Eladrien Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 For the SB.Garu, I don't hold [3] for the entirety of the move. I do mostly [2] while tapping [3] only to position the enemy a little bit in front of Elizabeth (her model in the middle of Garu, not the wind effect). After you get that down, you can start trying to add a D.Garu after SB.Garu before going into the rest of the combo like Juunee suggested. However, keep in mind that the timing and spacing varies slightly for each character, as well as the best inputs for controlling the direction of both Garus. You will also for the most part have to follow up with 2A/5A > 5B instead of going straight into 5B, due to timing constraints. As for j.D/5D, it does not gain any benefit from the 2C damage buff. Only 5C, j.C, and Memento Mori as far as I've seen.
Elochai Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 If the opponent is too high your directional input is messed up. If you're doing SB.Garu you should just go for the standard garu elevator combo and bring them back down with D.Garu. Typically you want to hit them just before the end of D.Garu so you are closest to the ground and they are still in untechable time. For just SB.Garu I think you need to hold a 3 input so that you move through them, if you follow their arc up you have to use OMB to continue the combo. Also, does j.D/5D benefit from the 2c damage buff? Now I feel kinda dumb lol. I wasn't going through them, I was kind of staying on them, but moving Liz in the 3 direction. I'll definitely try again tomorrow when I play. Thanks.
Kiba Posted August 4, 2012 Author Posted August 4, 2012 That would be my fault. So guys would it be better for me to list Garu combos as '[2] then [3]' rather than just '[2]'? Or does anyone have another way I could list it which is very specific at the same time?
Juunee Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 (edited) Both Liz players didn't make top 8 Anyone know how far they went? I think one of them made the ro16 but I'm unsure which it was. Edited August 5, 2012 by Juunee
Elochai Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 Having trouble with another combo. I can't seem to get 5AAA into D.Garu [3]. After the Garu, 5A doesn't come out fast enough. Is this because I'm inputting Garu too slowly? Or is there something else? After getting the SB Garu combo, I feel like I should be able to do this .
Kurushii Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Was starting to learn Liz combo routes last night and I noticed you didn't have any CH 5C(2)~5D routes listed Kiba. What would be the the more optimal followup from the 5D? I was doing like CH 5C(2)~5D > Delay > j.B > dj.B > j.C for like ~2.5k midscreen.
Kiba Posted August 7, 2012 Author Posted August 7, 2012 I'm pretty sure that's all you can do from CH 5C(2) > 5D, since the 5D in that combo seems to heavily limit your combo potential. I tried the JA > 5A route and that didn't work, but if anyone can find a more optimal combo from CH 5C(2) > 5D let me know. I wonder if the sweep > D.Garu route works. Also that route is inferior to the CH 5C(2) > 2C combo.

SansProtocol Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 I believe you can much more off of that by doing 5C (2) > 5D > delay 5B > Sweep > D. Garu > land 2A > 5B > 5C > 2C > B. Bufu > what have you for more damage. EDIT: Ninja'd slightly.
Kiba Posted August 7, 2012 Author Posted August 7, 2012 Sorry there haha. I'm not sure the combo can extend for that long but it's worth a shot. Also Elochai, I haven't ignored you, I just don't know the answer. I just got that combo from Kamoihito's combo video and I assumed the input is [3]. It could be a [2] then [3] thing or [3] then [2] but I'm not sure. If it's that hard I may just remove it. Like I mentioned in the combo thread, it may be character specific, as in the vid it was done on Yukiko.
jabhadouken Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 So. Challenge 26 is annoying, to say the least. I do not remember Millia toss run stop being this annoying, even. This combo makes me feel like other games this gen have made my skills soft. I hope that isn't the case, and that it really is hard. But my skills are probably soft. Sigh.
Starlight777 Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 I only did up to challenge 23. Liz is really fun. But I have to learn to not get hit with her.
xlolxlolx Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 standard 50 meter combo midscreen shud proly be 5aa>5b>sweep>ex garu[9~2]>d garu[2]>5a>5b>5c>2c>b bufu>ex lazor for around 3.7-3.8k

I got to play matches today for the first time (screw netplay) and instead of doing that combo, I always opted to go for 5AA > 5B > Sweep > Garu > stuff or Sweep > 2D, etc.
TD Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 so elizabeth has an instant overhead and l strongly believe it's universal... 2b OMC j.a land 5a... stuff. you need to be point blank, but that shouldnt be hard for her. you can also do 2b OMC land 2a stuff, and likely throw. for the IOH j.a has low hitstun so you have to be on point w/the land 5a
Kiba Posted August 8, 2012 Author Posted August 8, 2012 Yea that the better alternatve Elochai. It's just a matter of using what works for you. Nice find TD thanks for that.
xlolxlolx Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 (edited) hmm ending high proration midscreen combos with ex agi>sweep is pretty good for fc 5d tech trap and mitsuru is fucking retarded.... Edited August 8, 2012 by xlolxlolx
White Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Damn this character is deliciously cheap lol tried that command grab ice setup into super shit is crazy Feel as if i should train with each character before jumping online but has everyone been doing with this character? So far many are facing frustrations against the higher up characters like Mitsuru and Aigis Will note that huge blast of hers seems as if it works wonders against Aigis for small periods, long enough to get in
drdremacdre Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 noob question im extremely new to this kind of game im trying to do this combo 5AAA > D.Garu[3] > 5A > 5B > 5C(2) > 2C > B.Bufu > SB.Zio but after the D garu i cant get the 5A to hit at all, heres a vid can someone tell me what im doing wrong? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b4h9VvFox8s
MisoSowee Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 (edited) I've only just started the game but for that link to be successful (as far as i know, i'm no expert) i've found a few things help me. 1. you have to be as low as possible as garu ends 2. You want to be close to your opponent as garu ends, so it's more of a [3] then [2] garu so you're close 3. if you're too far after garu then the 5b won't connect after 5a 4. if you notice at the beginning is a bunch of garu hits and then a gap and then one single final garu hit. That last garu hit is really helpful as it pops up your opponent high, so that he/she is falling long enough for 5a to connect. 5. if your initial 5aaa is too far the garu won't connect 6. if after the garu you 5a too soon they'll be too high for 5b to connect. a little bit of timing is involved there. Hopefully that helps. Just keep at it! Edited August 8, 2012 by MisoSowee
C0R Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 If you're close enough, 5d > Backdash 5b times the 5b perfectly for a timing os. 5d > 5b > 2ab > D.Garu > 2a > 5b > 5cc > 2c > B.Bufu > B.Bufu > j.c is 4160.
Kurushii Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 SNIP HOLY SHIT YOU ARE ALIVE!?!?!?!?! MISOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! :o
