mAc Chaos Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 His movement options combined with hers is what kill him.
dioxideUniversa Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 hakumen's giant hitboxes are generally not the safest to use at neutral in that matchup as they do not match tao's speed at all
mAc Chaos Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Yeah so his great defensive options are not great here, and she can avoid all the giant hitboxes. The only saving grace is the damage but it's like Tager trying to catch a Lambda.
dioxideUniversa Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 i wouldn't say it's necessarily that difficult. hakumen does have the capability to control the matchup if he gains momentum (which is easier for him to do than tager in the lambda matchup for certain,) but tao has a lot more freedom due to her speed and mobility to play safe and seek cracks to capitalize on
mAc Chaos Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Yeah but that's when you are already in her face. I'm just talking about trying to get her pinned down. It's harder for Tager obviously but Hakumen still has plenty of trouble, since his mobility is worse than other characters.
Dawn of Musou Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Good game to everyone in the room last night. Dang, Dawn, your combo's wrecked me. ;A; 5C>5D>D Musou too strong. I remember during one of our matches I was trying to do a combo that ended with Ice Arrow and I accidentally did Hirensou. This is what I get for using directional pad.
NoSales Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Does spike chaser have some kinda weird hitbox/head inv, because I ran up to a Lambda after knocking them down and Makoto's 6B whiffed them while they were starting up spike chaser.

NoSales Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 So is spike chaser actually a viable wakeup move, just a real risky one?
kodimt Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 wat no. Just meaty their wakeup and it won't come out. But then they mash super hue
mAc Chaos Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 fine ill do it So is spike chaser actually a viable wakeup move, just a real risky one? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mL4ZsQjVyIE It's not that it is invincible. That's what makes it so weird. It's not invincible at all. It is the hitbox. She angles herself in a weird way that makes it so some attacks actually end up hitting behind her. At least that's my theory.
NoSales Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 (edited) Semi-late GGs to Vegnata and their room. Got some good Makoto practice; starting to feel a little more comfortable using her. Also, I went and tried some stuff against spike chaser. Like mac said, her hitbox goes forward into your hitbox, so some moves end up whiffing and going behind her. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYG-kzTQz5E Didn't try all the characters and moves, but here' some. I was gonna laugh if Tsubaki whiffed. Edited July 12, 2013 by NoSales
Moy_X7 Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 That's some homogenius shit right there Those point blank hit-boxes are weird as hell. Jin's 236A/B will go right through the opponent if done point blank.
Mucky Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Also I'd like to think Haku-men is one of the only characters with an easier time against her. Giant hit-boxes + many defensive options + great health + killing her in one combo = sounds pretty good for dealing with Tao. You could say the same thing for Tager... yet look at how that plays out.
TheYukianesa-01 Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 fine ill do it It is the hitbox. She angles herself in a weird way that makes it so some attacks actually end up hitting behind her. At least that's my theory. http://img818.imageshack.us/img818/4517/wkg6.png Looks like Haku hits -just- behind her hitbox, if my positioning is about correct, from looking at the video. So anything besides Enma can be used?
Star-Demon Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Oh my god almost all of litchis standing staffed normals. That makes me hella sad. Anyways - Games today or you guys just wanna watch evo?
toanenadiz Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 GGs XDest and that Hakumen. The path to Tao god is long and hard. I feel a little bit better though seeing XDest get hit with the same stuff I do when fighting Hakumen.

Sadeyo Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 GGs to random Tao God the Implicator for going 0-7. I think the last time we fought was back during CT and I was fighting NeoGio and one other Tao player to make up for the match-up.

I feel a little bit better though seeing XDest get hit with the same stuff I do when fighting Hakumen. Speaking of that Hakumen: http://www.boonce.org/up/classic%20fanmail.jpg I can't believe people still use that insult. It's pretty funny how butthurt he got. When I started using a bit more patience while approaching he wasn't really getting off any of that. He likes to whiff normals into counters way too much. After you've seen it a bunch of times you're just going to wait and punish it. kurostuski: Want to play more? In CT I was only on 360. CSEX is the only BB game I have for PS3 currently.
dioxideUniversa Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 you have no life for knowing how to deal with a sometimes horribly predictable character
Sadeyo Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 kurostuski: Want to play more? In CT I was only on 360. CSEX is the only BB game I have for PS3 currently. I'd be game if I wasn't doing chores and prepping for a barbque this afternoon, I just wanted to get a few games in with my lazy self and see how much the community can beat me. No fair for not giving me Ragna options or hirentotsu loops, no fun dude. CT you were on 360? My bad for making that mistake because I wasn't console hopping till the first CS. I must've mistaken you for Cake or something, sorry.
XDest Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Oh yeah, Toan you were really testing my defense there, good stuff. Some of those rounds I felt that if I pressed any buttons at midscreen that I would be screwed, that's pretty awesome. I don't usually feel that way against Lambda, I had to be a lot more careful than I usually am.
