the thing with overdrive is that it still encourages the use in combos, especially when you consider the fact that it uses up your burst. most knowledgeable players in most cases would rather keep the burst than to use it on overdrive and chance it out. some overdrives may have less consequence to just activate out of nowhere (bang's maybe?), but the fact that it uses up a burst still creates an incentive not to do it.

my guess with overdrive is to give players more decisions this time around, what with the addition of crush triggers and overdrives. should i spend 25 heat to try and force an opening on my opponent, or should i save the heat for when i need it more? should i use up the overdrive and try to finish the round as soon as possible, or should i keep it just in case my opponent somehow manages to land a potential kill combo?

these particular design choices do deepen the strategy behind BB quite a bit, so it's definitely a step in the right direction. i'm all for what's to await this rendition.

Well, for Tager it magnetizes the opponent no matter what, so this is pretty much his dream for getting in against zoners that he had problems against all these years.

Except the zoners who gave him hell aren't home. Well Rachel is, but that's about it.

no it's not

K, thank god. I got scared for a sec.

DAT J.D HITBOX

Yes along with it hitstun and block stun lol.

Yea Tager's O.D is going to help him out a lot. Especially during the super flash, it's a buff to his mind games. I'm liking that hakumen gets a 20% damage increase, since you know, Mugen is nigh useless.

Im fully expecting another version of BB that takes 4 versions just to balance correctly.

Y so negative bro?

Does anyone feel crush triggers to be a bit too strong as is, in terms of guard breaking?

Like, 25 heat to potentially get a free combo feels a bit powerful. And even if the opponent does barrier block it, it consumes his barrier gauge quite a bit, so hypothetically, if you play it right, with 100 heat you can probably break an opponent's guard AND have him be in danger state. This is all hypothetical, of course, but to me that's a bit too strong... and exciting.

The startup on all CTs I've seen seem beatable by the three holy techniques: Mash A, Mash ID and backdashmash. There's also the issue that a blocked CT looks disavantageous to the attacker, meaning you can't just pressure-string 4 CTs.

They are also potential danger of being countered with quite a meaty starter due to its startup. But yeah, when you insert it smartly in a blockstring, it will be quite scary. But it will do a revolution in autoblocking low at reflex as we all usually do :)

Damn... think about resets into CT... aggressive stuff. And cool.

If you let your opponent get away with 4 CTs in a row or close to in a row, it's probably not the game that needs to be changed. These things are comparable to GG dusts or persona overheads in speed after all.

Just look at current Tsubaki, she has her 1 book unblockable, which is very strong, but not necessarily overpowered. Now everyone got that. ; )

My question is, why are people complaining about fanservice?

I am completely with you on this one.

It is not too cool for everyone to have all possible tools... but CT sounds nice so far. Hope it turns out a fine authentic tool.

Well, look at what they have done.

  • gave Tager air combos
  • gave Tager air special
  • removed Hakumens air dash combo, making him jump cancel like most other characters
  • makes Hakumens meterless game stronger and his meterfull game weaker
  • makes Arakunes curseless game stronger, and his curse game weaker
  • removes Tsubakis unblockable, and gives everyone an unblockable
  • gives everyone a power-up mode

We're moving in the Same Fighter direction.

The complete non-functionality of certain outfits in a combat situation aside (I know that argument will get a "who says outfits have to be realistic?!" response), the issue is the fact that the outfits don't match the personality. At least in Litchi's case, she seems to have this mildly sultry demeanor going on, so showing some skin actually makes sense for her personality, and it feels right. But Makoto and Noel? I have no idea what aspect of their personalities would ever lead them to dress like that. Maybe they're both secretly way trampier than I've given them credit for, but nothing in the story has really given evidence to support that. So their outfits just feel totally out of left field, because it just doesn't seem to match their demeanors. And that bothers me.

Honestly if I want to see hot naked chicks (real OR drawn) I have an internet full of porn to turn to. Heck, you can find some really good fanart based on this very game. But, when I'm actually consuming some entertainment that actually has a story and decently developed characters, I'd rather they make some kind of logical sense in their overall design so I can take it at least somewhat seriously (and other people can take me seriously for playing it). Not to say that no character can dress slutty ever, but an equally sulty personality had better preclude it, or else it just makes no sense from a writing standpoint.

Even if Lambda and Mu were still around (and let's face it they probably will be at some point), magnetizing a zoner doesn't exactly auto-win the match for Tager. You still have to do moves to pull them in and/or try to approach them, all of which are either difficult or plenty punishable by a solid zoner.

Maybe its just years of dealing with a terrible character talking, but I'm fully expecting Tager to have plenty of disadvantages against many characters. Because of that it's kinda hard to think of it as "same fighter." Tager is different enough to suck often, at least.

Who told you that nonsense? There'll be at least one new Murakumo boss who was teased in the trailer and the interview.

And they are not ridiculous enough to throw away two authentic gameplay styles and cyborg girl designs, fapped on all across the Internet.

And

We're moving in the Same Fighter direction.

^ this conclusion is rather senseless talking about BB and arc games in general. They have their own way no matter how you see it.

I am with you on that, it is something that baffles me.

They probably feel embarrassed when someone who doesn't know about BlazBlue sees it.

I think I made my stance on this issue perfectly clear in my last post. These outfit designs are often bad from a writing standpoint. I know we're not all here for the writing or care to take this game's story seriously in any way. Still I think it's a valid point.

Though no, mAc Chaos, people looking at these games and immediately making the worst assumptions about my peers and I doesn't help either.

Also I miss the Chappelle show :(
