame traps since I'm not the mashing type but 5C and the command grab will fuck me up eventually (5C did). I'm not really worried about being crossed-up, reacting to cross-ups is the only part of my defense which I get right lol. I need to play more FRKZ-using Bangs. Him, Drako, and sometimes zeth and feux are the only ones who I've seen even attempt to use that thing.

One of those three most likely. Although I won't know for sure until I play it since I haven't been following it closely and still haven't seen some characters like Yukiko.

(No seriously, take a look at all the characters I use in fighters and tell me she doesn't fit my style perfectly. :3) But I'm also really wanting to use Yukiko and Shadow Labrys. I think Shadow Labrys is a character people are sitting on, no one ever wants to take the time to learn puppet characters, so nobody knows any real combos or traps with her yet. It's been a month, I expected more.

While this is true, it only took them a few days to start finding crazy stuff with Elizabeth. Basic combo theory still applies with Shadow Labrys, find moves that have enough hitstun to setup an attack with your pupper and keep comboing from there. I just find it odd that the most anyone has found is AAA > Persona hits 1 time > Super. =/

You mean to say that you didn't know who you were going to play based on videos alone (BB)? Before I played CT, my candidates were Nu, Jin, and Noel. Nu and Noel didn't work out so I stuck with Jin. If I were to pick up P4U, I'd probably play either Labrys or Yukiko. Labrys because of that big ass axe and Yukiko because of her zoning prowess and her normals.
