Dont_Explain Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 Thanks for confirmation Toan. D_E wtf yo. 6D on my wake up? 2C for no fucking reason? Stick to safer stuff bro. there is a wing ding dinner in front of me. I want to conquer it. Well 6D I'm off the ground, so you can't 360/720 me and 2C was a fail at trying to 22C. That's why I should whiff a 5a/2a and then do 22C.
Chris Chaos Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 @Toan: I've been practicing for SJ6. BB, VF5:FS, and looking into P4U like a madman! Now that school has started, I'm going to slow down a bit but I'm sure that online is probably going to kill me for the first day but w/e. I just miss playing the damn game with you guys! Internet is up, going to buy some stuff and be online in about an hour or 2
toanenadiz Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 TOAN ARE YOU STILL ON? Yeah. I'm in Axis's room.
A.X.I.S. Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 Well 6D I'm off the ground, so you can't 360/720 me and 2C was a fail at trying to 22C. That's why I should whiff a 5a/2a and then do 22C. Yes I can punish 6D. All I gotta do is backdash it. I eat a lot of 22C's because I can't tech worth shit. Ask LK about that shit.
Dont_Explain Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 I'm not sure why, but I'm just choking on simple inputs and getting nervous for no reason. like I failed to IAD like a bunch of times (Toan would have hit me out of most of em anyways) and just in general not doing anything.
A.X.I.S. Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 IAD on Toan with Ragna. I still lost but I was close. Fucking lag.
Dont_Explain Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 IAD on Toan with Ragna. What? The one thing I'm really not supposed to do that much is what I should do? Of course. How did I not see this coming?
A.X.I.S. Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 You gotta know when. Just don't do it because you think your cock is huge. Do it at the right time. I'm not suppose to jump on Lambda but I do because I know when. Also, last match my bro's gf is streaming stuff.
pneuma Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 I'm not sure why, but I'm just choking on simple inputs and getting nervous for no reason. like I failed to IAD like a bunch of times (Toan would have hit me out of most of em anyways) and just in general not doing anything. Nerves...This happens to me a lot, especially if I feel like everything I'm doing is being critiqued. I also succumb to a lot of 'wouldn't it be cool if....' moments and do strange things. Wish I could blame netplay but I've played over 300 matches online and I should be used to the slightly delayed execution barrier. What I've learned is when nerves set in it means I'm not controlling the match. Solution? I'm thinking whiskey.
Agni Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 Solution? I'm thinking whiskey. I know you're joking but I don't think getting wasted is going to help much.
Star-Demon Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 I try to go by "Netplay is not an excuse". "Netplay is not an excuse""Netplay is not an excuse""Netplay is not an excuse""Netplay is not an excuse""Netplay is not an excuse""Netplay is not an excuse" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h9BUCf5dFfQ
pneuma Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 I know you're joking but I don't think getting wasted is going to help much. I disagree. I should get a mic too. And play bad music.
Agni Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 I disagree. I should get a mic too. And play bad music. That would be absolutely hilarious, I'd pay to see someone stream that.
Moy_X7 Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 (edited) Part of me finds it a bit funny when people talk about "blocking overheads" on netplay because outside of certain situations, if you have the reactions to be able to block them, you should actually be pressing a button / throwing them instead. It's such a small difference between changing a stick direction slightly or pressing a single button or two, and yet in terms of a match that can actually be a huge difference. It becomes even easier if you actually have a DP or some form of one because then you don't even have to worry about it somehow trading. It being netplay shouldn't really matter either since we are talking about being able to react>block to begin with, so you should be able to react>button press under the same conditions. I can't begin to count how many times I've tried to react to an overhead with 2D but just due to the nature of the move it didn't work out, compared to say a DP character reacting the same way can get it 100% for free. I guess I could just press 5A or throw, but that would be splitting hairs since the frames are almost the same and sometimes I do that anyway. I'm definitely not saying that I don't sometimes auto pilot to just blocking overheads myself, but it's one of those things some people might not even think about that they are doing. That works if I have the bat equipped with Plat because it's a 1 button, 1st frame reversal. While I can react to the overhead and block it, if I try to push A it will be too late and I will get counter hit, specially with the couple of frames of input delay brought to you by netplay. Netplay, play responsibly. Well 6D I'm off the ground, so you can't 360/720 me and 2C was a fail at trying to 22C. That's why I should whiff a 5a/2a and then do 22C. If he doesn't have the meter for a 720, then time your meaties right since 360s are not frame 1 reversals. Edited July 13, 2012 by Moy_X7
mAc Chaos Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 You have more time to block than push a button. You have until the very last second the overhead hits, to hold back and block. But to hit them out of it you have to attack a lot earlier.
Moy_X7 Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 It's not that you have more time but more that by the time that you can react to the overhead, it will be too late to push a button. Well that's unless you have a 1 button, 1st frame reversal or if you can input a DP/reversal command that fast. In the other hand, standing up is damn near instantaneous. In light of that, instead of pushing a button, what I do is backdash. If the opponent's OH has enough recovery then I might even be able to push a button afterwards.
Moy_X7 Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 If you wanna look at it like that, then that works too. Whatever the case, if you push a non-reversal button, you're going to have a bad time lol.

Starlight777 Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 So if I'm not being ganged up on in Max Anarchy later, who wants to body me in this game?
toanenadiz Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 GGs Akira, Axis and Skye. I learned that I don't know how to deal with Carl or Arakune. At least I know that I can just gold burst sledge in the future. And you ate a lot of netplay damage Axis.
Moy_X7 Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 So if I'm not being ganged up on in Max Anarchy later, who wants to body me in this game? I think I'll take you up on that offer. Set a near specific time and I'll be there.
