jiyuna Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 I know you guys have only had the game for a few days, but at least try and be more professional when discussing tiers. S Tier? B Tier? What does this mean? They're just abstract rankings made by netplay scrubs and stream monsters with no fact/science/math behind it. I live in Japan, and I know many Japanese players and have many Japanese friends. Japan is an advanced country (in my opinion, more advanced than America); and here in Japan, we believe that if there is no concrete data backing the tiers, then they are worthless. I might get in trouble with the guys at the arcade, but here is something that we have been working on the past few weeks. As you'll notice, this chart is much more polished and professional than the ones being discussed on this site. If you crunch the numbers, you'll notice that each individual character's proportion on the chart translates DIRECTLY to their CTWP (Chance to Win Percentage) For example, if Aigis(28%) fights against Yosuke(11%), then there is a 28% chance Aigis will win the match, and an 11% chance Yosuke will win. Akihiko vs Liz: 15% chance Akihiko will win, 13% chance Liz will win. Narukami vs Mitsuru: 21% chance Narukami will win, 26% chance Mitsuru will win. Etc. Etc... Compiling the data and making the chart wasn't easy, but we tried to make it simple enough and used many bright colors to ensure the Americans would also be able to understand. Hopefully people on this site will finally realize how pointless theory fighting is and begin looking at the math that goes on behind fighting games. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

WolfCrimson Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 I just died laughing. Tier pie chart: genius. Good shit, jiyuna.
Narcowski Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Okay, don't teck Yu's oki set up and watch what happens... I didn't mean "never tech", but you can delay until 5DD hits and eat ~400-700 extra damage to escape. Also, nice pie chart list
Skye Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 I didn't mean "never tech", but you can delay until 5DD hits and eat ~400-700 extra damage to escape. Also, nice pie chart list From what I've seen, the Yellow beat otg to knockdown combos. So you would just eat 400-700 extra damage for nothing. Be a man and tech.

I stand corrected then; somehow managed to never see this come up in a match video till now; Japanese players seemed to just delay tech and get out every time based on what I'd seen. Thanks to everyone for clearing up that misconception.
stickystaines Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 It combos but i think the reason its done is because they have to do the divekick to get the knockdown in that yellow beat combo and maybe you can't set another 5D after it? Seems you can only do the 5D followup and people would rather just block that than get mixed up from the 3 hit 5D.
Linear04 Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 For example, if Aigis(28%) fights against Yosuke(11%), then there is a 28% chance Aigis will win the match, and an 11% chance Yosuke will win. then theres a 61% chance of a draw?
Narcowski Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 then theres a 61% chance of a draw? 61% chance of this.
Zeik56 Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 then theres a 61% chance of a draw? 61% chance of rage quits or scrub wins that you pretend don't really count.
SolxBaiken Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 then theres a 61% chance of a draw? 61% chance of this. Fighting Game of the Year 2013

OmniSScythe Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 Hey Kurushii, how many Master ranked people are there on PS3? 360 just has one and 3 900+ PSR players who are using Chie, Yukiko and Elizabeth.

Such thing as a Master rank? It's F- to SSS that i've seen. Not many SSS. Look at my thread in the hidden online section for the list of top PSR's on ps3.
OmniSScythe Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 Yeah Master grade is right after SSS, only saw 1 person with it.
Kurushii Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 I just checked. Tomo-2577 (Slaby) is the only MASTER on PS3. Then for SSS we only have m0831_6189 (Yu), arex-s (Slaby), maxfell (Akihiko), kirichame (Chie), gomibakodarake (Yosuke), SPINKING_ONLINE (Chie), and hayasi0314 (Yosuke). The rest of the top 37 of Grades are SS. S+ goes all the way down to 168. S goes all the way down to 687.
Ai Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 (edited) Since I was actually interested in the percentages of the total, and calculated them all out, I may as well share them with you all. Just a useful perspective on the data - I'm sure it's usefulness could be argued either way. Converted to Percentages of the Total (with 3 significant figures) Also re-ordered by the new percentages of 800s. 08/02/12 PSR Totals (order by 800s) - Data from Kurushii's table above. Kyle Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 Interesting look at the totals Kurushii/Ai. Are these values fro XBOX, PS3 or Nesica? Possibly all (3). be interesting if the ranks are cohabitant.

I have PSR values for PS3 in the hidden online section and Omni will be getting me the 360 ones later today before NA hits.
