Well, isn't that the point of Jin? Doesn't finally landing that hit without a great overhead make all the work worth it?

shoutouts to a certain astral not connecting when it should have, then getting astraled the next round when l (possibly) shouldn't have. i'm 200% sure l blocked that astral with barrier, l was in blocking barrier animation. i'm assuming bang's astral is unblockable or a throw, gonna check the wiki

Bang's 6B isn't all that great either. It avoids lows and is -1, but he still doesn't get anything off it unless you RC or it is CH and even then I'm sure it isn't much damage. You either gotta just do it and RC, or just do it and hope it CHs to get something off it.

You have 5C as an overhead though, 6B is just there as a gimme.

It's not really about the normal being bad, it's just that he's the ONLY character in the game that has a horrible overhead and doesn't have any other type of overhead to compensate for it.

-4 on block, crappy range, leads to nothing on hit (not even frame advantage against certain characters), it only gatlings from the jabs and 5B which makes it easy to escape if you feel it's coming (reversal, backdash). Really, it's only saving grace it's that it has a 19F start-up...

Enough of this though, after 4 games I should have just learned to deal with it XD

Jin's mixup is good enough as it is. He's not supposed to just go for straight overheads as his mixup, you have tons of frame traps and things like that. The overhead is there just to make sure the opponent doesn't fall asleep.

Sounds like a better version of Hazama's overhead, and both require 50 heat to be useful.

With DP D and j.236D being the only truly useful ones. 236D is extremely situational and easy to jump out of on reaction. 214D should really only be used against the projectile zoners when they whiff something. Besides, he needs his meter for a once in a match overhead lol.

I wonder what Jin would do if j.236D didn't work the way it did. Just hope to frame trap someone to death? Hope to fish for CHs all the time? lol

Thank you lol. I don't have problems with his overhead, but uh... Hazama gets like 5K and most of his meter back with his overhead, that shit is definitely more efficient than Jins.

As a whole, they both work the same in terms of how they are used though.

It's a good poke but I appreciate It being only -4. I also appreciate having three jumps because I know people wish they can just mash anti airs and acquire damage.

But we weren't even talking about Bang...and I wasn't even hating on my character.

I just mentioned 6B as an example cause of what I already explained. He mentions Bang has 5C, and Jin is the only character with a "terrible overhead", but I said he's also the only character with EX moves. Which all goes back to the point I originally made.

So I don't really see what this has to do with me or Bang, lol.

You have to be at the right distance though. We can't just fish for CHs with j.C, 5B, and 5C like we used to. We get nothing if we're not near the corner or point blank.

I'll give you the Ice Blades though, those things have a shitload of hit-stun on CH and lead to too much damage for a projectile lol.
