Is Azrael's Astral a counter, because I know I read somewhere it was, but in Isuna's channel, when activated it didn't look like a counter, and just looked like a really fast Astral.

It's not a counter, there were reports of it being combo'd into.

You should post some of it in the Haku forums. I wouldn't mind seeing what kind of comparisons they make if it's insightful. Not that different than what we're doing now over there.

Litchi still is quite fanservice-y. Noel is just Mori's Creator's Pet so she has to be made as Mary Sue-ish and self-appealing as possible, and more of a braindead character gameplay-wise than anyone else because Mori doesn't know shit about balancing a fighting game.

CS2 proved Mori was a fucking retard not a good director when he decided to butcher everyone's fighting styles so they would be more geared towards getting the opponent in the corner, completely destroying mid-screen options. Extend kind of fixed everything, but it was too late; they balanced it to the point where it's boring as fuck to play and watch, and everyone got tired of CS updates (don't blame 'em) and moved on to Persona.

Litchi is still quite fanservicy, yes. But then Makoto and Mu came along with outfits that make even less sense and it made my brain hurt. And now Noel has a skirt that seems to hover an inch away from her body.

As for gameplay, yes, corner shit needs to be toned the hell down. For instance, every fight with Ragna is me watching him juggle me from one corner to the other. Even if I'm otherwise winning. It's absurd.

The last time I fired up BB I was reminded of all the things that bother me about it. The corner stuff and the absurdly long combos really bug me. And it's not just because I'm Tager I swear.

I'm hoping the sequel is a good bit punchier. So far the reduction in hitstop seems like a good move. Maybe they'll tone down the combo length. Even SG had to give on that issue (though we're still waiting for that patch...)

There seems to be a lot of emphasis on reducing lengthy combos in BBCP and overall speeding things up a bit. Not sure if the wall stick will be better or worse than excessive wallbounce though.

I can't speak for other people, but it bothers me because it feels like lame pandering. I get that sex sells but when it gets that fanservice-y, it comes off as getting desperate for fans.

I'm a huge prude though, so what do I know lol.

Imo, Makoto is the worst. At least Mu has clothes if you change her palette assuming she's still in the game.

Combos are still going to be long, they are just faster. Ragna's combos haven't been nerfed at all.

Here's to another year or so of Ragna being S-tier again, unless he gets shitty during the last loketest.

simply playing blazblue a lot with good players at the recent tourney made me fucking excited as shit again for bbcp

i think most gameplay complaints with bbcse/bbcs2 are quite overblown and heavily personal and mostly just want the new version to regenerate interest. blazblue is fucking fantastic.

i really wonder if they're using the overdrive system as a way to limit strong tools in different ways without resorting to simply things like damage or really drastic things. for example, litchi's daisharin had that huge damage nerf to make corner oki less "silly"; perhaps now tying it to a different resource and altering how long it goes is a way they intend to adjust the value of the move in ways aside from altering how it basically works or altering damage. FRKZ and blood kain may be similar: they may want bang players to have more routine access to FRKZ because that is fucking fun(unless i misunderstand overdrive) but also make it less of a "well fuck here comes the repeated godlike mixup into giant damage, if i dont guess dp right im fucked" thing by making it temporary, and no-health-debuff blood kain may be more useful as a neutral tool as opposed to just combos/during strings.
