TD Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 we can play oni. hopefully the connection isnt shitty. inv?
Rhiya Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 I've already gotten my ass kicked plenty of times at offline gatherings, so I am used to it for sure haha. I just want to at least put up a better fight than usual ;_; You're not gonna get that /only/ from playing more. You need to figure out what you're doing wrong and work to change it while you play. If you're not fixing bad habits, chances are, you're just reinforcing them.
OniShirou Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 (edited) I understand. I make sure to record myself playing and take notes on what I do. I'm still in the stage of figuring out what works and doesn't work, so getting match exp I think is the way to go. With enough matches I should be able to pick up what's good and stick with it, and avoid what doesn't work. I do enough theory fighting in my head already, which doesn't seem to help me at all. Edit: Also I mained Litchi from CT all the way to CS2. I just changed to Tao in Extend, having never played her before. I only have about 500 matches under my belt with her compared to the thousands others may have. I got set back with this, and combined with not playing much during the previous spring cause of school, I lost a lot of potential growth. So I think just getting that needed experience will help me the most. Oh and I'll send an invite TD. Edited July 24, 2012 by OniShirou
xntrikcat Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 Anybody have a tip for fighting 9ball? The kid is unbeatable. Punishes anything and everything that 99% of PSN lets me get away with. I truly feel like a fraud after losing god knows how many matches. I have no ways around his reaction 5a/j.a. Most matches I'm cowering from the jesus kick. Frame traps work maybe 1/4 of the time and he adjusts his play so quickly that he never falls for the same thing twice. Meanwhile I'm eating every 6b and 2d, and get baited on every other DP attempts........ D: Props to him though, he's making Ragna mixups look fresh every time... I'm throwing in my towel.
gli Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 If you just keep in mind that all he wants to do is get in asap I think you can make the right adjustments. He doesn't jump as much as other players would.

Did you try shooting lasers at his general direction?
xntrikcat Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 Yeah, I need to work on my ground footsies. I'm jumping too much and he's able to cover way more ground/space just by not jumping. Easier said than done though. He's got that yomi fullscreen HF that caught me more times than I can count. #cantevendropastein Also, can somebody tell me why a whiffed Ragna 2c seems to recover so fast? By the time I see it finish whiffing, 5b is already on the way. -_-
TD Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 ggs oni. l wasnt bored l just wanted a quick nap to recharge. good luck at your tourney. cat i'd help but l haven't played nineball for a long time, l pretty much forgot how he plays.
Demon Wind Bomb Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 Nineball isn't that bad if you can keep him on the defensive. Although that is a lot harder than it sounds.

Nineball is really solid, you definitely have to keep proper footsies against him. Once you have him on the defensive, you can actually win though. He is a patient blocker but he is a bit weak to grabs, especially simple grab set ups surprisingly. Honestly, try not to fear him too much, it's how I started taking a lot of games from him. He is still a player that'll DP in expected moments, get hit by overheads, etc. You just have to get momentum and switch up your approach a lot, so that he isn't punishing you and getting his Ragna time on. I wish I was better at explaining so sorry if I sound stupid. Most importantly, just remember Nineball isn't unbeatable, nobody is.
gli Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 Revelation: Everyone is making alts so they can prepare for P4U netplay Don't deny this, it's true.
Rhiya Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 Screw hiding, I'll be on the same account and like twice as good, because Chie is gonna be so braindead compared to Litchi
toanenadiz Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 I would make an alt but I can't think of any name better than the one I have
TD Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 Screw hiding, I'll be on the same account and like twice as good, because Chie is gonna be so braindead compared to Litchi dont worry, theyre going to make her a harder, yet one touch = ggs in p4:continuum shift. with better oki. ggs to kiba. oi, l need another nap
Moy_X7 Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 My alt will be called Driving While Black. Dangerous combo... GGs to Star's room I swear, this guy is getting better if only very slightly, at a turtle's pace. Number of Tager's victim to the Platinum air tight block-string "infinite": 2
Moy_X7 Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 He can but the window for him to do that is really tiny, even on IB. That and those two Tagers just panicked and pushed buttons and got themselves killed lol.
TD Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 another reason not to play tager (as if more are really needed)
mAc Chaos Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uNscCKhGSJQ&feature=g-all-f At least it's not this.
Moy_X7 Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 How tiny? 1 frame tiny? Probably not that tiny, probably about 3-4 frames. It never occurred to them to just back dash. One of them did IB > 720 me though lol.
susano Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 I'm in a really good mood today. I offer a truce to anyone I had issues with in the past. May have a room up tonight, for intermediates.
