I'd like one 2D fighting game w/o a character doing insta overhead mix-up x N into victory.

I could swear I read that it could be canceled at the peak of the hop. I'm gonna look that up now.

Edit: yeah, it can.

Which characters seem like they have the most trouble opening up someone who is fantastic at blocking and teching?

How do throws seem to compare to BB as a mixup tool? Similar windows/startup, no TRM but no barrier option select, less damage...

Also, it seems to me that when Elizabeth does her persona grab, if you watch elizabeth instead of the persona it is rather reactable. It seems that the further the persona is from the opponent the longer the startup is due to movement required, so maybe when the persona is close its grab is unreactable.

1. Hmm.. since everyone has access to AoA and Sweep the only character I can say that has some problem is Labrys, but once she gets that hit it's hurts.

2. We are still waiting for more data on Throws. I heard it's faster startup but larger tech window, need confirmation. Not everyone can followup from a Throw without OMC/OMB so it's no where near as deadly as BB made throws to be.

3. I need to watch more Liz. Maybe Kiba can comment on this.

Well, some AoAs certainly seem reactable and seem to be reacted to a lot in recent footage that i've seen.

At least it seems like there's lots of good rapid cancel 50-50 mixup, but i am still concerned about lacking overheads that i can continue pressure off of or throws that lead into big damage..but i guess I can just play aigis or shadow labrys, hahaha.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. We'll just have to get those frame traps ready for when the opponent starts mashing lol.

Hm.

It's pretty much reactable when Thanatos is up close to. Elizabeth has a lot of holes with her normals that gatlings into 5D.

D: Does she have anything that makes them want to not just downback and react to the throw once she is that late in pressure? Pressure recycling options?

Well, if you really want to, you could use EX Maragidyne to bring them close for a mix-up if they're blocking. However, if they are going to just block like that, you could take the opportunity to push them farther out. She'll gain the SP right back and more so opponents will have to be a bit more aggressive.

the command grab is her most dangerous option in pressure, it kinda reminds me of tsu's 22d in that it needs quite a bit of conditioning. she has answers for every scenario, it's just an rps scenario most of the time. will they upback? downback? dp? you have to be spot on as her pressure is very unforgiving atm. OMC will be the glue to keeping the foe on their toes as it gives her two chances to mixup. in this regard, she has a unique form of mixup that looks really fun.

in terms of downback, grab/pressure reset works. for upback, bufu is air unblockable. 2c beats the dodges(rolls?) and mashing, and she's usually out of range for dp's. that's the general gist so far.

So are most of these remixes of already existing versions or what? I only know The Battle for Everyone's Souls, The Almighty, and Heartful Cry by heart so I wouldn't know.

LIST

I think Slaby's special that has Asterios slam the ground is a low, so I believe that could be used to make one. Have to see when I get my hands on it. :/

The list looks good.

Chie well rounded female? I was thinking she was more of the very short range rushdown power character archetype. Aside from the charging she seems very Makoto Nanaya to me, down to the color palette and the parry. Seems like Narukami is the only "well-rounded' character imo.

Is Chie Decent at Zoning, Running, Mixups, Does she have throw damage?, Does she have generally good anti-airs, jumps in pokes?

From what I've seen, Chie excels at pretty much everything but zoning. She looks like CSII Makoto to me lol. As for Yukiko, you could probably add "mix-up" as one of her main traits. Fire Break and 2D/j.D + 2A are unblockables and she can do some pretty strong cross-up mix-up with delayed Agi + Quick Escape/IAD.

Then again, most of her strong mix-up requires a knockdown or some other way to set it up, she can't just throw it out there.
