Narroo Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 We are talking input display of what you press, not the challenge input display which has been in since CS1. So, where is your avatar from? I assume it's fan art?

Kagura’s drive is Black Gale, which lets him switch between three different fighting stances. He can switch between grappling skills, sword techniques that do multiple hits, and a giant sword & shield. don't know how accurate that is... SoWL can you confirm/deny? does his sword transform into a sword and shield? also i guess kagura is locked behind story mode
Kurushii Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 It may be details from the magazine that the site didn't publish.
BladeOfJustice7 Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 http://www.siliconera.com/2013/05/29/blazblue-chronophantasma-adds-slow-motion-and-a-key-log-to-challenge-mode/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+siliconera%2FMkOc+%28Siliconera%29 don't know how accurate that is... Rishtopher Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 I think it's pretty likely you'll be able to unlock him earlier if you pay for it. They did the same for Mu before, IIRC? Feel bad for those who don't like doing story mode stuff.
Kurushii Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Yes Mu is CS1 was exactly the same. Either unlock by beating Story Mode True End or pay for the unlock dlc on the store.

Either unlock by beating Story Mode True End or pay for the unlock dlc on the store. I forgot about her being unlockable. Anyways that's good to hear he's unlockable. Though he looks incredibly slow, he looks pretty badass. And does anyone else find the new training mode stage looks like the SFxT training mode stage?
Tokkan Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 don't know how accurate that is... SoWL can you confirm/deny? does his sword transform into a sword and shield? also i guess kagura is locked behind story mode Reading the Kagura jBBS thread, the grappling move is Ryuugekisou, the multi-hit sword move is Toryuurenzan and the shield move is Ryuuhashou. The inputs for his stances appear to be 6D, 5D and 2D. There's probably a more detailed web article coming next week with more of the details from the print article.
Kurushii Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 And does anyone else find the new training mode stage looks like the SFxT training mode stage? Lol glad I'm not the only person who thought that.
Rishtopher Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 I thought anime gamers love story mode though? Are there are lots of you on DL who never play it? It's the first thing I did in every iteration. Having Kagura unlock near the end means he has some pivotal role, glad he looks cool so far.
shtkn Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 believe it or not, some ppl (especially on this site) play fighting games purely for the competitive aspect and don't care about story mode at all
Chaoschao222 Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 I thought anime gamers love story mode though? Are there are lots of you on DL who never play it? It's the first thing I did in every iteration. Having Kagura unlock near the end means he has some pivotal role, glad he looks cool so far. Think about how many people import the games, then think about how many actually have an adequate understanding of Japanese; some just wanna play their fightan game for the fightan.
Akifukete Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 There's also the fact that the Story Mode is supposed to take around 25 to 30 hours to beat this time around.
BladeOfJustice7 Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Lol glad I'm not the only person who thought that. I can't blame them though, the SFxT training stage is kinda dope looking. And plus EVERYONE made fun of ArcSys for putting in that bootleg pseudo-mvc2 training mode stage. This one looks a lot cooler, and maybe I won't have to use Hakumen's CT stage for my training mode stage now. I thought anime gamers love story mode though? Are there are lots of you on DL who never play it? It's the first thing I did in every iteration. Having Kagura unlock near the end means he has some pivotal role, glad he looks cool so far. Depends on the generation of gamers you're looking at. The older vet GG players tend to not give a fuck about story-mode, with good reason since apart from GG to some level storymode was largely stupid and convoluted nonsense which was used to bring in more characters. So they never had a reason to play a game for a story mode. The newer generation of fighting game players who jumped on BB and Persona, were given the luxury of fully fleshed out story and plots for their fighting games. So they have a reason to have a greater connection towards their characters and their relevance to the story (and even the side-stories), which was largely absent from older fighting games before. It is for this reason why guys like Spirit Juice (especially), shtkn, And Digital Watches don't really care for story mode stuff and don't bother with it. So for guys like that, having to do story mode to unlock a character is tedious and annoying. But the newer gen gamers find enjoyment in that (it's better than buying DLC). Another clear example of this enjoyment in story could be seen in the expectations for crossover games like mvc3 and SFxT to actually have plot. Which never happened before in crossover games, they were usually an opportunity for companies to bring in extra money (ex CvS2). Hope what I said was clear to you. Anyways back on topic so kagura has a default stance (5d), a ??? stance (6d) and a crouching stance (2d). And depending on the stance, he gets access to different moves is that correct? And also what looks like his 6c FC's based on the famitsu pics.
