But yea, so far other then Heart's default arcana, I like Lang-Gong, cause fire is awesomeXD I like the shadow poring thing thats in the ground (sorry guys, I did more combos than reading ). Reminds me of playing with may since you have to hold the button to delay the usage for mixups and get out of jail free cards xD, I lub my Dolphins (and anything that reminds me of em :p) so much :D. But heres a question for you arcana savy guys out there. Can someone fill me in or send me to a place where I can learn more of the mechanics of the game? Homing Cancels are a given of course but I wanna know more about defensive manuevers. Like theres that dash guard thingy and Ive seen guard canceling. Tell me about other need to know stuff pweaz At second look at this game after getting a better understanding of rushdowns, mix ups, pressure, and reversals..............THIS GAME IS INSANE lmao. 10 different arcana up for grabs, ten different characters to mix and match, rechargable arcana meter for offensive rushdown/combos, defensive get the fuck out of dodge manuevers @,,..,,@. Oh yeah and guard breakers/unblockables. I had no idea what I was getting into :8/:. But damn it its fun as hell. But right now its alot to take in at once so I haven't trained BlueBerry Koolaid Jammer yet :/ (The Dark Poring Arcana). Edit: I did a wiki and found out its name is Gier. I'll call it by its official name from now on, lol, promise.

Well, you've definitely hit the nail on the head with the possibilities in this game:) Your best bet is reading the wiki on the guardcrush site: http://www.guardcrush.net/wiki/index.php/Main_Page This, and talking to people at SRK are what got me started. And don't get discouraged about learning the game. I've been playing since the day of the PS2 release and I still suck at the game:gonk: That's just because I'm a slow learner though. The guardcrush site should help you get on your feet.

This game is, without a doubt, a far more defensive game than GG, partly due to how offense-oriented GG is. Even so, there's not too much you need to know about defensively. Knowing which GC is perfect for which situation is something best learned through matchup experience. Picking your Arcana is merely personal taste, obviously. I say, before you set something in stone, try out EVERY arcana (Don't make the same mistake I made!). It's also a good idea to have a backup arcana (in your case, Dark arcana gets owned by Water arcana so it's always good to have a backup plan if you can't figure your own way out). This game may seem complicated at first, but trust me, it's not much. As you play more, everything will become common-place, so try not to freak out. Just look at how good the community is yet they've only been playing for about 4 months!

CrimsonDisaster Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 NYC has been playing this game for almost a year now, Austin and Houston got the game before NYC did... the scene is definitely older than 4 months ;( Console release on the other hand... ;( It doesn't take terribly long to get proficient if you have people to play against and push yourself to not settle for the easy way out all the time. Force yourself to learn the combos and the details of the game and it's a lot more fun anyhow.

Indeed a good number of the top players have been playing longer than 4 months, but what I meant was that there are some who've only been playing the game for 4 months yet are incredible players. The majority of the community has only been playing for 4 months and even they put up some good competition against the top players.

Makes playin the game even more fun Don't worry though, I wont be droppin this possgame any time lol. Looking at all the possibilities can be intimidatiting at first, but Its really intreging and it means that I have fun stuff to work on. And Im very stubborn so I won't quit anyway lol xD. Ive been hanging on to May since GGX even though back then I got whooped here and there but Im glad I hung in there. Im in no rush with the game, I just wanna be as good as I can be in it. And I can't try everything right now cause I have to pace myself lol I just sorta recovered from a bad case of Tendenitis, back in Dec when I OD'ed on GG doin Dolphin FRC's :8/:, so I just take Arcana and my other games a step at a time. I make some improvement, remember what I did and come back to it later like a book mark. Ive been trying to juggle Arcana, Melty Blood, and GG. Do some arcana, experiement with combos and mix ups, practice reveral beats, combos, and otg loops with Ciel, then go to gg, and practice with May and the bunch. Now Brawl is in the picture so Ive been thrown off track. The games badass without a doubt, its not super special but I think its cool that theres 3 diff taunts in this game now xD, lovin it :D. Im going to FR most likely since my best friebd should be there. Im mostly goin for GG and some MB, but I might do the arcana tourney, and if not i'll at least see some of you in casuals :D

It's cool. If I hadn't of been such a terrible player, it wouldn't of been so bad of a loss. Would you mind doing some casuals with me Sabin? I could use any pointers you may have for me. I haven't taken this news to SRK yet, but I'm seriously thinking of dropping Lilica. I'll let her be HeartNana'a territory. I'm currently struggling with easy characters too (Heart, Saki). I'm doing ok with Mei-Fang, but I haven't been able to complete her ground IAD combo past 20 hits before dropping the combo. I'm going to take Nana's advice and just stick to a character that my execution can handle. *resumes training*

I play Saki and I was watchin Japanese Arcana Hearts match, and I noticed that the playa did a down stomp, similar to her hold 82 C but he had the ability to combo of this move. Anyone know what I'm talkin bout and if so, how do you do it.

Secondly, the move you're talking about is j.3C (as stated above). Finally, I'd prefer we leave AH2 discussions outside of this thread. Any questions about AH2 can be directed here until an AH2 thread is started.