BlackYakuzu94 Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 So do you follow up with inputs like for Hazama's 214D?
TheGreatReptar Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 There's also the fact that the Story Mode is supposed to take around 25 to 30 hours to beat this time around. Wasn't BBCS supposed to be around 20 hours? Regardless, I unlocked Mu-12 in like 40 minutes using the fastest route to the true end and putting my watch on the A button on my arcade stick with turbo turned on
Hecatom Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 (edited) http://www.siliconera.com/2013/05/29/blazblue-chronophantasma-adds-slow-motion-and-a-key-log-to-challenge-mode/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+siliconera%2FMkOc+%28Siliconera%29 don't know how accurate that is... SoWL can you confirm/deny? does his sword transform into a sword and shield? also i guess kagura is locked behind story mode ugh... i hope that they give us the option to unlock him with a dlc code like mu because i don't really wan't to waste my time on the story mode just to play with him >:/ I thought anime gamers love story mode though? Are there are lots of you on DL who never play it? It's the first thing I did in every iteration. Having Kagura unlock near the end means he has some pivotal role, glad he looks cool so far. believe it or not, some ppl (especially on this site) play fighting games purely for the competitive aspect and don't care about story mode at all This million times, i mean, i understand that some people like the story, but is not what it matters on FGs in the long run. Depends on the generation of gamers you're looking at. The older vet GG players tend to not give a fuck about story-mode, with good reason since apart from GG to some level storymode was largely stupid and convoluted nonsense which was used to bring in more characters. So they never had a reason to play a game for a story mode. You say that as if the story on BB was any better. Wasn't BBCS supposed to be around 20 hours? Regardless, I unlocked Mu-12 in like 40 minutes using the fastest route to the true end and putting my watch on the A button on my arcade stick with turbo turned on I actually bought the unlock because fuck story mode. Edited May 29, 2013 by Hecatom
Akifukete Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Well, I'm pretty sure they're exaggerating when they say 25-30 hours. The story is much more linear now so that makes it faster to complete too.
Narroo Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Yes it's fan art. http://pixiv.net/member_illust.php?illust_id=19444806&mode=medium Now I'm more confused. Why the heck is Ragna wearing a cooking apron? Why does dead spike look embarrassed? I need to learn Japanese. And maybe get back on topic. So, anyone think there's a chance of Kagura being in a similar boat with Ragna and the black beast? It would be interesting if he had "tamed" beast moves, if he had gotten over the whole angst Ragna has with it.
Rishtopher Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 Well, that makes sense then. shtkn, I knew what you said was true but I guess I never really understood how one can just not care about the characters and why they're fighting. To each their own though. I've played Arcana Heart and knowing about the game's story actually made me dislike it more, so it's not that I'm completely lost about what you mean there. Good point Chao, I'd forgotten that there were a fair amount of people who import. The thought to import never crosses my mind, so I didn't stop to think that it might be daunting to people. I tried playing BB's story in full Japanese and gave up in 5 min. If they had some furigana in there, I might be better off though. Also, thanks for clearing up the generational stuff, Blade. The first GG I played was GGAC; the one that didn't have a story mode. Now that I have AC+ and played a bit of it the story...I realized how much BB has spoiled me on that front lol. And Hecatom: I know the story doesn't ultimately matter, it just gets me into the game. I think I'd have stopped playing BB (or any FGs really, since it was kind of a gateway game for me) after CT if the story wasn't as interesting as it was to me. It serves its purpose I guess lol. Sorry for the long post, wasn't trying to start anything. I was just genuinely curious.
Agni Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 Kagura's locked behind story mode. Ah hell. I love the BB story but for whatever reason I never got the true end in CSE. Well, given that there's only three really-big stories...it'll probably be easier since I won't have to constantly replay them to get all the different endings.
Gespenst Ritter Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 So I'm still not quite getting how Black Gale works. You use D to go into various stances and then do some other moves out of those stances? Kind of like having multiple Serpent's Benedictions? Honestly, that's kind of boring if that's how it works.
TPPR10 Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 And maybe get back on topic. So, anyone think there's a chance of Kagura being in a similar boat with Ragna and the black beast? It would be interesting if he had "tamed" beast moves, if he had gotten over the whole angst Ragna has with it. Brutal honest mode: NO.
